YouTube path, reverse order.

I ended up listening to The Swingle Singers doing "Eleanor Rigby" a cappella, found in the sidebar while listening to SongstaForLife doing "Eleanor Rigby" (also a cappella), which I got to after SongstaForLife doing "Friday" — that much-mocked Rebecca Black thing — in a way that I found charming, which I got to from the faux-Dylan "Friday," which I got sent to from this news article telling me that faux-Dylan thing is the "Internet Meme of the Week," which came in through my Google alert on "Dylan."

Check out Aretha Franklin's Eleanor Rigby when you get the chance.

Someone explain to me the phenomenon of adults mocking Rebecca Black, a thirteen year old. I would explain it by saying that some adults act terribly, but someone might have a different take.

@David Okay, I did. She's all "I'm Eleanor Rigby"... but I'm not convinced.

@Freeman Isn't she like all rich and famous now? What's the problem?

Well put, Ann. I agree.

The real problem, unrecognized, is the Dylan "alert."

Hire the Swingle Singers to follow Meade around the capitol grounds as he hunts for New Meadea worthy stories...

Next time you're browsing your way through YT music, check out Straight, No Chaser. Esp. their version of the 12 Days of Christmas.

Nobody does faux Dylan better than Dylan. My favorite is "Tweeter and the Monkey Man".

If you like Accapella check out a Pacific NW's favorite group called The Coats singing the Beatles Come Together. http://tinyurl.com/3r6kqnp

Now I have to say check out the Meters' version of Come Together.

Freeman,

That was my first comment, too - she's a kid - but then they had to go and turn it into a phenomena and that was worthy of comment because it hurt the music business.

That Dylan version, Ann, is old now - it was viral, at least, three weeks ago. Tell me:

What do you think of the last song in this list? (I still can't grasp why you, an artist, like what you do,...)

Re Swingle Singers

Overproduced, over important.

Eleanor Rigby is a simple, straight forward song. It is best done simple and straight forward. Not with stunting and show off pranks as the SS do it.

It's like Silent Night with a back up orchestra.

I liked the faux Dylan version. It's not such a long journey from the pretentious to the portentous. The faux Dylan voice adds tension and drama to the song. Maybe a lot of his songs were as crappy as Friday, and we never realized it. At any rate, very few of his songs are covered by other artists as compared to the Beatles.
