Ha! On the previous post re Dr. Schweber, when he said "protest leaders", I immediately thought of Jackson and Sharpton. Since they are the media go-to guys when it involves race hustling and now state workers' demand to be overpaid.
Hahahahaha. Any time Jesse Jackson's take the moral high ground in the past 30 years it' been precariously. Seems we have a theme of people lost in the sixties going today.
Wallace's constituancy, as both governor and presidential candidate, consisted of blue-collar working stiffs who had the most reason to feel threatened by the gains blacks were making under the newly enforced civil-rights laws.
Wallace's appeal was to white cultural and racial animus, but he was not anti-union, and definitely not pro-big business.
Jackson's comment is historical revisionist nonsense.
From the article "If Wisconsin workers were looking for moral authority to bolster their fight against Walker and the Republican legislators, they couldn’t have done much better than this."
Moral authority? Jesse Jackson? He of Operation Procreate? We sure haven't seen much of his new... ah .. offspring.
If Wisconsin workers were looking for moral authority to bolster their fight against Walker and the Republican legislators, they couldn’t have done much better than this.
Jesse Jackson had a love child and used his organization funds as "hush money" to support his lover and illegitimate kid.
I think the unions could have done better.. they just wanted one of their own.
Jesse Jackson is an old man. With a very old routine. If he had a winning race card, however, you'd see new people. Fresh blood would have poured in. And, didn't. It dies like vaudeville.
So, he gets to whore for a few minutes of fame. Going nowhere.
A lot of good will got used up.
What can happen next? Given that the good will got vlown away?
Well, some states might decide they can ask their voters to approve hiring reachers for the lower grades who have college credentials. But not any academic teachers courses, since they're a waste of time.
Also, anyeone with an advanced math degree might be llowed to teacher upper grade math? Given that the locals can choose their teachers, it would put a new system in place.
And, maybe, schools would be made smaller? I'd bet if people were asked what they thought of the teaching profession, those credentials would become a mockery.
Jackson, Rangel, Sharpton, etc. are among the last people on Earth still profiting from the U.S. slave trade. All of them are repulsive politically, personally and morally.
That's not funny NotYourTypicalNewYorker and it is totally racially insensitive.
And in fact you are wrong.
What happened was they asked the Reverand Jackson what he was going to do about the abortion bill. He said he would pay it.
Unfortunately like most of his promises he didn't come through and that's how he ended up with his love child that he had to support which funds he raised to help the poor peoples.
Since I did not hear Jackson's speech (there is only just so much abuse I am willing to subject myself to), I wonder if he addressed the 49% graduation rates among black students in Wisconsin?
Nah, Jackson would not want to point out how Wisconsin teachers are failing his "people".
Years ago, I happened upon Jesse at the Capitol Mall. He was under a tent, and preaching up a storm. I was drawn into the assembly. I stood, and listened.
Jesse is nothing more than a serial sound-byte machine for victimhood. It's no wonder the MSM loves him.
Anger, indignation, a crowd of victims...it's all there, and it's the lead story!!
The Rev. Jackson was invited to the White House in order to offer President Clinton pastoral counsel during the Lewinksi scandal. Jackson took his mistress with him on this trip. Sometimes hypocrisy accumulates such layers and attains such heights that it staggers human comprehension. Part of the reason Jackson gets away with it is because no one can understand how he gets away with it. It's not the high ground. It's levitation.
It's because nobody has the guts to stand up to Jackson/Sharpton and all the other race hustlers. Republicans in particular are scared shitless of touching it.
I have a couple of idiot lefty friends who were, apparently, watching Jackson's speech at the '88 Dem convention on their own volition. At one point during the speech he shrieked out the words, "And leadership". They both looked at each other in amazement that he would have said what they thought he said which was, "Believe this shit".
It would be difficult to walk away from a gig that has made you a millionaire, got your son elected to Congress and still have huge numbers of people look up to you.
Jesse Jackson is the Crystal Gail Mangum of modern American politics.
One of them is a delusional lying whore who has children out of wedlock and who takes advantage of the welfare system for personal gain. The other is just a local prostitute who falsely claimed she was raped.
We've gone from Jesse James to Jesse Jackson. An even closer linkage considering not only their first names start with the letter J, but they even share the last name! Case closed.
"On Friday afternoon, Jesse Jackson returned to Madison for the third time in two weeks to hurl thunderbolts at Gov. Scott Walker’s union-busting budget bill. Jackson gave a hastily arranged speech to city employees on the steps of the City County Building, invoking Martin Luther King Jr.’s crusade for Memphis workers just before his 1968 assassination." And this appears in the "News" segment of the Daily, no less. Jesse knows that IF perchance we in the US would ever reach that pinnacle of brotherhood of which Dr. King spoke, where we would judge each other by the content of our character not the color of our skin, then Jesse would have to actually, you know, find a real job. I wonder if he forgot or deliberately put in the Govenor of Alabama who was shot 5 times in an assasination attempt, with Govenor Walker - you know, as part of the new civility?

Ol' Jesse is pretty desperate for attention these days ain't he?
I will say it once again; the defining characteristic of the modern day left is their inability to feel shame.
Jackson spoke without notes, it says.
KFI (I think Conway' show) has a "guess what Jesse Jackson said" feature, where Jackson audio is played and the audience has to decipher it.
I don't know if these two facts are related.
That's the New New Civility right there!
Follow the money, from Jackson's organization to his paramour. Fraud on a charity.
Ha! On the previous post re Dr. Schweber, when he said "protest leaders", I immediately thought of Jackson and Sharpton. Since they are the media go-to guys when it involves race hustling and now state workers' demand to be overpaid.

I assume the Daily is a student newspaper.
George is right. One of our most famous attentions whores looking for a little face time on television.
So now, in Jessie's weird little world balancing a budget is equal to racism. This is beyond desperate - it has become sadly pathetic.
"And then, devastatingly: ..."
Oh, please! I'd be astounded if anyone found that crack about Wallace & Walker anything but ludicrous.
Jessie wants to be our hero again. But he is no MLK marching in Selma Alabama 45 years ago on Bloody Sunday. Sorry Jessie, the career is over.
Jackson has been feeding off the ghost of Martin Luther King ever since the phony bloody shirt 43 years ago.
The irony is that George Wallace eventually saw the light and, last time he ran for governor, the line was, "...and he's the liberal".
Too bad the Rev never had such an epiphany.
WV "andoxi" Latin description of Charlie Sheen's escorts at last night's affair.
Jesse Jackson is the human equivalent of that little disk-shaped, white piece of cake in the bottom of public urinals.
It's easy to write Jesse Jackson's speeches for him: just think of simplistic word plays, no matter how inane.
Suggestions:
"Marchers of the world against the Walkers of the world!"
"In the race to freedom, the Walkers will not win!"
"He walks the walk, but I talk the talk!"
Yeah, they're stupid, but are they any stupider than "From the out house to the White House," a classis Jesse Jackson formulation?
"Wallace to Walker"
How alliterative! How cute!
How wrong!

Rasheed Wallace? Good baller...in tha day...too many techs though...
He's retired Jessee...keep up!
Peter Yarrow and Rev Jackson...who they gonna call next? Ghostbusters?

When Jesse shows up, your protest has "jumped the shark".

Ahead, something changes.
People on the high road are everywhere it seems.
Rangel: Abolishing unions' collective bargaining like slavery
“We’ve gone from Wallace to Walker!”
We've gone from Jackson to Jack Ass!
Jesse Jackson, posing precariously on the moral high ground.
No. Uh-uh. [head shaking] Nope. I think it's pretty-fucking-clear he's fallen off that perch, Missy.
Give him back his bloody shit, send him home.
Did the Rev'rund Jackson ever get around to cutting Obama's nuts off?
Jackson, Rangel, Sharpton, etc. are among the last people on Earth still profiting from the U.S. slave trade. All of them are repulsive politically, personally and morally.
When Jesse Jackson ran for the white house the first time he was asked, if elected what would he do about defense?
Jackson responded that he'd paint it white just like the rest of the house.
rimshot!
Under paid black garbage workers in Memphis, over paid white teachers in Wisconsin. Same thing.
From the article
" And then, devastatingly:
“We’ve gone from Wallace to Walker!”
Devastating? For the credibility of the protesters, yes.
That's not funny NotYourTypicalNewYorker and it is totally racially insensitive.

Sharpen up buddy.
Wringing out every last drop of potential moral authority from his long-ago relationship with MLK.
He's sucked on MLK for every molecule of juice he could get.
Well, it had to come to this, didn't it?
After the civil rights era, feminists insisted that women were just like blacks in the Jim Crow South. (I'd wager Althouse was in on this one.)
Then, homosexuals were just like blacks in the Jim Crow South.
Now, spoiled public employees are just like blacks in the Jim Crow South.
So, everybody is just like blacks in the Jim Crow South... except for non-public employees who are white, Christian, hetero men.
Those folks are obviously the slave masters.
"He said he would pay it."
Apologies Trooper, but i'll be stealing that one to tell my friends at work Monday.
The irrelevant store front preacher never fails to amuse. Someone should tell him the Civil Rights Movement is over.
To his credit, Jackson has no shame. He also has no ethics, no morals, and no honesty.
Since I did not hear Jackson's speech (there is only just so much abuse I am willing to subject myself to), I wonder if he addressed the 49% graduation rates among black students in Wisconsin?
Nah, Jackson would not want to point out how Wisconsin teachers are failing his "people".
The shakedown artist has spoken on behalf of the shakedown situation.
Jesse Jackson is the Crystal Gail Mangum of modern American politics.
Racially insensitive
I thought that was the goal?
It's not a goal....it is a lifestyle.
Was Jackson always this crazy?
Years ago, I happened upon Jesse at the Capitol Mall. He was under a tent, and preaching up a storm. I was drawn into the assembly. I stood, and listened.

Jackson back in Madison trolling for poon. Must have gotten lucky last time and is back to try again.
But, what about cutting out Obama's nuts? Unfinished business.
"And then, devastatingly..."
Oh, please!
I'd be astounded if anyone took that Wallace to Walker crack as anything but ludicrous.
I wonder why he would bring up his fellow race-obsessed Democrat (but then I repeat myself), George Wallace?
The Rev. Jackson was invited to the White House in order to offer President Clinton pastoral counsel during the Lewinksi scandal. Jackson took his mistress with him on this trip. I took AP English in high school with Mel Tillis' daughter, Pamela. What can I get for that?
Go down...Jesse...
Way down in cheesehead lan'...
Tell ol'...Walker...
To let my people mooch.

True story.
My mother marched with Ralph Abernathy for Civil Rights. Everyone considered Jesse a huckster then.
Fuck that piece of human refuse called Jesse Jackson.
Everyone who compared Walker to Wallace or Hitler, one of the most evil men in history - go to hell, you and all of your children. Assholes.
It would be difficult to walk away from a gig that has made you a millionaire, got your son elected to Congress and still have huge numbers of people look up to you.
Somehow, I think/hope his race card is maxed out.
JJ has no clothes.

All ten of the black people in Wisconsin applauded Jackson's clever play on words.
Damn, that's ridiculous.
Jesse Jackson could have been a great leader.
Instead he has become an even greater fool.
He knows better. But he's deeply invested in the concept that nothing ever changes.
We've gone from Wallace to Walker!
Hooray!
"“We’ve gone from Wallace to Walker!”"
From Democrats to Republicans?
From Democrats to Republicans?
Exactly.
Hooray!

A stutter?
Walker and Wallace both start with W. Clearly there is linkage.
We've gone from Jesse James to Jesse Jackson.
An even closer linkage considering not only their first names start with the letter J, but they even share the last name! Case closed.
Unfortunately for Jesse, the Wallace that Walker really resembles is William.
