And in Washington state teachers are taking a huge cut in their salaries, but there are no protests at state capitol and our Dem governor have not been called Hitler either.
Franklin: The poster is so derivative, so like her hat. But I would despair too if I lived up there with all the whining white people protesting every freaking day.
"In Illinois our Democratic governor is going to fire 17,000 teachers"
Maguro, well as long as he doesn't impact the power and income of union leaders or administrators, he's still being fiscally prudent.
In California they're cutting billions of dollars in services to the poor and needy, but again as long as union leaders aren't affected, it's no problem.
Well, not literate, not technically. Clever? I'm not so sure about that, either. The Scream is the subject of a lot of interpretive criticism, it's every ModArt 300 student's favorite, and everybody is encouraged to view it as a seminal piece. Recognizing it and having an opinion about is de rigueur in regional, state university college town social circles. Clever? I suppose if the pond is small enough.
As much as I liked the Edvard Munch hommage on the lady's poster (and I really did), wouldn't it have been better to draw the face in the shape of the State of Wisconsin? Or does Wisconsin resemble an open-mouthed bone-chilling scream?

If you look closely at it, I think that is what she intended - to sort of 'meld' the rough outline/shape of Wisconsin with 'The Scream'. Hence, 'State of Wisconsin'.
Again, overly dramatic, relatively speaking. The people attempting to equate Walker with Hitler, etc etc are desperate to hold their advantage over the taxpayers, so they will squeal like pigs in the process. This is what is being seen, played out.

OH RIGHT, I see it now! Well, hell, in that case this is the best protest poster I've seen. Even if she is a drama queef.
@ Mr D, "The giant screaming mouth is right over Madison, where it should be." Actually it looks more like a giant black hole sucking up all the taxpayers dollars. And giving nothing back.

If Wisconsin is the "State of Dispair" why bother protesting?
(note the retro fab sixties cap)
More like State of De Nile.
(I'm surprised they're not using that with a "Walker - Egypt us" theme)
(Nah, too cereberal for Lefties)

They (the caps) must be coming back. The Blonde has one like that, but in faux leopard, to go with a car coat.
Nothing like a good wallow in a nice warm pool of self pity.
In Illinois our Democratic governor is going to fire 17,000 teachers, but for some reason he's not just like Hitler.

At first glance, I thought Althouse had grabbed a sign and joined the revolution.
More affirmation that the left is staffed by drama queens.

A table passing out taxpayer dollars would be popular.
So the people who have had their retirement bills paid by the taxpayers are now victims?
Please.
Grow up and start to pull your weight for a change. Oh, and you need to get a LOT better at teaching kids to read by the 8th grade.

That's actually a cool poster.
She's a fascist and totalitarian for her positions, but I'll give her credit for her poster.
It's geographically correct, that's for sure. The giant screaming mouth is right over Madison, where it should be.
Doesn't she know UW beat KState. No burning sofas or riots in street?

Is this the same woman that had her friends "Hi Everybody / Fuck you" sign yesterday.
It is so hard to distinguish people when they wear their 1969 uniforms.
w/v: virobit - no, you can't get it from toilet seat.
Could that be Slimer from Ghostbusters having a bad hair day?
She must be an art teacher.

I thought it was the best poster I've seen at the protests. She said she was an artist.
I like it
but I'm not sure she really wanted to convey as sense of
isolation
depression
despair

That explains everything.
The use and rendition of The Scream in the poster is at least literate and clever. You've got to give her that.
Yeah, baby. But aren't we all artists?
wv: portypr - I've been waiting for tahtone, er I mean that one. See what I mean?

Semi-literate and not clever. It's been done thousands of times already.
This is a tough crowd today.
To art students it might seem mundane. But not to dummies like me.
It's been done thousands of times already.
But not in Wisconsin;>)

Squeal pigs, squeal.

Uheriest person I know.
Hey, it's a great poster. That is no substitute for thoughtful analysis, but it's a great poster nonetheless. Contact the Smithsonian pronto.

@ DT2012 "so they will squeal like pigs in the process." A stuck pig squeals the loudest.

Looks like a piece of green Swiss cheese.
