2 men who had been at odds in an earlier video are now having a friendly chat, as 2 and then 3 women sing "Solidarity Forever," and then it's back to loud chant — "Si Se Puede."
To see the first exchange between these 2 men, look at 5:46 in the "Free-Speech Countervoice" video. The hardhat guy mocks the ponytail guy's hairstyle — in a really jackassy way. But look at them here. Suddenly, they are old friends. That's pretty cool. The difference in the face of the hardhat guy in the 2 videos is just amazing. The singing women are lovely too. The return to chanting? Ugh.

One of the odd ball bed partners is the greenies an the union hounds. The greenies are chasing the good hardhat jobs out of the country with the added rules of the environment and the union boneheads support the losing of their jobs. What a great group oxymorons.
"This is what the hive mind looks like."
Those poor cops will soon be filing workers compensation claims for their shattered eardrums.
Se se puede?
Nothing like adopting the protest motto of the Reconquistas.
Yep, these "solidarity" union fools have thrown in with a nasty lot. I guess there is no connection between the same fist being on the Wisconsin AFL-CIO and the National Socialist Party of America.
"Si Se Puede."
Pero porque en espanol en Wisconsin? Aqui se habla ingles.
Althouse searching for "beautiful things" among the chaos.
My thinks it's time for her and her husband (leaving NewMeadia behind)to go find some peace and go skiing-...just thinking
Maybe the protesters were just trying to impress the 4% of Wisconsin students who are Hispanic?
"My thinks it's time for her and her husband (leaving NewMeadia behind)to go find some peace and go skiing-...just thinking"
Yes, I'm jonesin' for a peaceful cafe.
Don't worry, as soon as the republicans actually vote the lefties will all claim they see devil again, and all peace and tranquility will vanish.
Assholes.
The two women - union anti-American assholes. They represent everything wrong in the United States.
Fuck them and their children.
What a great country this would be without the people and their kind who demonstrated for their union masters and their own selfishness agianst regular taxpayers.
What wasted pieces of human refuse they are.
Fuck them and their children.
Careful, now. Peter Yarrow might still be skulking about somewhere close by, after all.
Given time and opportunity, people can shed some false allegiance long enough for frank moments. This one didn't last long though.
There really is a cultish feel to all of this.

"go find some peace and go skiing..."
Unfortunately, there hasn't been enough snow since that thaw in early February! Sad!
Plus, Meade and I picked up bad colds ... protest virus!
I would suggest the Tea Party Chorus might respond with a little bit of "We Shall Overcome". Then "On Wisconsin", and finish strong with "Lady of Spain" by a 99 accordion army.
So oppressed those two beefy broads are, NOT!
When you're chanting, you aren't thinking.
"Then "On Wisconsin"..."
Well, Meade went over to the Capitol this morning to stand in the middle of the rotunda and lead the crowd in "On Wisconsin." I'm finalizing video now, so hang on.
I would suggest the Tea Party Chorus might respond with a little bit of "We Shall Overcome". Then "On Wisconsin", and finish strong with "Lady of Spain" by a 99 accordion army.
Imagine several hundred Tea Partiers assembled, facing the Capitol in unison... and then: launching themselves, as one, into a full-throated verbalization of the drum solo from "in-A-Gadda-Da-Vida."
Isn't the lady on the left the same one [with the NYC or New England accent] who gave Meade crap a few days ago?
Chanting in the name of leftist causes is the HEIGHT of patriotism, but non-chanting for right-wing causes is horrible and must be persecuted to the ends of the earth...
I don't think so, AJ.
but aren't TPers also a "hive mind". That's a major reason I never attend rallies, I'm just so individualistic and my shit don't smell.
Alex,
Chanting in the name of leftist causes is the HEIGHT of patriotism, but non-chanting for right-wing causes is horrible and must be persecuted to the ends of the earth...
Yeah, and now they wonder where we got our cynicism!
I dunno....do they have drum circles, and chanting at TeaParty affairs? Do they blow whistles to stifle speech?
I've always thought chanting was a brain-washing technique....or maybe chanting is the outcome of a brain-washing procedure.
@Alex
"...but aren't TPers also a "hive mind". That's a major reason I never attend rallies,"
Out of a certain necessity.
Enough people see the favor that unions enjoy, and decide that they must also organize in order to have a voice.
You and I can voice our opinions as individuals, it just doesn't have the political effect that an organized effort does. Thats why the D's have eaten the R's lunch for so long.

Crack - I just can't take the double standard any longer. I'm tired of being told by the media and the left that people like me are the problem with America, when we all know it's them.
DT2012 - yes they take advantage of the fact that conservatives & especially libertarians tend to dislike groups.
@Alex
"...conservatives & especially libertarians tend to dislike groups."
I don't think the Tea Party members necessarily 'like' having to take the time and energy needed to organize. Again, this invention/group called the 'Tea Party' was borne of frustration more than anything.
I guess if you're not out there lobbying for something, you simply won't get anything...the squeaky wheel theory.

Hanging around Lefties will do that to you. I thought several of the "singers" sounded a bit on the plastered side. A little of the Jack Daniel's for Cough and Cold.
PS My sympathies to you and Meade. I've had pretty much the same thing twice, The Blonde only once, but much worse than mine and for much longer.
PPS My compliments for working through your illnesses. I tried to study though mine, but the fever made it impossible.
In addition to the lack of puppets the protests there are a bit too white, Jesse notwithstanding. The added Spanish is a move in the right direction. But NPR cannot pronounce "union" or "Wisconsin" with the same linguistic solidarity as "Sandinista" or even "Contra."
Funny, the cops are standing around surfing on their iPhones. I bet they're watching themselves on Althouse.
I could almost picture them changing the words to my favorite Marley song-
Union Song (is all I ever had)
But, that would be too melancholy.
SÃ se puede, si is a conditional
yes, you can looseley traslated
"Si Se Puede"? Heh.
I'm pretty sure there were more Hispanics ahead of me in line at the grocery store this morning than there are in the state of Wisconsin.
It seems that Jesse Jackson is being allowed to warp the minds of the young in Wisconsin. Yesterday the cheif race baiter and poverty pimp told the 4th, 5th and 6th graders from Highland Community School that "Wisconsin's fight over labor and collecting bargaining rights for public workers is an extension of the fight for equal voting rights in the 1960's."
Someone obviously forgot to tell Jackson that Highland Community School is a charter school whose teachers are NOT unionized.
The paper goes on to report that Jackson chose that school because state Sen. Lena Taylor's son attends and because it is a "culturally" diverse school.
Now, let's see; Wisconsin, according to 2005 census estimates, is 91% white, 6.48% black, with a smidgen of Asian and Hispanics thrown in for good measure. Not exactly my idea of a "culturally" diverse state.
But now we are to assume that the "rights" of unions (never mentioned in the Constitution and which are not really "rights" but priviledges, are equal to the struggle of black Americans to gain the Constitutionally given right to all Americans to vote? Seems I missed those videos of police dogs and water hoses being used against Wisconsin teachers.
Tell me, Wisconsin, just how low do you intend to sink?
I plan to be back at the center of the rotunda floor tomorrow at about 9AM. If any off you can make it there, I would love to meet you and sing the national anthem together, followed by On, Wisconsin. (Believe me, with my singing voice, I need all the help I can get.)
Don't worry - my cold is nearly gone, I'll cough in my sleeve, and I won't insist that we shake hands.
Can anyone tell me why Lena Taylor's kid goes to a non-union school? Surely she didn't pick the school based on the quality of education her child would get.
Love is all you need
EveryBODY siiiiiiing
We aaaare the woooooooooorld............, we are the children
We are the ones who make a brighter day
So lets start giving
There's a choice we're making
We're saving our own lives
It's true we'll make a better day
Just you and me
Plus, Meade and I picked up bad colds ... protest virus!
So Meade is indeed suffering for his art, eh.
hmm, there were several directions to go w/this and I decided to be restrained. ;)
Solidarity for a While
Music for a while.
if by "art" you mean trolling other blogs, refusing to answer a simple, direct question and generally being obtuse, then yes.
Meade went over to the Capitol this morning to stand in the middle of the rotunda and lead the crowd in "On Wisconsin."
Lead the crowd in Fauré's Après un rêve, for a test of organizing talent.
"...."Lady of Spain" by a 99 accordion army."
Hey, I saw that on the Ed Sullivan Show Too!
I suppose that I found these videos interesting at first, slowing tiring of them to the point that I won't watch anymore. Why? Why watch these people make fools out of themselves. The only videos that I want to see from now on, are ones that this situation/question is asked of the protesters: "The state of Wisconsin has a debt, and we are currently running a deficit. We also owe Minnesota about $60 million in tax reciprocity payments amongst other financial shortcomings. How do you want the state to fix these problems?"

I think it would be interesting to tell the college-age protestors how much they are on the hook in taxes for these entitlements. I'm betting its around $50,000 each.
"trolling other blogs, refusing to answer a simple, direct question and generally being obtuse,"
I'm not sure of what you're talking about specifically, but I do know that you pretty much have described artists throughout the centuries. Except for the blog bit. But since art often has been put in public spaces, I think there's an very good equivalent in every generation.
