"... All of us are against SB11, and everyone is willing to go as far as their comfort zone allows to make sure it doesn’t happen.... I really want both sides to take a look at how far this really has to go, and whether some of us who are serious about taking our country back regardless of their supposed political allegiances can agree to turn our efforts against the apparatus of big government, big media, and wall street before running around beating each other up in the streets."
Dan Riehl has some more interactions with Jim Shankman, the man who wrote a vicious screed threatening me.

Are you sure Dan Riehl didn't dial the Onion? This is mockery itself.
I thought the 15 minutes would be up by now?
stay safe, althouse.
His mommy should intervene. Maybe she already has? Could this be why he is raising the ante?
Can an adult somewhere please take the big microphone away from this silly man-child?
Jesus, I come back from having watched Rango (huge disappointment, and not family friendly AT ALL) to yet more mental masturbation from the union refusenik.
I am still reading Dan's interview, but I am doubtful (as Riehl suggests) that Shankman wrote or had a hand in writing the death threat in the first link.
The "voice" is completely different, being more direct, less pithy, less juvenile, with several uses of scare quotes, something the anti-Althouse note didn't have.
(Quotations are usually looked down upon those who consider themselves intellectually superior)
To think that for a brief moment, I had mellowed my opinion of Shankman after his goofy-sounding interview with Riehl.
wv: gungst (gun angst)

He's living in a cardboard box in somebody's attic and calls it living off the land.
Living off some idiot friends is more like it.
The one thing that concerns me is that he may know somebody who really is planning something.
This guy needs some serious attention from the FBI (good luck with that in this Administration).
In the meantime, take care, both of you. Don't let this animal intimidate you, but just be aware.
You've got a lot of friends out here praying for you in their own ways.
As a lawyer, you know that "threatening me" is almost a meaningless statement unless you specify what he is threatening you with. A lawsuit? His displeasure with your presence? Bronx cheers while you walk down the street? A recall election on Walker?
I only skimmed his screed, but it seems he was threatening you with ostracism and social discomfort because he claims that there are a lot of people in Madison who quite dislike you now.
So what? That seems well within the limits of acceptable speech.
The baseballs on your lawn sounds like something children do.
If you really think he threatened you in the sense tht you mean to imply--with an illegal or physically damaging action--I strongly urge you to report him to the police instead of to your readers, for then he has surely committed a crime.
Have you done that?
Can an adult somewhere please take the big microphone away from this silly man-child?
I fail to see what Obama has to do with this, Palladian.
I am keeping my faith in our First Amendment. As a matter of fact, the "threat" that they will take this to the wall, belies what's missing.
When people came out for the Tea Party, it came out in a ground swell.
Back in the 1960's Civil Rights passed in spite of some southern towns bringing out the dogs and the billy clubs.
As to this story, one clue is that it's not really showing up on the media. I've never seen so many stories ignored!
Now, if I were asked what Governor Walker will do, I'm going to guess is that he will go very slowly. The way a surgeon tackles a tumor, one small stroke at a time.
You've also seen the most energy already thrown at this. With teachers missing work. And, doctors standing on street corners handing out absence excuses.
All this has done was bring lots of eyeballs to your blog.
Even exposing Jim Shankman was done by someone who comes here to comment, that knew how to open a "PDF." (I've never met PDF.)
This blog has been wonderful! Full of energy. Strong on allowing everyone's opinion in.
Besides, how can you bring billy clubs and water hoses to an Internet site?
Can we measure enthusiasm? Well, it seems to me the unions failed to deliver much beyond their drum bangers. And, for that Judge Prosser had to dictate that ear plugs be given to the Capitol janitors.
Oh, yeah. And, "Bullhorn nurse," went about asking to see Governor Goofy. And, even though he said he'd be back every day ... Meade hasn't found him, again.
Nah. No one's in a cave planning another assault. While you've both done fantastic work. And, I've watched this story grow legs like Betty Grable's.
I fail to see what Obama has to do with this, Palladian.
OH SNAP!
(I've never met PDF.)
I have. He's a turd, Carol. And .doc doesn't make house calls.

The wanted posters seem to convey a specific intent.
Then there's that phrase, "All of us are against SB11, and everyone is willing to go as far as their comfort zone allows". Some people's comfort zones in regard to this matter have been quite OK with physical mayhem. How far does he want it to go?
"some of us who are serious about taking our country back regardless of their supposed political allegiances can agree to turn our efforts against the apparatus of big government, big media, and wall street before running around beating each other up in the streets."
Pretty clear.
PS Palladian, you're right on the beam.

"WE WILL FUCK YOU UP"
To me that sounds like a threat of an "illegal or physically damaging action." If my friends and I said that to you in a bar, how would you take it?
Quoting from the blogpost:
While taking exception to some of how my initial post characterized him as potentially unambitious, Shankman mentioned his fondness for outdoor adventure and stated that he is currently mostly living off the land, while residing in a card board box in the attic of some friends. As for “making it mobile,” it’s unclear if Shankman intends to modify the cardboard box in some manner, or if he intends to pack it up, taking it along with him as he goes. On the other hand, I suppose one could simply pick up a new box when arriving in a new location and I’m not sure how said box, or mobile home/housing, might hold up to rain, or the often cold Wisconsin weather - depending upon the season, of course.
Oh my. I thought the cardboard box thing was a joke by Edutcher; it's real!
Are you kidding me??
When I read that Vincent Kartheiser, aka Peter Campbell on "Mad Men", lived in a pokey flat with no toilet, I thought that tipped his politics (which it did, he's a raging Lefty...although he's possibly my second fave character after Joanie).
But living "off the land" in the middle of a Wisconsin winter, inside a as-yet-to-be-determined mobile cardboard box, well.
That takes the flippin' biscuit.
Cheers,
Victoria
lucid, let me assure you - every law enforcement person we have reported this to takes Shankman's screed as a serious threat.
Gadfl...I mean lucid: We knew yesterday that Meade and Althouse took this to the authorities. Did you honestly think they wouldn't?
@tyrone.
it wasn't said in a bar, so what is your point? context matters, and Shankman's examples of what he is going to do is to throw a baseball on her lawn or glare at her in a restaurant.
BUT, if I am wrong and it really is a threat of something illegal, then has Ann reported it to the police?
Why not? Perhaps she prefers to be be self-dramatizing?
Frankly, I've been threatened with worse driving in Manhattan traffic.
@meade--
And so he has been arrested?
Here, let me Wikipedia that for you:
"Criminal threatening (or threatening behavior) is the crime of intentionally or knowingly putting another person in fear of imminent bodily injury. "Threat of harm generally involves a perception of injury...physical or mental damage...act or instance of injury, or a material and detriment or loss to a person."[2] "A terroristic threat is a crime generally involving a threat to commit violence communicated with the intent to terrorize another."[3]"

A witticism that escaped H. H. Munro?
"And so he has been arrested?"
I don't know. I'll check back with the police and sheriff tomorrow. Meanwhile, thanks so much for your genuine concern.
@meade--
I know that a real threat of physical harm is almost always a crime--so if this guy was doing what you say--and every law enforcement person you have reported it to (how many have you reported it to?) thinks it is a serious crime, then surely he will have been arrested?
Again I ask you--Has he been arrested?
I don't even need a conviction--just an arrest.
Lucid you are a lot more entertaining when you post under other names dude.
Now you are just being silly.

Nice evasion. If my friends and I said it to you in your living room, how would you take it? If my friends and I communicated it to you in an email, how would you take it? I'll tell you-- you would crap your pants.
@Meade--because youa re disturbed by someone's anger at you, it does not mean that they have committed a crime against you.
Many people in Wisconsin, I am sure, have been very disturbed and perhaps even harmed by what you have been blogging and posting and saying.
But that doesn't make you a criminal.
Why not? Perhaps she prefers to be be self-dramatizing?
Let me put you straight, little lucid.
When someone writes a 4-page manifesto against you, detailing your movements (which to have impact with the target, requires knowledge of your cotidian life, suggesting they've been following Meadehouse around town and asking questions of locals), saying they will F*CK YOU UP, and give you four "packages" of demands that you will have to choose, or else (...), that is a threat any day of the week.
This blame the victim crap from CERTAIN members of this blog is disgusting.
You think any one of us would tolerate a Right-winger doing this to a Lefty target? Hell, no. Immediate scorn and social ostracism.
lucid, why don't you call the Madison police or the Dane County sheriff's office if you really want to know? I suspect whatever answer I give you would just be perceived by you as "dramatizing." So I'll let you do your own leg work.
I wish Dan Riehl had asked these questions:
* Have you been questioned by anyone from a law enforcement agency about your Althouse Manifesto?
* What are the supposed acts of violence by Althouse and Meade that you claim give you the right to retaliate by threatening to "ruin your goddamn career, your comfort, yourpocketbook, your sense of safety and wellbeing, and your life"?
* Why do you live in a "cardboard structure" in an attic? Won't your "friends" let you come down and sleep in an actual room?
* What does your mother, Kim Shankman, think of your recent escapades?
But since we know that Shankman reads Althouse, we can ask him directly!

No, I don't agree. The silliest, most hilarious ones are when I use Edutcher and Fen as my screennames.
@meade--that's an evasion on your part of the point my question makes.
But keep me posted. I'm going to go read a book, but I'll check in later or tomorrow.

I'm just going to take a wild guess and bet you didn't do very well on those elementary school tests where you have to pick the two identical objects out of a group.
Lucid, you know he sound a lot like your best buddy Loughter. How did that work out. Why be an apologist for a loon unless you are a loon yourself.

Loughner/Fuller/Shankman: I don’t even know which faction these are coming out of. Like I said, I am a relative moderate among the more militant types within the movement. I’m just not plugged into the industrial sabotage/beating up scabs community.
Not a lone nut. Not even "a few" crazies. But an entire faction.
Waiting for our Democrats to whitewash the facism of their own. Again. Like the good little Eichmanns they are.

Hmm, in that case, let me ask questions of Mr Shankman-Asoah that I wish Dan Riehl had done.
1) What date did you start writing the Scribd piece?
2) Did you do so on your own or was it a group effort?
3) If alone, did you discuss its contents with anyone, like your girlfriend (who is very politically active herself)?
4) If yes, what did she say? Did she discourage you or disagree with your methods or tone?
5) What was the purpose of uploading this on a public site like Scribd, under your real name?
6) What would be your reaction if someone targeted you this way? Would you blow them off, or contact the authorities?
7) How do you survive if you're unemployed? Are you on any form of public assistance? Parental assistance? Mooching off the girlfriend?
I am very very grateful to Dan for contacting this numpty, but I do wish the interview had been less hurried and more detailed.
Cheers,
Victoria
lucid: Many people in Wisconsin, I am sure, have been very disturbed and perhaps even harmed by what you have been blogging and posting and saying.
Wow. Lucid seeks to justify future violence against Meade.
Go away little facist scum. Get your pathetic self back to the fever swamps at Democrat Underground.
Just read on Patterico's Pontifications that your poor widdle Shankman again changed his FB name. Now he is Ed Ward and in a relationship with Al Neon, who seems fond of ACORN.
Interesting to note also that via Jim Treacher now James O'Keefe is added to the people threatened. Apparently a Mike Clark from Memphis twittered,"someone needs to fucking find you and assassinate you. like, seriously. you get off by fucking up the truth. i should do it." How about if Law Enforcement actual arrested these uncivil morons? Like Jack Nicholson said they (progressives) can't handle the truth.
How queer, my latest reply hasn't shown up yet. It was a 7-part question followup to Murgatroyd's comment. :-/
Ken quoted:
Apparently a Mike Clark from Memphis twittered,"someone needs to fucking find you and assassinate you. like, seriously. you get off by fucking up the truth. i should do it.
You know, if nothing else, new media allows for these potentially murderous subjects to be unmasked quicker.
Or maybe not. See Jared Loughner...
Context is everything. If Shankman had a mullet, wore a Huckabee button, and directed such a screech against Nancy Pelosi, you may be sure that lucid could find grounds for arrest and/or commital......Shankman doesn't appear to be violent, but the bare facts of his life indicate that he is very eccentric and it would be difficult to predict how he will roll tomorrow. His threats are vague but that's part of their creepiness.
@meade--
As you can see, now some of your nutty minions are even accusing me of threatening violence. It is a pretty strange and disturbed group that you have gathered around you and who think they can speak for you.
Perhaps you should think about disowning them.
Lucid knows that there hasn't been an arrest yet ... because he's been cowering in fear in a cardboard box in someone's attic, and the cops haven't found him yet.
And come on, even a twit like lucid would take "we will ruin your goddamn career, your comfort, your pocketbook, your sense of safety and wellbeing, and your life" as a threat if we said that to him.
Jim Shankman (AKA Karl Asoah and Ed Ward, and possibly AKA J, Jay Retread, Jeremy, lucid, garage mahal, and Legion) strikes me as being uncomfortably similar to Jared Loughner, or to Ted "Unabomber" Kaczynski minus sixty IQ points. Right now he has his moment of fame and glory ... but what will he do for excitement when his fifteen minutes are up?

Perhaps "residing in a cardboard box in the attic of some friends" has left you profoundly incapable of rendering such fine distinctions.

One of the comments to Dan Riehl's piece calls him Jim Skankman, International Unemployed Dishwasher of Mystery.
Sometimes things get flagged as spam. I went in and liberated all the trapped comments.
Murgy, good idea. Allow me to reproduce it from memory.
Questions I wish Dan Riehl had asked the scoundrel, Jim Shankman.
1) What exact date did you start to write the Scribd piece?
2) What was the purpose of uploading this 4-part letter on a public documents site like Scribd, under your real name?
3) Did you write it alone, or was it a group effort? How many people?
4) If it was a group effort, did your girlfriend, Anna Ogden-Nussbaum, who shares your political beliefs on her site, contribute to it?
5) If someone wrote this exact letter addressed to you, would you contact the authorities?
6) You're unemployed: how do you live? Do you receive any form of public assistance? Parental assistance? Mooching off parents?
...I forget what #7 was. :-/
As you can see, now some of your nutty minions are even accusing me of threatening violence.

"[P]eople are getting ready for serious actions. Stuff that makes my letter to Althouse look like a childish prank..."

From the remote, super-cybertech fastness of his cardboard Hall of Justice.

Talk about drama queens, dude, look in the mirror.
Not a drama queen -- a drama queef.
lucid, stop being a tool. Local law enforcement, the Feds, they aren't going to arrest this turd on sight. What they will do is watch the little prick to see that he doesn't turn into a political problem.
If Althouse was a raging Union-supporting site, I'd be more worried about the proprietors.
Quoting the email response of the scoundrel, Jim Shankman, to Dan Riehl:
With regards to distributivism, it is very mainstream catholic theology. You could ask James O’Keefe, who says he is personally inspired by G.K. Chesterton. Chesterton is the main political philosopher of distributivism. The last couple pages of What’s Wrong With the World are instructive here. Someone equated distributivism with liberation theology, which is not the case. Distributivism is the stance that the church endorses AGAINST liberation theology, and you can see this in the theology of pope benedict during his disputes with the liberation theologians.
It could be that Dan Riehl misunderstood the original reply, but I am pretty sure Shankman said his economic theory is DISTRIBUTIONISM, not distributivism, which actually sounds more academic (although both are correct).
I could be wrong, but given the fact that the tone of the original interview made Mr Shankman sound far less polished than his manifesto and that THESE emails today sound more like the threat letter, I think he's either one of those people who is bettered by writing things down, than speaking them out loud, or that he's had help to write the manifesto and now his emails.
Wonder if anyone else agrees?
Michelle Dulak Thomson mentioned it in the first interview thread, but here is the debate about Distributionism between GK Chesterton and George Bernard Shaw.
Sigh. Can you imagine what it must have been like to live back when? Today we'd have Chris Hitchens versus George Galloway...
Lucid are you a Walker plant? If not then STFU because you are doing harm to the cause.
It is clear that saying you will fuck someone up is a threat. Not to long ago there was a homeless man that was arrested for public intox. He said to an officer "when I get out, I'm going to fuck you up".
He is now serving time for intimidation.
Slightly off-topic, but I can't resist.
The effervescent Ms. Spurs wrote:

Most actors spend their lives busting their balls trying to ensure that they don't have to live in pokey flats with no toilets, and this tool chooses to live that way!?!
Good grief.
Wonder if anyone else agrees?
Jimmy and his girlfriend, Anna Ogden-Nussbaum, seem to post jointly on their website for the "Free University of the General Strike." Yes, that seems plausible.
Here's an odd possibility: What if Anna wrote the Althouse Manifesto, and Jimmy wordsmithed it?
Victoria, as regards the change in Shankman's tone since yesterday, perhaps he's just starting to get more confident (in a sick, twisted way) now that people are paying so much attention to him.
Kensington, I've read that Vince has since retracted the claim. It did sound a bit like sarcasm to confound or mock bourgeois society (or a nod to the Brady Bunch).
Murgatroyd666 wrote:

If I were a betting woman, I'd wager a tonne on that. Good one, Murgatroyd. Kensington also has a valid point, mind, IMHO.
Further to the gal pal writing the actual manifesto, suggested by Murgatroyd, I think that would explain why so many commenters thought it had a female touch. I'm guessing because of its verbosity, not that I would know anything about that.
[...] he's had help to write the manifesto and now his emails.
Judging solely by the observable evidence, thus far: Shankman likely couldn't pass a blood test sans divine intervention, much less peck out anything more readily intelligible than a dyslexic's Scrabble hand.
lucid: As you can see, now some of your nutty minions are even accusing me of threatening violence. It is a pretty strange and disturbed group that you have gathered around you and who think they can speak for you.
Hey dumbass, no one accused you of threatening violence. I accused you of attempting to justify violence against Meade.
Idiot.
Remember, Victoria: Bill Ayers was the writer. Bernardine Dohrn was the murderous psychopath.

"dramatizing."
Your typical, weak deflection by Meade, especially considering the incessant hyperbole that spews from him and AA ie if Shankman was a serious threat, surely he would of already been arrested and AA and her tagalong would be keeping close tabs.
Yea, AA is always so detail oriented w/her laughable exaggerations, inane over-the-top generalizations. ;)
be afraid, be very afraid ...

What makes you so sure Shankman hasn't been arrested?
Didn't say I was sure, said if Shankman was a serious threat, surely he would of already been arrested and AA and her tagalong would be keeping close tabs.
As again, "reading comprehension" is not your strong suit, eh.
Actually, it is.
Here's an idea: Why don't you work on your writing skills and give us comments that are more comprehensible?
So if I follow your logic, if Shankman has been arrested, then we can assume his threat was "serious." Is that right? Because all "serious threats" always lead to arrests within, what, 24 hours?
Some questions for shiloh/lucid:
* The day before he murdered six people, was Jared Lee Loughner a "serious threat" to anyone?
* If on that day someone held the opinion that Jared Lee Loughner represented a "serious threat" to Rep. Giffords, on what grounds could he have been arrested?
* Since you seem to think that you possess superior knowledge in this area, would you please supply the names, in advance, of all the people who do represent "serious threats" to Althouse or Meade?
* Isn't it cold sleeping in that attic, even in a cardboard box?
... surely he would of already been arrested ...
In the same comment:
As again, "reading comprehension" is not your strong suit, eh.
Irony-impaired people can be amusing.
Actually answering your continual deflections w/a deflection of my own ...
It is interesting you appear more "worried" about my writing skills, again a weak deflection, than the unlikely possibility Shankman is an actual threat to your well-being!
>
Jared Lee Loughner lol
m666 and Meade would make a great deflection team ~ ok, that's a lie.
logic-impaired folk can also be amusing, although m666/Meade are more pathetic than amusing ...
Riehl didn't ask where talking and then voting stands relative to the comfort zone.
I dont think Shankman will be arrested. Heck, there still hasnt been an arrest of the jerk who sent the death threats to Walker and the rest. It was published that the cops know who he is, but they havent made his name public or arrested him. Now why is that do you think???
Okay boys and girls! Times up. Pencils down. Hands off the keyboard.
Shankman is:
A.) Feckless leftoid fuckwit
B.) The reincarnation of Gavrilo Princep
close the thread
And this illustrates the collective guilt of the Wisconsin cops, teachers, politicians, etc. They refuse to enforce civil standards, or the law, while people are threatened, buildings are vandalized and Constitutional norms are ignored. Having refused to say "Stop" at any of those junctures, they will be responsible when one of their number kills or badly injures someone. They want it, they caused it, they own it.
"I’m just not plugged into the industrial sabotage/beating up scabs community."
Well, its good to know that such a "community" exists up there in peaceful white bread Wisconsin.
Wannabe revolutionary communist drama queens is what the unionistas are.
When greedy libtards say "take our country back" that means they want more of your money.
..More freebies, more paid vacation, more time off, more free health care, more budget busting fully paid retirement pensions - all on you.
"living off the land" aka dumpster diving and freeloading.
Living in a cardboard box is recycling. The thing may even have insulation value.
On cold nights, use two boxes.
So far, L.L.Bean hasn't put out comfort ratings, but I don't see why they shouldn't be among the wares of that fine outfit.
A little marketing is all it needs.
Shankman's repeated allusions to his more radical acquaintances needs serious checking out. I'd like to think it's purely a production of his addled imagination, but I actually doubt it.
I hope the police's clear sympathy with the protesters don't result in a half-assed investigation.
We saw the woman in Ann's other video who had not a care in the world about judges who take sides. I wonder how she would react to a politically motivated police force. OK so long as they're on her side?
This has turned into quite the short-term win-win scenario all around.
@ Meade:
The chimp is using you as its online porn.
Don't be chimp porn.
Except maybe for Mr. Lucid. He probably ruptured something moving those goalposts.
How come no one has Photoshopped "This is what a douchenozzle looks like" onto the sign in Shankman's photo?
World to Shankman: "WASH MY DISHES, BITCH -- !!!"
Shankman's letter to Althouse was childish, certainly. This sounds like a more direct threat. If it were directed at me, I'd be on my way over to the NRA range to practice. Just in case.
My wife is of the opinion that the Left deliberately tries to incite crazy losers to get their 15 minutes of fame trying to kill or injure conservatives or, in the case of Gabby Giffords, Blue Dog Democrats. It's a plausible theory.
BTW, my wife used to be a Democrat, but lately she can't stand them.
I read the stuff Riehl posted. Shankman is mentally ill. But, obviously, mentally ill people can be dangerous. The guy probably suffers from a delusional disorder, although I'm not a psychiatrist, psychologist or social worker. (I just play one on the web.)
He's probably just the kind of whacko that someone could convince to do something violent because the right wing terrorists are attacking or preparing to attack. How serious is he about "taking our country back?" Let's hope he can't find his way out of his cardboard box.
The baseballs on your lawn sounds like something children do.
This would be an illegal act. Littering and vandalism if nothing else.
In the New America everybody from NFL players to teachers seem to get death threats, but I have to side with Althouse and Meade on this one.
Even so-called "pranks" from a self-proclaimed non-violent person should be reported to the police and taken seriously as one never knows whether this is just rhetorical jive, or the tip of a dangerous mind. That said, I noticed when I complained about the violent language used by some bloggers towards others on this site folks laughed at my concern.
I can totally picture Shankman running around asking "Have you seen my baseball?".
It's all about you, R-V.
I can totally picture Shankman running around asking "Have you seen my baseball?".
"This is what my play group looks like!"
@RV:
HUGE difference between "violent language" used in debate and direct threats of death or injury. There is no equivalency between what happens in the comments of a blog and what Shankman has done.
Shankman, however, is not an isolated incident. There have been dozens of direct and specific death threats against Republicans who voted with Walker, as well as towards Walker himself.
Is that what democracy looks like?
folks laughed at my concern.
Clutch those pearls any harder, and they just might liquify.
I'll bet a thousand Schrute bucks that Shankman makes Obama look like Nolan Ryan when he throws. In fact, if someone does throw a baseball through a window we'll know it wasn't him. If it bounces off, he's our man.
Many people in Wisconsin, I am sure, have been very disturbed and perhaps even harmed by what you have been blogging and posting and saying.
But that doesn't make you a criminal.
Are you trying to make up your own little "law of privileges" that would justify someone "defending" themselves? You sure go a long way defending threats of violence.
A woman I worked with son once got arrested for threatening when he told a cop, who stopped him for a minor traffic violation, "What goes around, comes around."
Many people in Wisconsin, I am sure, have been very disturbed and perhaps even harmed by what you have been blogging and posting and saying.
If Meadehouse committed liable or such by what they've said, they can be held responsible in court. With Ann being a lawyer, you can be assured no liable is being committed. If you are disturbed or harmed by your public actions being made more public, tough shit. You should show better judgment and more restraint.
As for you, you seem only a half step saner than Shankman.
Here's a pretty good look at the death threats in Wisconsin.
How soon will the author and her boyfriend become the Left's media darlings?
$25k speaking fee, opening act for Bill Ayers
The Great Iowahawk once is reported to have said "never stop laughing at the left." I concur, so I very much thank lincolntf for this:
In fact, if someone does throw a baseball through a window we'll know it wasn't him. If it bounces off, he's our man.

That's GOLD Jerry, GOLD!
"some of us who are serious about taking our country back"
A few short months ago Tea Party use of the phrase "take our country back" proved their racism.
Ah, memories.
If this is his mother
s bio from culturalcrossroads dot org, it would explain *everything:

Once more, with feeling: "IOKIYAD!!!"
Living in a box (seriously?) in the attic is not "living off the land" it is "mooching". Look it up, Shankman.
What kind of shitty ass friends would make you live in a box, anyway? Unless you asked to do, because you think it makes you more oppressed. This guy is so very, very lame.

Judging from his photo...? The kind that know damned good and well he isn't even remotely housetrained.
RV: Excellent point regarding threats of violence on this site. Put out a citizens arrest warrant for J and Jeremey
His supposed g.f. worked as a library assistant at Benedictine?
The dots are connecting.

AH! Good one!
I'm such a hypocrite about searching people online. I tell myself it's kinda creepy, that I won't do it myself (although I looked up Kim Shankman's photo and posted it), but I love it when others find the goods.
wv: ratinger (Pope Benny is watching me)
lucid, just go up to a police officer and announce to him you are going to fuck him up.
since it's not a real threat you will experience no difficulties.
Victoria,
Sigh. Can you imagine what it must have been like to live back when? Today we'd have Chris Hitchens versus George Galloway...
Amen. I respect Hitchens (while disagreeing with about half of what he says), but there just isn't debate on that level now. Not even in print, let alone in real time.
wv: mitivise. Advise on how to mitigate?
@dadvocate--
as you are clearly an expert on being fucked up, perhaps you can tell us how you got to be so fucked up?
are you fucked up as the result of bad decisions on your own part?
were you just born in a fucked up state?
or did your parents fuck you up?
or was it something else that has fucked you up so badly?
I am assuming that none of the above ways of fucking you up involved violence or physical aggression.
Now, read this a couple of times and think about it and see if you can get the point.
I'm confident that you can do it if you try.
If Ann wants Shankman arrested, rather than as fodder for self-promotion and self-dramtization, it appears that the police are going to have to inform the Professor about the constitution and free speech.
"it appears that the police are going to have to inform the Professor about the constitution and free speech."
Will that be before the ambulances arrive at her door, or after?
What about Mr. Shankman gives him the authority to speak on behalf of all Madisonians? Has he been elected to any post or office? Or is he taking his cue from labor unions who presume to talk smack on behalf of all working people, even the American people ("This is what Democracy sounds like."), many of whom are forced to join them and pay them dues.
His "office" appears to be a cardboard box in someone else's attic.
Had it not been for Jared Loughner, John Hinckley and Mark David Chapman we could laugh him off, but with the new tone of civility, he really needs to be checked out.
