"I’m one of the Fabulous 14 and I’m so proud... We are back to unite and fight with our supporters. We gave them hope. They gave us inspiration."
Says a Democratic Senator. Says a Republican: "Today, the most shameful 14 people in the state of Wisconsin are going to pat themselves on the back and smile for the cameras... They’re going to pretend they’re heroes for taking a three-week vacation. It is an absolute insult to the hundreds of thousands of Wisconsinites who are struggling to find a job, much less one they can run away from and go down to Illinois — with pay."

They failed, but their intentions were, in their minds, good.
That is all that counts in the liberal world.
How does an attempted coup d'etat by a minority mob get to "look like democracy?"
Hey! Only Barack Obama is allowed to pretend his abject failures are victories!
Fabulous 14? That's enough to make someone hurl their curds.
"I'm so prod of myself, I fled to Illinois, got no t-shirt, or anything for my constituents. Pat Me on the back, Tell me how wonderful I am."
War is peace. Freedom is slavery. Ignorance is strength.
I will repeat my questions from another thread. I am reading all about recall drives against Scott Walker and against Republican senators. Why aren't there any recall drives against these 14 dorks? Are you Wisconsinites for real?
Didn't the law get passed?
How did they win?
Oh, wait - they awoke a sleeping giant. That was the victory. The liberals finally got off their fat duffs and had a demonstration.
Great riposte by Fitzgerald.
Public sector Unions still get way more than the rest of us.
The unionists are whining because they have to commit a tiny bit of their own money towards their own retirement and healthcare... and own up to a small level of accountability.
In reality - the WI bill does not go far enough. Public sector Unions should be abolished. They should be illegal. They are an affront to liberty, freedom, and fairness in America.
"Why aren't there any recall drives against these 14 dorks?"
I thought there were... here you go.
I remember when the Fabulous 14 were on Ed Sullivan. It was pandemonium!
Posturing failures.

Actually, it's the way the Left wins. Soon the Fabulous 14 will be shortened to the even catchier Fab 14, and more to the point, this whole episode will be spun by the MSM into the sympathy inducing tale of a heroic band of sexy rebels pitted against brute force. Repeated endlessly, as if by osmosis the Fab 14 will eventually sink into the collective brain as shorthand for courage in the face of ruthless power.
One of the things I hate most about politicians is the self-congratulation. Hearing other people refer to the runaway politicians as "fabulous" is eyeroll-inducing enough; one of the politicians referring to himself that way is even worse.
A hot female police officer arrests a man for burglary. "Anything you say can and will be held against you," she warns.
"Your tits," the man replies.

Isn't there a rule against giving yourself a nickname?
I thought only insecure douche bags did that ....
"The incident at Fukushima Daiichi has received a level 4 rating on the International Atomic Energy Agency’s (IAEA) International Nuclear and Radiological Event Scale (INES), lower than both the 1986 Chernobyl disaster (rated 7 on the 7-point scale) and the 1979 Three Mile Island accident (rated 5)."
From a link posted by my physicist/materials science friend:
ok
Yes, of course the Fleebagger Democrats have behaved shamefully with their political stunt.
You might expect Republicans to behave less shamefully, less politically, and more maturely. Instead of focusing on scoring political points, they ought to focus solely on solving fiscal problems.
I'm disappointed, therefore, to see Scott Fitzgerald, the Republican senate majority leader, attending to politics first. His ego and his political affiliation seem to be more important to him than doing his job.
He and the other Republicans should just go about their business in a professional way. Why can't they just completely ignore the douchebag Fleebaggers?
I guess the mud around the Capitol exists to be flung around. How sad!
Since the fleebaggers came back that means that passing the union decertification bill was needed for the affordable budget reform bill.
I'd love to know if the Fleebaggers used their state credit cards for any of their expenses at all.
Well, I guess it was just silly of me to think that the tragedy in Japan would give the protesters some perspective and lend to a more somber tone.
from huffpo: "Wisconsin GOP Senators Pass Anti-Union Bill Without Democrats Present"
you seriously can't make this stuff up. shades of someone asking for leniency because they are orphans at their sentencing for murdering their parents.
The dirty 14
Make that "The Fabulous Fleebagging Fourteen"
Fabulous 14?
You mean like a double Magnificent 7?
We are back to fight now that the battle has been lost? Too cute.
Who's their PR Guy, Baghdad Bob?

They're well remembered at the Tilted Kilt, I'm sure.
PS Taking care of fiscal problems is what the Republicans have been doing the last 3 weeks, Julie.
It's your side that's obsessed with scoring political points.
And, from the look of the latest poll, that might not be going too well, either.
WV "upplaya" Charlie Sheen
I think that MayBee had suggested that now that the Republicans put through that anti-union bill that it would allow the Democrats to return, give them an "out" of sorts.
I have nothing against giving people a face-saving way to get out of the pickle they put themselves into, and it did break the stalemate and allow the Democrats to return.
And of course they will try to make themselves out to be courageous. And of course the other side will point out that they aren't.
That's okay.
They're back?
Does this have anything to do with Daylight Savings? "Springing forward" means one hour less, t'marra.
You mean you need a reason why they came home? Maybe, they just ran out of clean sox and underwear?

What "side" do you presume I'm on? I'm a registered Republican, and (since the last election, at least) I vote exclusively Republican or Libertarian.
You seem like a total imbecile in the way you see everything as a dichotomy of Left v. Right.
Winning.
"Well, I guess it was just silly of me to think that the tragedy in Japan would give the protesters some perspective..."
Now, as ever, the protesting twits believe that whatever selfish emotion they feel at the moment should be the focus of the entire Universe. The "suffering masses" are only useful when the Libs are raising funds to build giant puppet heads or build phony crap piles.

Of course, you do.

You mean the way you do?
Fraudulent 14 is more apt.
For some strange brain-wiring reason I sometimes get Julius confused with R-V.

Um, you're about 3 weeks late, Paco. Didn't they tell you? You blew it. Your earliest opportunity now will be the next election, in 2012.
See you then, douchenozzle.
In the words of BHO. "We won. You lost. Get over it" In the words of me. Go fuck yourselves.
Fabulous!!!

No: I'll save that serenade for the Paddy's Day Pro-Walker party kids.
Damn, that skirt was cute.
this whole episode will be spun by the MSM into the sympathy inducing tale of a heroic band of sexy rebels pitted against brute force.
I'll bet money that in Hollywood, the negotiations over the movie to be made of this incident have already started.
Fabulous 14?
I didn't realize they were drag queens.

Yep...Aaron Sorkin is all over this one. Ben Affleck as Mark Miller, Jada Pinkett-Smith as Lena Taylor and Ron Perlman with some really grotesque makeup as Scott Walker.
It's gold, Jerry!
ricpic nails it. It's a 24/7/365 drum-beat--like cosmic back-ground radiation--an ever-present universal constant absorbed over time as if, as you say, by osmosis, i.e., political elevator muzak. Only the MSM makes it so that there's no escape from the propaganda elevator--they make sure to keep it constantly in play.
how can anyone be considered or consider themselves fabulous or heroic after fleeing the field of battle? If thats the case wouldn't France be considered the most heroic nation on the face of the earth?
