And I suspect that the "friend" you mention in your article is "Mini Crack".
But in all seriousness: I saw this video on Ace-o-Spades, I think, and it's a cute recap of recent hypocrisies of the left. I sort of wondered about the hair flip at the end too, but I thought an editor probably thought it would make a good decoration under the credits, so he rescued it from the out-takes pile.
I've never seen Ham as smug. She smiles a lot; I see her more as cheerful. I don't think "grim and humorless" will win the day in the field of internet infotainment.
It just looks like video from before or after the actual speaking part she was doing. It looked to me as though she was following directions from the camera operator to move around - she does and looks back and laughs.
I could be wrong, I don't watch her much. Does she do the hair flip all the time? Regardless of what was going on, it wasn't part of the presentation, whoever edited the video just stuck it in there.
My first thought when I saw the title was that "Crack v. Bacon" is a better addiction question. Which would be harder to break? I assumed Althouse was channeling Instapundit and his bacon-centric postings. But no.
Is anyone here going to tell me - after the criticism of Newsweek as "staleness, meaning a lack of both a) editorial imagination and b) news" - that MKH is presenting anything in that video we didn't already know, about either liberals or "the new tone"?
Crack is easily the most annoying commenter on this blog. More annoying than the trolls. Virtually everything he posts contains a link back to his site.
Look, there he is now. Posting something about...his own blog post (I guess it doesn't need a link since there's already one in the Althouse entry). But he did manage to *quote* his own post, so give him points for that.

No insult to Meade, but the same thing could be said of the Meadehouse videos of WI…..oh well. Sorry about your loss Crack, but Ham is cuter than you and truth to tell, funnier…and you’ve never had to put up with that crank old man, Bill O’Reilly talking all over you about the dangers of the Intarwebz….she’s paid her dues. Further, “this week in the news, with Peeps” was sheer genius and that carries her over this, admittedly, less brilliant oeuvre.

I hate to break it to you but I'm an Althouse hillbilly, a regular, who's also commented on most of the important topics of the day - long before they became the most of the important topics of the day - and I'm almost always on the correct side.
Look, there he is now. Posting something about...his own blog post (I guess it doesn't need a link since there's already one in the Althouse entry). But he did manage to *quote* his own post, so give him points for that.
I didn't quote my own post, I quoted Mickey Kaus, so you're wrong twice. And just to enrage you some more - since you seem to think backing up what you say by putting links on the internet is wrong (what do you think the internet is for?) - here's my first criticism of Ham.
There's something about the editing/music/graphics of the video that drives me up the wall. It seems to be somebody's idea of what webbiness is supposed to feel like... somebody I just can't stand. Not Ham per se, but the video aesthetic. It's not cute, it's not up-to-date, it's not exciting... but it seems to think it is, and I can't look at it or even overhear it without feeling inexplicably angry. It's like a bad commercial from the 70s. It's not the actress's fault.
Crack...I agree that Ham is not a creative talker like you are, but she is a force that pushes opinions in the right direction. In a war we had better accept everyone on our side and not pick on their style flaws. And what's wrong with graduating from the world's best party school, the University of Georgia?
She makes good points, if not original, she looks good making them, and she’s FUNNY, Crack, all the things you AREN’T….sorry she’s the Carl Sagan of the Conservative Movement. Sagan hadn’t made any real scientific discoveries in DECADES, but he sure did a great job of popularizing Science. So too, MKH. So MKH is better than Crack…again sorry. Mayhap Jean Jacques Rousseau was the better intellectual but Voltaire was the one who made the Enlightenment, fun and well known…We are many parts, we are all one body.
Thanks. I'm listening to Rush right now and he's making the same "men in dresses" point I made about those on "our side" this morning - that they're identical to the other side.
Ham. Crack is jealous and his friend is horny. Crack wishes he had this kind of national exposure. (Sounds like the "friend" has some wish fulfillment issues, too. Haha.) Crack concludes that Ham only gets attention because she's a cute girl. Based on this one video. Now THAT is a lame, stale, tired argument. Ham does a lot more than just this one video, whatever you think of it. I'll choose a happy warrior over a grim jealous bossy bitch* any day.
*The blow job reference was extremely bitchy. Very passive and very aggressive.
Jeez Crack, look really hard and attempt to find a life. This was a cute, good-natured shiv to the ribs of all the lefties who jumped on the Tucson "opportunity" to make some political hay and try slow the right's momentum.
Was Ham's piece original? No. But it was entertaining and fun. Didn't like it? that's your prerogative. As for the hair flip, it was clearly the addition of outtakes by whomever edited it. Even if SHE edited it, big fucking deal.
I was once asked to do a video segment, as the conservative voice, for a San Francisco-based program called Today. My segment was called "Taboos Today" and it became so popular it had to be cancelled because it was more popular than the liberal content. The liberals who worked on the program rebelled and said, if I wasn't removed, they'd quit. They just couldn't handle that a Bush supporter could articulate his position in a manner that would be effective, in San Francisco, during the height of Bush hating.
My point is, I'm not criticizing MKH out of the blue - I've done it. And there's nothing special about what she's doing. If anything, she takes up space someone better could have:
Good looks count for something, good ideas are better.

Shorter Crack, Waaaaaaah Mary Katherine Ham has more and better press than me…..
I’m by no means a fan of you Crack, but really I expected a little better from you than that. Ham gets eyeballs, you get fewer….now you sound like Democrats, “dumb ole voters, just don’t see how smart we are! What’s wrong with them!?” Geeeez, J just comes in and trolls he doesn’t whine that his/her site gets a whole lot less traffic than other folks. And when J is doing a better job than you, in something besides Anti-Semiticism, you got problems. Ham’s more popular, gee like McDonald’s has more customers, don’t complain about McDonald’s improve your menu…….
How many of you have met Mary Katherine personally (and she does not go by Mary Kate -it is Mary Katherine)? She is not a light-weight, she is not an air-head. She has a good brain on her shoulders and a sweet personality with a bit of impishness included. I think she's a great spokesperson for conservatism.
Also, she has been supporting the military for as long as I've known her. I met her at the very first Milblogger convention in DC some years back.
I commented over at Crack's place but I'll repeat it here. I've never been that impressed with Ham. She's not bad or anything, but she's certainly not original.
Then again, most of the stuff in the blogosphere is just circular reporting anyway, with various bloggers saying the same things over and over in slightly different but mostly insignificant ways. Rarely does anyone bring anything new to any story.
Perhaps that is one reason I enjoy House of Meade here as Ann always seems to bring a new, and sometimes really damn unusual, spin to the same ole stuff.
I pick Crack, because I could get his opinion by just reading it. I can't stand watching videos on the internet. It takes time to download; and once you have it, the time to watch it is twice as long as the time needed to read the transcript.
There are prejudices, and there are prejudices. It looked pretty harmless, and the fact that she is cute made it more watchable. I'm tolerant of hair flips even if their intent is manipulative. If cute girls want to flip hair, I say let them....Madeline Albright never flips her hair. That tells you all you need to know about hair flips.
I vote Ham 2011. She's endearing and snarky but never comes off as bitter. Remember the voter registration drive PSA she did for the, I think, 2006 elections? "I'm doing something exciting tonight...I'm logging on GOP.com to sign up voters." And it's made to look like a late-night singles hotline commercial. It was fuuuuunny.
Shorter Crack, Waaaaaaah Mary Katherine Ham has more and better press than me…..

You miss the point entirely. As I've said, Rush is making the same point today - we're not bringing it. Support for MKH is support for the status quo. It's same ol' same ol' and nothing more.
Today James O'Keefe drove a knife into NPR. He did the same thing to ACORN. Others did it to Planned Parenthood. Glenn Beck has driven people out of this administration. I know they work a different angle than MKH, but that's what we could, and should, be doing daily. Instead, we're too busy applauding a pretty face for,...merely being there.
Could I do a better job? Of course, I could - but that's not the point of what I blogged. I blogged exactly what I said;
Well, if I have to choose, I'd choose Ham for a fairly simple reason: The more the merrier and for some reason Crack doesn't see that.
Original, stale, whatever. She's a positive voice and in today's technological age I have a hard time believing she's "pushing out more effective voices" simply because of her looks.
Sound more like those grapes were sour any way to me…..I’m sorry not everyone is James O’Keefe or Brietbart or has to be….again, WE ARE MANY PARTS WE ARE ALL ONE BODY.
Does anybody recognize over-the-top absurdity when they see it (demonstrating absurdity by being absurd - Bonus points: Whose on-the-air claim as a schtick is that anyway)?
C'mon ... the 'loyal opposition' supplied (from what I could see) all the in-the-field action shots from protests ... and Ham is set up for excoriation?
By her parish priest or the Lady's Community Speech-code Guild I could see .. but 'yous guys' ... c'mon ...
Well, if I have to choose, I'd choose Ham for a fairly simple reason: The more the merrier and for some reason Crack doesn't see that.
Original, stale, whatever.
Sorry, guys, but I'm online today:
"Original, stale, whatever."
Then the criticisms of the "new" Newsweek are wrong and unwarranted, right? We don't have to demand better standards, or effectiveness, or anything - it's all about smiling, and hair flips, and repeating what you already know. That's the "new conservatism" now.
C'mon, you know better. "The more the merrier", sure, but at least lets make them good.
C'mon, you know better. "The more the merrier", sure, but at least lets make them good..
Here’s the thing Crack…she’s been doing this a while and she’s STILL here…we’ll see about Newsweek….Sorry she’s more popular than you, and I tell you, that is what your complaints basically come off as….she’s further up the Media Food Chain, she’s on Althouse, she’s at HotAir, she’s at AoSHQ and Crack is not. All I can say is that, for the moment, the Market Has Spoken. Stop railing at McDonald’s and improve your marketing or your menu, because it’s not McDonalds’ fault if they have more customers.
I stopped clicking her links long ago, almost exactly for the reasons Crack cites: she's saying not much new. Nothing wrong with an attractive person making a sales pitch; but when I could basically write the same script simply by cribbing from various blogs the week before, then she's adding nothing. Nothing in a pretty package, maybe, but nothing.
In a sense, that makes her a lot like Sean Hannity. Once upon a time, I thought Hannity did some good stuff on his radio show; but today, it's all stale. What I notice is: bloggers echo Rush, but Hannity echoes bloggers. He's behind the curve, sometimes by days or more, and he often misses points that blogs catch. So there's nothing new there.
But what puzzles me, Crack, is why Mary Katherine Ham is worth your time and your effort? This puzzles me repeatedly: in between your good posts, you often get upset about stuff that just strikes me as inconsequential.
But what puzzles me, Crack, is why Mary Katherine Ham is worth your time and your effort? This puzzles me repeatedly: in between your good posts, you often get upset about stuff that just strikes me as inconsequential.
Because Crack is like Gallagher, he’s not on the Top 100 Comedians list and he thinks he ought to be……

Joe said... (The Crypto Jew)......... Because Crack is like Gallagher, he’s not on the Top 100 Comedians list and he thinks he ought to be……
You are just wrong Joe. You should know that Crack comes from a distinguished show business family.
I just don't get it. You claim to be a Crypto Jew and everybody knows the Jews control show business. At least that's what Charlie Sheen says. Don't the Jews talk to the Cryto Jews? I don't get it. Please explain.
If you keep repeating the voices in your head I'm going to ignore you.
Would you care to address anything I've said without going the jealousy route?
You haven’t said anything that can’t be summarized as Mary Katherine Ham has higher profile than me and it’s not FAIR!
I’d say she’s LESS confrontational than you…more RELIGIOUS than you…CUTER than you…and gosh-darn it more POPULAR than you…and if you can’t change how you write or market what you write; she will remain so.
And B!tching about how she takes ‘space” others might better use, simply confirms the jealousy thing…sorry if that TRUTH, something you seem very fond of, when you wield it against OTHERS, is wielded against you.
You might learn some Humility from this…The TRUTH is, Ham, for the moment, does a better job of advancing the Right/Libertarian Agenda than you and if you can’t handle that Truth; I don’t think there’s much to Crack Emcee and his “philosophy.” You can hide behind the illusion that people just like cute white grrrrrls if you want, that’s no better than believing in Homeopathy, IMO. In short Crack, my man, this is a chance for you to live what you preach, and unflinching acceptance of the Truth, Mary Katherine Ham is a bigger star than you are…and unless you change YOU, more than likely she will remain so.
And the very fact that this thread exists, proves this is about jealousy…Ham doesn’t write about Crack, probably because she doesn’t know you exist, but Crack has to write about her….you are insulting up, and it’s obvious. As I say, sorry you aren’t in the Top 100 Comedians list, mayhap one day you will be, but today you aren’t….rather than blame Bob Hope, Mr. Gallagher, I’d recommend that you step up your game.
I just don't get it. You claim to be a Crypto Jew and everybody knows the Jews control show business. At least that's what Charlie Sheen says. Don't the Jews talk to the Cryto Jews? I don't get it. Please explain.
Dood, I’m a Crypto Jew, and UNDERCOVER Jew. My cover is Devout Catholic, I can’t be seen consorting with the other “Hook-Noses” and they can’t be seen with a “Mackeral-Snapper”, it’d blow our covers. I only know MY part of the Giant Zionist Plan to Dominate the World….which I really can’t reveal without circumcising you and then placing the foreskin in a safe…..I hope you understand.
Joe you gotta stop doggin' my brother from another mother. He has been feeling poorly lately and indulging in too much Hennessy and coke lately. So he has been having some bad dreams.
What puzzles me, Crack, is why Mary Katherine Ham is worth your time and your effort? This puzzles me repeatedly: in between your good posts, you often get upset about stuff that just strikes me as inconsequential.
Thanks, Mr. Shoemaker. Part of it is Glenn Reynolds. After a few Instalaunches, I've come to understand the power he holds, and the sway he has on the thinking of the Right. And it can be insulting the way he props up certain people, or ideas, to the detriment of others - based on the same criteria many have voiced here:
A pretty face. A nice demeanor. Whether or not they're willing to get along.
The Macho Response is partially about the NewAge attitudes that wrongly make people hate men. Men aren't always nice - they sometimes have to, for instance, discipline the kids. (Makes the kids hate them, with the proper prompting.) Men don't always have a great demeanor - they have to annoyingly work to support the others, and chase off predators, and sometimes lay down the law on what's right and wrong - even to their wives. (Makes the wives hate them, with the proper prompting.) Men, today, even have other men - the kinds Rush is talking about, today, on the Right - criticizing them for BEING MEN. And it's sickening.
Glenn Reynolds, if you ask me, is part of that process. Glenn Beck wouldn't have done the good he's done - with his "crazy" reputation - if he had to rely on the likes of Glenn Reynolds for support. But a nobody like Mary Kathrine Ham, amongst others, can be guaranteed the Instapundit's full support because they fit the almost-inhuman mold he's drawn to (I do wonder what planet these people are on sometimes.) Hell, prostitutes on Frisky can count on Glenn Reynolds more than the brilliant rabble rousers at iOwnTheWorld or me at TMR. (iOwnTheWorld posts my shit all the time, as I do theirs.) It's almost like "real" men, and hardcore conservatives, have to beat the man about the head to say we count - which is another way he's the same as the Left.
Considering he's married to Dr. Helen - who I respect a lot more, as I do Ann, when it comes to the courage to speak to important issues - it's just wild.
Ok Joe I won't press the issue. I will admit that you do have one good point. It is really annoying and cheeszy when somebody is always linking back to their blog.
That's really low rent. Only a real douchenozzle would do that!
All I know is when I have a TV show will you play the cool black guy? You know like Huggy Bear or Rooster. I bet you gotz some of them big ass hats in your crib.
She lacks the ability to tie every problem in the universe to New Age and dismiss all other issues as unimportant!
Now we're talkin'!
But you tell me:
If the Right did tie the Left to NewAge, as it did Pat Robertson, etc. to the Right - and I'm talking about the killings, quackery, cultism and everything - are you telling me we wouldn't undermine them? Even a little bit?
if you ask me, to ignore that elephant in the room - when you claim you're trying to win - is a crime.
Considering he's married to Dr. Helen - who I respect a lot more, as I do Ann, when it comes to the courage to speak to important issues - it's just wild.
Maybe he hits his quota of “men are always getting screwed and here is how much” links linking to his wife. Because there is one of those every day, it seems like. So it crowds you out.
Ham has an attractive, non-threatening quality about her. The kind of girl you'd never date intentionally - I mean, imagine sharing an egg salad sandwich with her!
But just try getting caught under an umbrella with her, and before you know it you're in bed. Her bed.
And I agree totally with what Crack has to say about being a man. The differance is that he gets mad and I just laugh at you girly hipster dofous pussies. You ain't worth getting my balls in an uproar. And that goes for that pussy Instapundit too!
Must be the fact that MKH is winning that has undone the famous Wisconsin civility & politeness that we were all told was so prevalent during the recent events in Madison.
To me it's not a black and white choice. I think Ham brings something to the party that you, Crack, can't. Namely her very cuteness. Considering that not every person that is open to hearing the conservative message is also open to taking the time for deliberate and substantive discussion I think Ham fills a needed role in meeting the need for a less serious approach.
Dude I am totally serious. When I start "Trooper York's Brooklyn" I will be venturing into nooks and crannies of the greatest place on earth. One of the places is "Gaithers Soul Pub" on the corner of Saratoga Ave and Atlantic Ave in do or die Bed Stuy. I have been passing it by for thirty years and never had the stones to go in. But I figure if I have you and some camera's I can buy a shot of Hennessey for the house and pass out a few packs of Newports and we can talk to the regulars and find out what their life is like. It will be way cool.
A pretty face. A nice demeanor. Whether or not they're willing to get along.
From what I've read of Glenn, you are closer with the pretty face, but nice assets are always a plus. Still, all looks and no brains doesn't get a link from him, unless through Zombieland. After all, Chirac is a worm, but that picture of the prostestor is great eye candy.
If anybody's insufferable, it's Crack. As I've said before, I generally agree with him on the purely political, but I sure get tired of his obsession with the New Age, and his constant bullying of those who dabble a toe across some mystical macho boundary. I turned the corner on him when he flamed me for saying I saw a beautiful sunset. I don't care how fucked up your childhood was, its still OK to appreciate beauty.
Mary Katherine is an entertainer. She has the qualities of an entertainer, and she entertains me. Crack, not so much.
are you telling me we wouldn't undermine them? Even a little bit?
if you ask me, to ignore that elephant in the room - when you claim you're trying to win - is a crime.
That's not the game I'm playing, personally. And I suspect that it's a game that can't be won, given that the Left set up the rules and definitions. The Right lost when it applied the label of "The Right" to itself.
A light reminder of the hypocrisy of the entrenched powers is a good thing. (And this coming from someone who has never found MKH to be particularly cute.)
Also, M-Kat has held her own on "Red Eye" in the past, which scores her some extra points in my book.
The bromance here is strong. I'm surprised Jeremy isn't here wishing he was included.
I agree with Crack on the Glenn Reynold's pushing the process along. It's the circular reporting I was talking about . . . the same people are able to echo essentially the same thoughts until it all becomes the same thing. Unless you count the flipping of the hair . . . Reynolds can't do that . . . at least not very well I bet.
Another republican sweetie-pie Crack would lose against.
I'd lose against all of them, because they'd circle the wagons (all of a sudden, "the more the merrier" wouldn't count) which means they're no better than liberals.
So what "good" are they?
They don't make liberals look bad, they make themselves look worse.
Then the criticisms of the "new" Newsweek are wrong and unwarranted, right?
If it can still maintains its following with it, then yes.
Of course, if it loses its following for it, then no.
Last I checked MKH isn't losing her following. And you've not presented any evidence she's driving people off of conservatism. You've also not presented any evidence she's driving out better (however you decide to define it) voices.
Crack said: "I'd lose against all of them, because they'd circle the wagons..."
OK, while I don't agree with it, I can understand criticism of Ham. (And I agree with Althouse -- the aesthetics on this particular video are very, very bad. I'm not sure if they were going for some sort of retro feel here or what, but they missed.)
But this broad-brush criticism of "all of them", where the "them" is apparently cute young conservative women...I think your feelings of persecution at the hands of women are showing through.
And for my money, the cutest is actually Malkin -- who's also one of the smartest and most aggressively conservative. What's your take on Michelle Malkin, Crack? Just another pretty face?
"And for my money, the cutest is actually Malkin -- who's also one of the smartest and most aggressively conservative. What's your take on Michelle Malkin, Crack? Just another pretty face?"
Malkin's kind of hot if you're into that exotic kind of thing. She's also definately aggressive, which is also kind of hot if you are into that kind of thing.
I'd lose against all of them, because they'd circle the wagons (all of a sudden, "the more the merrier" wouldn't count)
Like so much else here, you make claims, but present no evidence.
Of course, walking into a crowded room and announcing "All you M-Fers are idiots" is a pretty good way to get a group to circle the wagons against you.
You want people to treat you in a "The more the merrier" manner, it helps to treat others the same way.
Crack, why wait for a film crew? I think most of those YouTube videos are just webcams anyway, or at least many of them are.
I was going to buy a camera over Christmas but my computer's too old to work with them. If I can think of a way to get it going, I will, but so far, no luck.
What's your take on Michelle Malkin, Crack? Just another pretty face?
Nope - and I don't like her style, either. But she's probably one of the most effective conservatives out there. And that's the difference:
Michelle Malkin's not trading on her looks, and we shouldn't allow women (or men) today to do so.
There's a lot of talent out there that we're missing out on because we're playing this superficial game. Amartel said he''ll "choose a happy warrior over a grim jealous bossy bitch* any day" but that's not the only choice we have - but someone who can come without either of those examples, but might be cantankerous, probably won't get a chance because the gatekeepers are too enamored with the idea that everybody's happy with MKH, so why rock the boat? (I'd be happy with "a grim jealous bossy bitch" as long as it's for the right reasons and she can present it well.)
It's like what Tyrone Slothrop said:
He saw a beautiful "sunset." I dissed it because I'm not a hippie - and was born after the moon landing - so I see, and expect, a vision that reflects that, not some moon/June/spoon, ancient, outdated the-Sun-goes-across-the-Earth-and-sets idea.
To not be able to move forward from thse ideas is what's trapping us all, and holding us back, in a multitude of ways.
Of course, walking into a crowded room and announcing "All you M-Fers are idiots" is a pretty good way to get a group to circle the wagons against you.
You want people to treat you in a "The more the merrier" manner, it helps to treat others the same way.
That was someone else's claim - I was saying they don't even play by the rules, such as that one, they claim to believe in. I think we're adults and ought to act like it. And as adults, I take people as they are. This idea everyone has to be an ass kisser, or a shrinking violet, or "humble" or whatever has nothing to do with the adults I know. I've got friends who answer the phone with "Hey, Stupid" and I love them for it, because they aren't cookie cutter people, but individuals with distinct personalities that couldn't get on TV, or whatever, though they're smarter, more charming, and (if you ask me) better people ethically, morally, and just to hang out with. They've never demanded I act a certain way, but welcome a challenge to their ideas - that's totally different to those who say someone must "fit in" before they can be heard. It's just a different level of maturity, if you ask me.
Compare Ann's free speech policy to other blogs and then you'll start to see what I mean. Here, you can speak. On other blogs, you'll be cut off at the knees for merely not agreeing with the moderator - and they think they're good, honest, fair people.
Wait, you think you would be a better voice for conservatism while at the same time bitchin about "The Man" keeping you down?
Doesn't sound like a very convincing conservative argument to me.
What part of "conservatives and liberals aren't that different" isn't getting through? Conservatives have cliques just like liberals do - you've got to be Christian, you've got to be this or you've got to be that:
So Crack, you don't like MM's style either...too butch?
You are complaining like a Real Housewife.
I said I don't like her style. Big deal. I still value her work. I don't see a problem - everybody doesn't have to like each other, or each other's style. But saying that shouldn't be enough to say someone shouldn't be heard, or can't be "in". Andrew Sullivan should be shunned because he's a fruitcake, not because he's gay, or merely because we disagree with him.
One of your friends must have a computer and web cam you can use...quitcher bitchin', and just do it.
No, actually, they don't. I'm one of the few people in my circle who live online. As I've said, for many of my friends, I'm insane to talk to white people, online or off, at all. For me to move forward in this world would be a big thing, because I'd be breaking barriers people like Glenn Reynolds can't, or won't even attempt to approach.
Oh. I understand now. Crack is a fan of Dr. Helen. Dr. Helen bends over backwards and then some to make men feel like we American women are bad, bad people and should be serving men with good cooking and better sex.
So, is Crack a fan of the nutsy Futurist, too? Is he into the whole PUA bullhockey?
That would explain why he doesn't care for my friend, Mary Katherine.
That was someone else's claim - I was saying they don't even play by the rules, such as that one, they claim to believe in.
Yes, it was my claim.
And still you have provided no evidence that they aren't following their own rules. Again, last time I checked MKH wasn't slamming you.
This idea everyone has to be an ass kisser, or a shrinking violet, or "humble" or whatever has nothing to do with the adults I know.
I've never made this claim. And if you can reach an audience this way, then more power to you. I just find it funny that you demand others accept your method for reaching an audience while not extending that same courtesy to others a might hypocritical.
I'm saying "Make room!"
Except for that bitch MKH! Kick her to the curb!
What part of "conservatives and liberals aren't that different" isn't getting through?
What the hell does "conservatives and liberals aren't that different" have to do with anything?
You claim that you make better conservative arguments than MKH and then base your argument on something that could have come straight out of a hippie's mouth.
In a contest of who makes better conservative arguments, MKH may not have won, but you certainly lost that one.
I usually can sort of get Crack's points, but this criticism just seemed gratuitous. (And icky - the mouth thing.)
Anyway, no there's nothing new here, but MKH has a nice style to her generally. I'm sure she knows she's cute but she's not full of herself over it. I don't think so, anyway. I got exactly the opposite impression observing her walking around CPAC very dressed down and non-glam. I would have missed her if someone hadn't pointed her out to me.
So: Ham +1, and Crack needs to take the class again.
Dayum Crack, you got me to look! I like MKH and have followed her since some independent reporting during the Duke Lacrosse days. When this was linked by Instapundit I thought it looked like stuff I already knew and skipped it. Yep, stuff all of us already know. I choose neither in this instance.
Dr. Helen bends over backwards and then some to make men feel like we American women are bad, bad people and should be serving men with good cooking and better sex.
I don't know about all that - I barely read her - but, when I do, she's usually fighting the good fight for sanity in the gender wars. I'll say she doesn't see women as above criticism, as women, and that's refreshing.
So, is Crack a fan of the nutsy Futurist, too? Is he into the whole PUA bullhockey?
Ha, that's funny because I was just trying to read something of his last night and found all the acronyms silly. Either you can mack - or "got game" - or you don't. I figure his approach is for the dweebs. I can't read it.
He can't handle a smart woman.
Riiight. No, my idea of a smart woman is different than what's usually presented - meaning I don't care for anyone who trades on her looks.
I enjoy reading Christina Hoff Sommers. Camille Paglia is smart, but she's also weird. (Ann's smart, but inconsistent.) If I had to say who I thought was the total package - beauty and brains - I'd say Freeman Hunt. She's smart as all get-out and, as far as I know, has never drawn attention to her natural features. In fact, the one time she was chosen for some Good Looking Conservative Women thing, she seemed insulted. For that, I respected her even more.
Yu-Ain Gonnano,
I'm done. Like Joe (the Crypto Jew) you've got something in your head I can't be bothered to dislodge. Me, a NewAger - or holding a NewAge idea? You're dreaming.
Trooper,
LOL! (I haven't even clicked the link and I'm laughing.)
Darcy,
Welcome back. I don't know what kind of men you guys hang out with but my friends are warts-and-all MEN. One starts every discussion of women with "They're all liars!" The rest of us grunt just so A) he knows we get it, and B) he knows we heard him, so he won't repeat it. But hey, my friends are my friends, and the one I wrote about is of the (icky) "Daddy likes" variety (I can't take him many places, because he might start a fight or something, but he's a great drinking buddy). My point is, he's sent me tons of Michelle Malkin posts (and even sent me her videos) but has never once commented on her looks. He listens to her, considers her his conservative champion, and while I'm sure he finds her attractive - full disclosure: he finds all women "f*ckable" - that's never been the focus of his interest in what Michelle Malkin does.
It's all he talks about with MKH.
Martin L. Shoemaker,
Ummm, Crack, unless you lied about your age last month, you were born before the Moon landing. Almost before the Apollo program.
Yeah, I fucked up. The idea is that - after our space explorations - we know the sun doesn't "set", but that we're spinning around it, and the NewAge hippie idea that the end of each day should be a worship service strikes me as, both, silly and as an indicator of how little we want to progress from ancient ideas. I can't wait until we can go on one of those orbital flights we've got coming, so we can regularly see the entire Earth and Sun together. Maybe then, when everyone can see how this place is set up, they'll stop with this "let's look at the sunset" nonsense.
Trooper,
Well when Crack was born the moon was in the seventh house but Jupiter was aligned with Mars. That's why he hates the New Agey so much.
Why is it so effortless for you and so hard for everybody else?
"I said I don't like her style. Big deal. I still value her work. I don't see a problem - everybody doesn't have to like each other, or each other's style. But saying that shouldn't be enough to say someone shouldn't be heard, or can't be "in"."
Wait, let's go over this again...what don't you like about Malkin's style? How would you compare your style to hers?
The idea is that - after our space explorations - we know the sun doesn't "set", but that we're spinning around it, and the NewAge hippie idea that the end of each day should be a worship service strikes me as, both, silly and as an indicator of how little we want to progress from ancient ideas.
No argument there. The self-proclaimed party of science is chock-full of anti-science whackjobs whom they not only tolerate but court for support and funding. Until they denounce the whackjobs in their midst, they're simply liars when they accuse Republicans of being more anti-science than them.
I know, I know, I'm preachin' to the choir, as the cliche goes.
But Crack, man, it's the Apollo program. It's my inspiration as an engineer. If they could put men on the Moon with less computing power in all of NASA than I have in my freakin' CELL PHONE, I can solve whatever bug I'm working on. So I get a little nitpicky on this subject.
Crack. I'm finding your argument inconsistent. You may not recall but I made a very pointed comment and observation about your style on your website. You received it graciously and with good humor. I respect you for that.
But, considering, for you to criticize someone else for their particular approach in 'reaching out' is a little beyond the pale. I do think you have a relevant and smart voice in the 'debate', but I ask, who's approach, hair flip and all, will translate to more readers/watchers? Even if the message is stale, circular and based on 'looks'.
I'm NOT judging your 'realism' approach, it is clever and smart. But it will be forever doomed to the, in my opinion, small audience that can appreciate your personal worldview.

I tend to like most of what Ham does, and some of it is brilliant.
This last thing, though, I think would have been vastly more effective if the rapid disclaimer at the end was comprehensible since that was actually the really funny political commentary part. Yes, sure, she's not saying anything we don't know. But in the video she basically says, "enjoy the new rules", while the disclaimer says that all the old rules are still in effect for all of the people who ever were told to tone it down to begin with.
It's the punch line and because you can't hear it, it doesn't punch.
What don't you like about Malkin's style? How would you compare your style to hers?
She seems to work in a politically correct sphere, provided to her by others. You know, like she's there partially because she's not white. Of course, she brings it, so it's not a big thing. Her aggressiveness definitely proves she should be there, but it's still annoying and smacks of privilege. Also, like Ham, I think she knows it, but she wears it better. It's the ol' Affirmative Action question:
Did you get there because you're good or because of something else?
My video style is more personal, closer to PJTV's Sonja Schmidt, which isn't surprising since we're both from South Central, Los Angeles and have that way of talking and thinking. (Consider all the people from that area - Denzel Washington, Barry White, Ice-T, Ice Cube, and so on - there's a thing we've got for connecting easily, in a non-stuck-up human way, that translates well. I think it's because people from there have seen everything, the worst kinds of depravity with the best of true compassion, so we can't really put on airs.) When I worked for Today it really pissed people off because, you know liberals, acting superior was their whole thing. Then here I come with some straight talk, defending Bush, and screwing up the whole blacks-should-be-on-our-side narrative. The guy who put my segments together (white guy) was about as pissed as he could be when he got the word we were being black balled from within. That taught me an important lesson about libs - which we can see in their forays into radio, and in their declining newspaper numbers:
They'd rather fail than meet the country half way.
Mr. Shoemaker,
If they could put men on the Moon with less computing power in all of NASA than I have in my freakin' CELL PHONE, I can solve whatever bug I'm working on.
For real. When I think about that - how much they did with so little - I can get really depressed looking at NASA today. But then I think - Hey - their job now is Muslim outreach, and then I get happy again.
NOT!
Synova - another very-likable smart woman!
I feel obligated to say, here, I like Ann, too. But she's complicated - fire and ice - which puts her in a different, more cerebral, category than a simple like/don't like statement can encompass. Her defense of free speech, and holds a salon, puts her waaay above everybody else blogging, in my book, no matter what quibbles I may have with her about one topic or another. Everybody else acts like if they have to face criticism, or someone disagrees with them, it's a capital offense (offline, it burns me up when people get fired for such things) but Ann's the only adult - the adult they wish they were - men included.
I worked with a former NASA engineer. She joined the program all full of ideals. She left when she got tired of her job, which consisted almost entirely of tracking potential debris paths for a spacecraft yet to be built, and verifying that none of the debris might fall on alligator nesting beds. All day, every day, she just took in revised designs and flight plans, applied the same boring calculations, and compared the results to the latest alligator maps from the local wildlife authorities. After a couple years of that, she decided that if she was going to not do rocket science, the pay for not doing rocket science was better in private industry.
Six years later, she went back to visit friends there. The spacecraft in question still hadn't launched, still was in design; and they were still calculating the risk to the alligators.
You wanna know why we're not on Mars yet? I blame the alligators.
Let me add my voice welcoming back Darcy. From the photo she submits, I would say that she is no stranger to hair flipping. (Synova has bangs and is probably a full monte hair flipper.)... I would like to take this opportunity to defend the practice of hair flipping. One of the many restrictions on women in Muslim societies is that they are not allowed to hair flip. The hair flip, when done properly, is an attractive gesture that appeals to men's protective natures. I particularly like when a girl looks up and tries to blow the hair from her forehead, but different strokes for different folks.....Tall men are not reluctant to use their height to try to dominate a discussion. I refer you to LBJ. The reason that men with an imposing physical presence use that presence to win arguments is because it works. Probably more often than lucid reasoning. Darwin and all that. If women use their good looks to counter an argument, they are doing no more than tall men who lean into their opponents. Again, Darwin and all that. It's not new age or even particularly manipulative. It's just evolution......I am not sufficiently conversant with MKH's oeuvre to tell whether that last hair flip was an ironic gesture mocking inappropriate hair flips or a shrewd gesture to win audience sympathy. But I can say irrevocably that I am glad to live in a country where women are allowed to flip their hair.....That said, I think pigtails and licking a lollipop is probably a step too far, but women tend to know what works best.
You seem to be projecting a lot onto Malkin, like she's some sort of smug affirmative action hire. I never got that from her. She may come off shrewish at times, but I don't think that has a thing to do with privilege, but is just her style/personality.
It's fine if you want to say Ham is too nice and Malkin is to mean, so what will they say about you, squeaky wheel?
I'll go with Crack, MKH is too, too, well, bland and yes, I know, she doesn't scare the horses, children and small animals that way, but after a while it's like a steady diet of Coors beer--cool & crisp at first, it eventually begins to taste like water..no "bite' whatsoever..
Malkin? An Oberlin grad whose smart as a whip--and I'm a big fan. It's appropriate she's now living in Colorado--the land where Hunter S. Thompson chose to spend his last days. His philosophy was that one should always be ready to "...challenge the bastards on their own turf.." (h/t "Fear & Loathing.." ) and Malkin is more than willing to do that..
As far as Malkin and what I'll call bravery, she's gone after very sensitive topics. I don't read her, but two of the cases I read carefully when she was writing about California's(?) S-Chip type program, where she investigated a sick child's parent's financial situation, and when she covered student protests against recruiters at UC Berkely. Her political opponents were scandalized. She's got balls to spare.
And, I am quite sure there are women who have gone after the subjects you mentioned in your TMR post. And isn't the entire msm, male and female, mum about Madame Oprah's scandalous BS?
I like you, Crack, but I think you've let the 'south central cool' take over your outlook. There are bad men who cheat and bad women who leave without enough of a reason, but there are many couples who stick it out, just everyday people, comfy people.
Damn. I missed giving a timely vote for Crack. Along with mediocracy, one cosmos, and the false rape society, he runs one of my four favorite blogger screeds.

Sorry, Crack, but I pick Ham.
(The Crypto Jew)
She has a the love of a very bad SEC school, but I choose MKH over Crack, as well.
Even Crack chooses Mary Katherine.
(and who wouldn't choose a girl whose nickname must be Mary Kate?
Troop would be more than happy to play Michaeleen)
It just looks like video from before or after the actual speaking part she was doing. It looked to me as though she was following directions from the camera operator to move around - she does and looks back and laughs.
I could be wrong, I don't watch her much. Does she do the hair flip all the time? Regardless of what was going on, it wasn't part of the presentation, whoever edited the video just stuck it in there.
I have unrequited feelings for both Mary Ham and 'The Crack'.
I think her reaction to the 'new tone' in this piece is understandable.
The left has pushed 'new civility'...it should be pointed out that it is not civil at all, at least as it applies to 'them'.
But, we must remember that the 'new civility' was directed at anyone not on the left.
So, the call for 'new civility' really ends up being another ruse to silence opposition. Really no more complicated than that.
Ham
My first thought when I saw the title was that "Crack v. Bacon" is a better addiction question. Which would be harder to break? I assumed Althouse was channeling Instapundit and his bacon-centric postings. But no.
Forget the hair flip:
Is anyone here going to tell me - after the criticism of Newsweek as "staleness, meaning a lack of both a) editorial imagination and b) news" - that MKH is presenting anything in that video we didn't already know, about either liberals or "the new tone"?
She gets over because she's cute.
Ham.
Ham all day long.
@Crack
A lot cuter than Couric- who is an airhead too.
Ham all the way.
PETER V. BELLA,
A lot cuter than Couric- who is an airhead too.
Well, at least we've got an admission she's an airhead.
Anyone else want to comment on the substance of my argument? And to those of you who choose Ham - no offense taken - can you tell us why?
(The Crypto Jew)

No insult to Meade, but the same thing could be said of the Meadehouse videos of WI…..oh well. Sorry about your loss Crack, but Ham is cuter than you and truth to tell, funnier…and you’ve never had to put up with that crank old man, Bill O’Reilly talking all over you about the dangers of the Intarwebz….she’s paid her dues. Further, “this week in the news, with Peeps” was sheer genius and that carries her over this, admittedly, less brilliant oeuvre.

tachyonshuggy,
Crack is easily the most annoying commenter on this blog. More annoying than the trolls. Virtually everything he posts contains a link back to his site.
Enjoy.
@tachy
"Crack is easily the most annoying commenter on this blog."
No, that dubious honor belongs to someone else, who will remain nameless so as not to give any credence whatsoever.
"Virtually everything he posts contains a link back to his site."
While I do think Mr. Emcee does make some good points, I wouldn't describe him as 'cogent'.
The links he includes are self-promoting, and occasionally entertaining.
I give 'The Crack' a check mark in the 'relevant' box for sure.
Ham it am!
Other than she's a cute airhead, though, not one person can defend their choice of Ham?
C'mon - somebody - tell me why she's good.
She gets over because she's cute.
Well, yeah.
Guess I'd say this -- if she reaches someone who might not otherwise be reached because she's cute, that makes what she does useful.
Takeaway from this post -- I need to read Crack's blog more often.
Crack...I agree that Ham is not a creative talker like you are, but she is a force that pushes opinions in the right direction. In a war we had better accept everyone on our side and not pick on their style flaws. And what's wrong with graduating from the world's best party school, the University of Georgia?
(The Crypto Jew)
She makes good points, if not original, she looks good making them, and she’s FUNNY, Crack, all the things you AREN’T….sorry she’s the Carl Sagan of the Conservative Movement. Sagan hadn’t made any real scientific discoveries in DECADES, but he sure did a great job of popularizing Science. So too, MKH. So MKH is better than Crack…again sorry. Mayhap Jean Jacques Rousseau was the better intellectual but Voltaire was the one who made the Enlightenment, fun and well known…We are many parts, we are all one body.
I won't pick one. I like em both.
Trey
She's a cutie. That's all that needs to be said.
Mr. D,
I need to read Crack's blog more often.
Thanks. I'm listening to Rush right now and he's making the same "men in dresses" point I made about those on "our side" this morning - that they're identical to the other side.
"She gets over because she's cute."
A germane but insuffecient criticism.
Trey

Find me her writing - some funny writing - because I haven't seen it.
Otherwise, get me a film crew.
MaryKatherine over cranky crack.
She's got a great sense of humour and she is smart. She always has a smile on her face, because she is a nice, nice young woman.

Search Youtube for “This week in Peeps” quite funny…..

On top of the cuteness, Ham has a pleasant demeanor and she doesn't come across with the excessive intensity, even shrillness, of Michelle Malkin.
Crack, I'm going with Ham myself because while I like you, you aren't easy to look at. She is.
Joe (The Crypto Jew)
One more thing, then I'll let y'all have it:
(The Crypto Jew)

If anything, she takes up space someone better could have:
Um, isn't that the zero sum economic theory the left tends to push all the time? Let it go man.
Apples and oranges. I like 'em both!
Mmmmmm. Ham.
First of all youse guys are all wrong.
I am the most annoying person who posts here. Bar none.
And I vote for Crack. He's the man. But don't believe him when he dogs Miss Ham. He loves the white wimmens.
You guys have not idea what Crack is really like.
Read his blog. It's great.

Could I do a better job? Of course, I could - but that's not the point of what I blogged. I blogged exactly what I said;
She's cute, but she sucks.
(The Crypto Jew)
She's cute, but she sucks.
Sound more like those grapes were sour any way to me…..I’m sorry not everyone is James O’Keefe or Brietbart or has to be….again, WE ARE MANY PARTS WE ARE ALL ONE BODY.
.
By her parish priest or the Lady's Community Speech-code Guild I could see .. but 'yous guys' ... c'mon ...

Yu-Ain Gonnano,

Sorry, guys, but I'm online today:
"Original, stale, whatever."
Then the criticisms of the "new" Newsweek are wrong and unwarranted, right? We don't have to demand better standards, or effectiveness, or anything - it's all about smiling, and hair flips, and repeating what you already know. That's the "new conservatism" now.
C'mon, you know better. "The more the merrier", sure, but at least lets make them good.
(The Crypto Jew)
I noticed the hair flip too.
If it was shot as B-roll and put in by someone other than Ham, no Ham.
If put in by Ham, voila, Ham!

If you keep repeating the voices in your head I'm going to ignore you.
Would you care to address anything I've said without going the jealousy route?
Well, since I don't think I could pick Ms. Ham out of a lineup or care in the least little bit, I guess it would be Crack by default.
It's hardly an epic battle, though :)

Ham. Absolutely.
(The Crypto Jew)
(The Crypto Jew)

Can you give a brother a break?
(The Crypto Jew)
Can you give a brother a break?
Dood, only Sammy Davis Jr. can get a break from the Crypto Jew….I can offer a truce and a silence I guess.
Ham's videos have always been hit-and-miss. HamNation had its moments. This was okay. I really liked her Inception/Rally for Sanity mashup.
I liked a lot of her Townhall writing but not enough to track her down to wherever she went (Weekly Standard).
Wait, what am I saying?
She lacks the ability to tie every problem in the universe to New Age and dismiss all other issues as unimportant!
Everyone ignore her.
Martin L. Shoemaker,
What puzzles me, Crack, is why Mary Katherine Ham is worth your time and your effort?
Trooper York for the douchenozzle win!
Troop,
I love you! (And I'm gonna kill you when we meet!)
Thanks Crack you know I love you like a brother.
All I know is when I have a TV show will you play the cool black guy? You know like Huggy Bear or Rooster. I bet you gotz some of them big ass hats in your crib.
blake,
She lacks the ability to tie every problem in the universe to New Age and dismiss all other issues as unimportant!
A family blog? What a douchenozzle!
Trooper,
I bet you gotz some of them big ass hats in your crib.
I hate to say this - because I know you're bullshitting - but I have the biggest Kangol collection you've ever seen.
I sear, you guys ought to read the transcript for Rush tomorrow, because he's tweaking these same issues.
Troop,
It's a date.
Crack,
are you telling me we wouldn't undermine them? Even a little bit?
if you ask me, to ignore that elephant in the room - when you claim you're trying to win - is a crime.
That's not the game I'm playing, personally. And I suspect that it's a game that can't be won, given that the Left set up the rules and definitions. The Right lost when it applied the label of "The Right" to itself.
A light reminder of the hypocrisy of the entrenched powers is a good thing. (And this coming from someone who has never found MKH to be particularly cute.)
Also, M-Kat has held her own on "Red Eye" in the past, which scores her some extra points in my book.
"Troop,
It's a date."
Mary Katherine is a hot chick who is modestly talented. Sort of like Mary Tyler Moore.
The Crack Emcee is an angrey black man who is very funny.
And we all know that Trooper York is just a BLABBERMOUTH!!!!!!
Oh and I can't spell for shit. Sorry teacher.
Another republican sweetie-pie Crack would lose against.
deborah--
But why is she diavlogging with Chris Elliot?
deborah,
Another republican sweetie-pie Crack would lose against.
I'm not sure continually refocusing the conversation on yourself (as a Real Housewife might) is macho.
Crack, why wait for a film crew? I think most of those YouTube videos are just webcams anyway, or at least many of them are.
I'm better than all y'all bitches.
Chip Ahoy,
Crack, why wait for a film crew? I think most of those YouTube videos are just webcams anyway, or at least many of them are.
I was going to buy a camera over Christmas but my computer's too old to work with them. If I can think of a way to get it going, I will, but so far, no luck.
Pasta,
What's your take on Michelle Malkin, Crack?
To not be able to move forward from thse ideas is what's trapping us all, and holding us back, in a multitude of ways.
probably won't get a chance because the gatekeepers
Wait, you think you would be a better voice for conservatism while at the same time bitchin about "The Man" keeping you down?
Doesn't sound like a very convincing conservative argument to me.
Yu-Ain Gonnano,
Of course, walking into a crowded room and announcing "All you M-Fers are idiots" is a pretty good way to get a group to circle the wagons against you.
It's bullshit.
So Crack, you don't like MM's style either...too butch?
You are complaining like a Real Housewife.
One of your friends must have a computer and web cam you can use...quitcher bitchin', and just do it.
Blake, Bill Scher is only ten times cuter than Chris Elliot :)
Yu-Ain Gonnano,
Wait, you think you would be a better voice for conservatism while at the same time bitchin about "The Man" keeping you down?
Doesn't sound like a very convincing conservative argument to me.
What part of "conservatives and liberals aren't that different" isn't getting through? Conservatives have cliques just like liberals do - you've got to be Christian, you've got to be this or you've got to be that:
I'm saying "Make room!"
deborah,
So Crack, you don't like MM's style either...too butch?
It's just a whole other thing.
Okay, thx for the imput, I look forward to when you are able to do some video.
He can't handle a smart woman.
SWWBO said...
Oh. I understand now. Crack is a fan of Dr. Helen. Dr. Helen bends over backwards
Say do you have photo's of that?
I only have this one.
I enjoy a good intellectual photo anytime.
Huh.
Yeah!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Darcey is back.
Wow first Simon and now Darcey.
This is getting like old home week.
Now if only Titus would come back it could be old homo week.
Not that there's anything wrong with that.
Crack,
I'm just saying. Claiming that you are the superior conservative voice while sounding like a hippie isn't your best advertising strategy.
Hi ya, Troop!

Ummm, Crack, unless you lied about your age last month, you were born before the Moon landing. Almost before the Apollo program.
Unless, maybe, you know about a Moon landing "they" never told us about...
Well when Crack was born the moon was in the seventh house but Jupiter was aligned with Mars.
That's why he hates the New Agey so much.
Dayum Crack, you got me to look! I like MKH and have followed her since some independent reporting during the Duke Lacrosse days. When this was linked by Instapundit I thought it looked like stuff I already knew and skipped it. Yep, stuff all of us already know. I choose neither in this instance.
SWWBO,
Because I am drunk.
The Crack Emcee said...

But Martin you must realize that the space program has really let us down.
I have been dreaming of what space travel should be like.
Why have you space nerds let us down?

It's the punch line and because you can't hear it, it doesn't punch.
deborah,
What don't you like about Malkin's style?
She exposes them as the bullies in the sandbox.
Mary Katherine. Definitely Mary Katherine. Sorry, Crack, but you are coming across as misogynistic here.
I think you're full of shit, Crack. Trying to play all sides against all sides. You excuse bullshit because it's 'real'. Try to sell that 'downtown'.
It will work in another thirty years though, so I guess you're ahead of your time.
Big Mike,
Mary Katherine. Definitely Mary Katherine. Sorry, Crack, but you are coming across as misogynistic here.
For the billionth time - some of you shouldn't even say that word because you obviously don't know what it means.
Don't make me weep, Crack, don't make me weep.
His philosophy was that one should always be ready to "...challenge the bastards on their own turf.." (h/t "Fear & Loathing.." ) and Malkin is more than willing to do that..
deborah,
It's fine if you want to say Ham is too nice and Malkin is to mean, so what will they say about you, squeaky wheel?
The word against me, with women, has always been the same:
"He wants to be right all the time."
But, for the life of me, I've never understood how wanting to be anything else should be a goal.
deborah,
It's fine if you want to say Ham is too nice and Malkin is to mean, so what will they say about you, squeaky wheel?
I was too tired to answer you in full last night, but I did this morning.
Crack--
I find it hard to believe that anyone (even a woman) faults you for wanting to be right.
Normally the complaint is the inability to accept when you're wrong.
That said, you may be a crazy-chick magnet.
There are bad men who cheat and bad women who leave without enough of a reason, but there are many couples who stick it out, just everyday people, comfy people.
deborah--
Malkin's defense of internment shows more testicular fortitude than all the MFM has shown in 50 years.
I heard of that, blake, but never read up on it. Yeah, that was pretty in-your-face, wasn't it?
Damn. I missed giving a timely vote for Crack. Along with mediocracy, one cosmos, and the false rape society, he runs one of my four favorite blogger screeds.
