"At this point, I'm not sure why I'd reach out to them again."

Says Wisconsin Senate Majority Leader Scott Fitzgerald — after driving to Kenosha to meet with 2 of the self-exiled Democratic senators.
"It was clear about halfway through the conversation that the items that they brought up were items that could never make it into the state budget...."

We need a 'Rooney Rule' now for liberals - is that it?

Where we must entertain the inevitable pressure to increase spending on entitlements, kickbacks, etc.

In sales its called 'selling via expense account'. Its the lazy way.

Really, it would be no different that the Zero's health care summit where Paul Ryan ate his lunch.

Can't the State of Wisconsin sue to have their declared vacated?

This is Democracy in action...all except for the refusing to allow a vote part. The recall process may be needed.

Ann.....would making Wisconsin a "right to work" state be considered a fiscal bill for purposes of a 20 person quorum?

If not, I think the Republicans should just pass right to work legislation. Go nuclear. That will bring them back. Then if the Wisconsin voters want to recall Walker next year, so be it.

If they met in Kenosha, why didn't Fitzgerald bring a Trooper with him and have them drug back to Madison.

Cullen said later Wednesday that he had not indicated that Democrats would return that day and that the Democrats would return only if all 14 or a number "extremely close to 14" will come back.

Well then, that's convinced me. Walker should just give in, because he needs the support of every single one of those WI 14.

This reminds me of a time when my daughter was getting too big for her britches. She was mouthy and disrespectful, and I had had enough.

So I did a few reps with her for some presses.

It really helped, the physical demonstration of my authority and strength was very powerful. She cried, and she straightened up. She realized the situation more clearly, and it did her and the family a lot of good.

These frightened "representatives" do not realize that they serve at the will of the people, and that the people will discard and punish them if they displease them. This is not about the Governor, it is about how the people voted. It is about how the elite are having great trouble, all across the country and across parties, dealing with the strength and will of the people.

The governor understands, the fleebaggers, nah. They will be corrected, one way or another.

What did you expect? You telegraphed weakness by agreeing to drive to Kenosha to negotiate.

Your position should have been: "We can talk all you want once you stop holding Democracy hostage"

So. The State of Wisconsin is going broke and the supposed solution is to recall the missing Democrats? And NOW the Democrats in retaliation want to try to recall the Republicans.

Does anyone in Wisconsin have two brain cells to rub together? Do they even stop to consider how much a special recall election will cost the State.

So instead of doing their jobs, the Dems have set this fiasco into motion. Instead of working together and taking care of business, they have created this circus. All you people need now are some clown cars and ooga horns.

What a bunch of moronic children.

Before reading the attached article, I didn't know that the Senate Majority Leader and the Assembly Speaker are brothers. That ought to make coordination between the two chambers a bit easier; but sibling rivalry can work in strange ways too.

I wonder if that has ever occurred before, either in WI or elsewhere.

About half of these clowns have recall petitions going against them.

This is why democracy is mob rule.

Why reach out to these silly legislative obstructionists at all? These boobs made their beds,so to speak, when they went AWOL, so I say let them be shunned. If and when these Poor Losers come back they'll forever be known as that popular "Fleebaggers" Term?
