You know who I haven't seen protesting FOR the unions? White-collar professionals.

BTW, Rush Limbaugh seemed to sputter this morning in response to Obama's claim that he had stopped the Quadaffi massacre of his own people. I swear it sounded to me like Obama pwned him badly!

The flag should have had 14 stripes and, I don't know, 37 stars. Remember when political art was symbolic? Now it all sucks.

Hagar said...

Is that a protestor or a beggar?

The flag looks like an oil-on-canvas frame so perhaps he's a starving artist.

Henry said...

I think the medium is tempera on cardboard. There are printed letters visible beneath the paint, but I can't make them out. Pizza? Pogo stick? Not sure.

The flag only has 10 and 1/4 stripes. The bottom of the cardboard box is torn off. Perhaps there were 13 stripes and the bottom 3 were turn off. Or perhaps the artist started painting stripes at the top and ran out of room at the bottom.

There are 50 stars, but they are in the wrong formation. They are arranged in a 10 x 5 grid. The actual flag overlays a 5 x 4 grid on a 6 x 5.

It's also missing this figure.

A bit off topic, if there is one, but has Blogger's comment server been acting up for anyone else lately?

I've been getting weird errors like server busy or just a screen hang. Long Epistle to the Romans - syle missives have been unceremoniously bit-bucketed (sob!).

I now copy my messages into a text buffer before hitting send, but that used to be unnecessary.

Is anyone else having problems?

But the benches are hard and cold and have no backs.

I doubt he's starving. That's a pizza box!

Rush's response aside, I don't know anyone who has denied that the US military could stem any government's massacre of its own people.

It's maintaining that and/or favorable regime change that are difficult.

Assembling and speaking freely is better than dissembling and freaking spree-ly (or something)

I saw the instapundit link to Althouse talking about the threats. You were pissed off!

Good on ya!

All of a sudden its not anathema to ask where is Obama's birth certificate?

Wasn't the Obama administration supposed to be the most open in history?

Why wont Obama release his birth certificate?

Wince said...

As I said in the previous thread, if there are no actual infirmities with repassage of the union bill, I'm starting to think a court reversal on procedural grounds could be good for Walker and the Reps over the long haul.

wv - "pewsest" = a new angle on the church sexual abuse scandal

Lem Vibe Bandit said...

Maybe its something innocuous like..

Religion : Muslim.

Henry said...

Donald Trump? What about Charlie Sheen? Has he asked to see Obama's birth certificate?

Fen said...

Rush's response aside, I don't know anyone who has denied that the US military could stem any government's massacre of its own people.

I think the point is that Obama was taking credit for preventing a massacre that wasn't going to happen anyway.

Regardless, we need to target Daffy and then get serious about Syria.

Lem Vibe Bandit said...

I don't expect much out of a president who cant even release his own birth certificate.

By refusing to release his birth certificate Obama is standing in shakier ground than Clinton's "depend on what the meaning of is is".

At least Clinton went under oath.. okay he lied, but at least he gave an answer.

What's going on with concealed carry in Wisconsin? I'm moving there in a few weeks from one of the 48 right-to-carry states. Not that I pack heat often, but it's creepy that it's illegal.

Trooper York said...

I don't think it is a real flag unless he has all 57 states.

Come on Ann, quit hiding the anti-war protesters.

Where are the "Obama Lied, Libyans Died" signs?

Where are the "No Blood fo Lybyan Oil" signs?"

Why don't you take pictures of the Cindi Sheehan entourage as they protest Barack Obama's illegal war of choice? Surely Sheehan is on hand to discuss Barack Obama's killing of brown Muslims in an unconstitutional war he started without so much as holding a single Congressional vote?

Why are you suppressing the anti-war protest, Ann?

Is Meade not supplying you with the proper photos, are are you merely refusing to run them?

Did he really say that? That reminds me of his taking credit for stopping the seas from rising.

that graffiti is awful sharp for chalk. I hope that's all it is, but who knows with these hippies.

It's time to cancel all entitlements for boomers. They promised themselves the wealth of the next 3 generations of workers, and it's not theirs to take.

Anonymous said...

"That reminds me of his taking credit for stopping the seas from rising."

But Obama didn't stop the seas from rising.

Here's the video:

Obama seems kind of like a douchebag.

Open carry is legal.

The few. The dedicated. And, yes, peaceful assembly.

Lame, as far as crowds go.

If these are the only people voting for Kloppenberg, she's in trouble.

MadisonMan said...

Ut, I saw that video earlier today. Amazing footage. Wonder what happened to the guy you see at 00:40.

blake said...

Is it subversive to sit among a bunch of protesters with a non-committal sign and think opposing thoughts?

Or just wussy?

Anonymous said...

"Wonder what happened to the guy you see at 00:40."

I'm sure Obama saved him. He stopped the seas from rising, dontcha know.

But yea, I assume he perished. He seemd to be fairly nonchalant, and then when the camera turns back the entire building he was standing on is nowhere to be seen.

Really, what these protests illustrate is the utter banality of their selfish and leftist activity.

Want to see what dorky and out-of-touch looks like? Show up at a union protest.

Pampers is really missing out on an opportunity to promote their product here.

Ridiculous.

It's not a pizza box. I did a little quick-and-dirty forensic image enhancement and it seems the box is from Motawi Tileworks, which is a nice, high-end producer of art tiles in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

I tried to see what's on his hat pin, but that's too overexposed so there's no info to be had. Nice nose-ring, though.

Henry said...

Palladian, you're a genius. I just squinted a lot. I was pretty sure it wasn't a pizza box, especially with the tell-tell cut-off (you don't have to cut to make a pizza box square). I thought maybe the word "automotive" was in there, but that didn't work. Motawi. Of course.

I have, off and on. It may be browser-related. Do you use IE or something that otherwise works?

Palladian said...

Thanks YH, it's too tempting when I see images like this one that will give up their secrets with a minimum of processing.

And to answer your earlier question, yes, Google/Blogger's commenting system has been especially atrocious lately, though it's always been terrible. That's what happens when you try to implement your invasive universal "sign-in" procedures using a legacy commenting system whose code has been untouched since 2003. That's what happens when Google buys things, they tend to languish in permanent limbo after the sale. Google doesn't care about their acquisitions beyond how much personal data they can wring out of the users.

Holy crap Palladian. That was impressive.

Type the word "impeach" in any comment. Watch it vanish 95% of the time with the "Blogger was unable to complete your request. Sorry."

Yea, I copy all text now before clicking "Publish."

Nice job Palladian!

So Madison has been infiltrated by Ann Arbor spies?

Next thing you know the Althouse blog comments will be crawling with Ann Arbor types.

Watching Obama giving his Libya speech and noticing just how far he's subverted himself.

Obama, the candidate that wouldn't put his hand over his heart for the pledge, now with his American flag lapel pin, bracketed by two American flags, now running 3 wars, leaving Gitmo open and on and on and on.

Look at him, he stands for nothing.

Nothing but Obama.

vbspurs said...

In case there is a thread about it: National Journal has the full text of the President's speech.

Rushed speech for a slowly decided KMA.

Carol, dont be misled - Prosser is going to be beaten badly. i live in WI. The attitude, aggression, and bullying by the union supporters has ordinary people afraid to voice their opinions. We are badly out-numbered. The city council and school board in my city are as crooked and as deep in the union pocket as possible. lefties. And where is the Republican party? They are not defending Walker or the Senators who will be recalled. i am so disgusted with thisthe people in this state ....
