This is Wisconsin. Intimidation is restrained and is only let loose in a mob experience of shouting chants. I would have no fear, unless they find out where I keep my kid's pet bunny rabbit.
No, they don't like Fox news. No surprise. Note that the Fox reporter dismissed the significance of the physical contact.
The protesters don't like the Koch brothers either. According to the leftists, the Kochs bought Walker with $43k of contributions through a PAC. Why did organized labor in Wisconsin let Walker go for such a low price? Surely they could have coughed up $50k or so.
I'm sure Garage Mahal would simply say anytime someone acts violently at one of these events that he's simply a Breitbart plant. But I don't remember any Tea Partiers, despite all the talk about the violent racist rhetoric, assualting anyone from the press. Maybe Napolitano and Homeland Security should start looking into the violent left wing fringe groups not to mention the various unions. We know what happened to Jimmy Hoffa, right? (Actually we don't, but we do know it didn't end well for him). There's a lot of crime and violence in the various unions. Maybe not the teachers union, but I'm not really willing to give them the benefit of the doubt.
There are obviously a whole lot of unemployed people in Wisconsin.
Hey, get with it! Recession's been over for 19 months or thereabouts according to The National Bureau of Economic Research, a bunch of academic economists who meet in Boston no less! Don't believe your lying eyes. Not for a minute. You, you...wrecker you!!
If one looks back at labor management conflicts over the past 150 years there is lots of violence. While some of this is initiated by management, most has been initiated by the union side.
Management generally has little interest in violence. It is bad for business.
Unions and their supporters historically have often used violence to prevent free-market workers ("scabs" as the unions call them)taking jobs at wages the union workers won't accept.
Unions attempt to get higher wages by intimidation and violence.
They attempt to prevent opposing viewpoints through intimidation and violence.
They attempt to force workers to vote in unions through intimidation and violence. Why do you think they want to do away with a secret ballot in organization elections?
Why are we surprised at union initiated violence in these confrontations in Madison and across the country.
For every incident of violence initiated against a union that anyone wants to post here, I can probably post a dozen of union initiated violence.
I use the term "union initiated" broadly here to cover both member and non-member union supporters.
Thanks Gov Walker. I know you are doing this for WI but in the end you do it for all of us. Stay strong.

WV: Presser- Unions use violence to put presser on the other side to give in.
It would be fun to start asking the "protesters" where they actually live - I'd bet a majority of the campers are out-of-state types who are part of the permanently pissed off left.
Plus, sleeping on a marble floor in the middle of a rotunda - great planning indeed!
MadisonMan was obviously referring to the allegations that Tea Party protestors spit on Democrats. There was extensive video documentation of that incident, which showed that the allegations were false. Here you have a professional TV journalist with a camera pointing on him saying he has been hit, but no video. He didn't say it didn't happen.
"Didn't Meade get falsely accused of shoving someone, also not on camera?"
Yeah, a cop. Watch the video. I am guessing that's a technique police use to let you know or make you think that they now have discretion to arrest you, so you'd better get super-compliant, right now.
Look, these are huge crowds and there is room for all sorts of diverse characters. They've been there a long time and they're not getting good sleep. Yet they are very peaceful. Actual physical violence is just NOT the story here. I walk into those crowds without fear, even though I think I'm pretty recognizable. No one has been the slightest bit threatening to me.
There is violent rhetoric and imagery on the signs. That's all.
" I am guessing that's a technique police use to let you know or make you think that they now have discretion to arrest you, so you'd better get super-compliant, right now."
I'm afraid I believe the same thing. Not gonna lie, it depresses me.
As I remember it, some of the CNN reporters were occasionally given a hard time by the Tea Party crowds. If you parse the differences, you can say that this is more extreme, but not by much.....The teachers make a few thousand dollars more than they deserve, and they do not want to lose it. They are pulling the levers, not the triggers, at their disposal. I don't follow the news closely, but the protestors do not seem like hateful people, nor even, as Americans go, especially greedy. We all want more than we deserve..... I favor Gov. Walker, but, in point of fact, there is no Platonic ideal of civil service benefits and no absolute optimum rate of taxation. These issues are settled by pushing and shoving, and the resolution is more a matter of pressure than morality.
Watch the video. The reason it was not on camera, is because the protesters were also blacking out the camera at the same time."
If you're trying to catch the worst on video you have to use two cameras. Send the first out to do interviews. Disguise the second and use it to video the first.
I understand that there has been no violence in Madison. But it occurs to me that it's very convenient how the Union members up there spend all ther time proclaiming their "solidarity" with Unions around the country, and measuring their strength by counting demonstrations from coast to coast, but when we see the violent thugs acting out (Missouri, D.C., etc.) the story changes. "Gee willickers, those fellers have no connection to us, don't be ridiculous! The fact that we're wearing the same shirts, saying the same things and paying dues to the same place doesn't mean anything, you crazy winger!"
1)Clearly public worker benefits and pensions as a short and long-term budgetary issue need to be addressed, even if we don't raise the conflict of interest issues (i.e. receiving campaign contributions from the very unions you're trying to "control"). 2) Different Governors will have different strategies and Walker's may be one of the most aggressive and gotten the most attention. Someone has to be the "tip of the spear" (if that's the correct analogy) 3)Clearly this has energized many on the left. And they've been able to create a narrative using "union-busting" and "Koch Brothers". 4)Will this be the base-energizing phenomenon that BO needs to push him forward in 2012 (much as the Tea Party rallies pushed the Republicans forward in 2010)? And if so, will Walker have "won the battle but lost the war" for the Republicans?
In most cases, whatever the cause, protest signs look childish. Ditto bumperstickers, which are really just another way of telling the reader, "I'm irrational...stay as far from me as possible".
Gateway Pundit has yet another example of the Dems and their new civility. A tidbit:
"Last Friday…. after the Assembly voted to engross the Budget Repair Bill, Hintz turned to a female colleague, Rep. Michelle Litjens and said: “You are F***king dead!”"
It's notable how often the Liberals vent their spleens on the fairer sex. Cowards.
I took my family down to the Capitol on Saturday. We were going across the state for a family event. We we there about 11:00 AM. I had absolutely no fear for my kids or myself. People need to break out of their narratives.
Anytime you have large crowds, there are jerks. I've shook my head more at the behavior of crowds at Badger games and other sporting events than I did at the Capitol.
"See how effective leftist media is? It didn't happen, but people remember it anyway."
See, that's the trick. He didn't say that Tea Partiers got violent, because that is a provable lie. Just that they gave CNN a hard time -- which is true. Their reporters went in with, what I'll quote Bioware and say were "disingenuous assertions," and were out-debated in interviews. So, it's true. CNN had a hard time. But the attempt is to parallel that with a Fox reporter allegedly being pushed around. That's the real trick.

A lot of these protesters are simply straight-up fascists. Though they would never cop to it.

Hitting and spitting are never on camera. Whether or not they actually happen?

If the left could nuke fox news -and replace it with a proper politburo - they would.
There are obviously a whole lot of unemployed people in Wisconsin.
Civility!

The union goons have been caught on camera beating somebody into the pavement so many times, they have to make it sound as if they're the victims.
Good luck on that.
These union goons must be like ninjas. They're so fast, they've never been caught on camera.

Thinking about this today.
Someone has to be the "tip of the spear" (if that's the correct analogy)

I watch Brett Baier and have found the signs behind the reporters comical. "This man is lying to you!" "Faux News!" It just makes them look childish.
It would be stupid to equate this with the attack on Lara Logan, but no stupider than equating these protests with the ones in Egypt.
It just makes them look childish.
In most cases, whatever the cause, protest signs look childish. Ditto bumperstickers, which are really just another way of telling the reader, "I'm irrational...stay as far from me as possible".

Ever see a swastika at a Badger game?

Do I really have to link all the videos of union goons caught on camera at Gateway Pundit and Malkin? There are at least a dozen of them.
