... from the first week of the new season of "American Idol." 3 from New Jersey and 3 from New Orleans. The last one in the New Orleans group is my favorite...
... Jacee Badeaux.

Uh, not sure how I say this, but the videos on the main screen - where all the posts are listed - are off one. Bozo is the one on this post and The Zero is on Bozo's.
On the screen where the comments display, you have the right video.
Hope that makes sense.
WV "dumbe" (no kidding) Think it applies to Blogger in this case.
Safari is displaying the correct videos.
" ...but the videos on the main screen - where all the posts are listed - are off one."
I've been noticing (and commenting on this) this for the last two days.
Using Firefox 3.6.13
Blogger is not rendering the correct video with the correct post in some instances.
It's occasional. And it's odd. Seems to display them correctly after a time.
(Glad to see I'm not going nuts).
Justin Fatber.
"Justin Fatber."
I should expand on that comment.
You see ... being an idol is more than just having a talent for singing. It's a complete package:
* Voice
* Range
* Timing
* Appearance
* Personality
* Sex Appeal
* Charisma
This kid will not succeed because he is not taking care of his body and nobody has told him that in order to succeed, you have to take care of your body.
Eating it to death is not going to make you an idol.
I agree with Ann, I liked Jacee Badeaux the best. He was the most natural and the least contrived.
Fixed now.
woof: I agree with Ann, I liked Jacee Badeaux the best. He was the most natural and the least contrived.
It's all about the judges, they're the ones getting paid to do this. How was their performance?
I'm on Firefox and everything is working fine except that Bono guy makes millions and the Jaycee kid gets squat. Something ain't right.
Awesome moment at :55 were Aerosmith goes in for some portentous eye contact and gets left hanging...
The posts are coded properly and working properly in both of my browsers, so some people are having browser problems. I can't think of anything I could do to help.
The Stay-Puft marshmallow man is going to the next round.
I've never watched AI, but if Mssr. Badeaux gets on, I might just have to.
I think comments about weight are idiotic - yea, why can't we all join a cult and learn what they say is the perfect concentration camp weight, huh?
That said, I, too, think he's got a nice voice but what else? Charisma? Nope. Anything unique about his voice? Nope. He's no "idol" for anyone. He's just a 15-year old with a nice voice.
This also shows me what I wouldn't like about the new show (if I were watching it:) the judges suck. Going overboard for this kid is stupid. Both Steven Tyler and J-Lo would easily outdo him on stage, so what are they all excited for? I've given over my stage to others on many occasions, because the artist is doing something I can't that I think deserves to be seen, but - if this clip is representative of the show and an audience favorite - the attitude of this "new" American Idol appears to be give it to 'em if they can do anything at all. And that shit don't cut it. Entertainment value:
I give it a 3.
I think the kid has potential but that it will most likely take him growing up to find the range necessary. What I noticed mostly was a lack of dynamics... louder - softer.
He *should* make it a few rounds though. It will be good for him.
The fat thing? Yes, probably it would keep him from being a *teen* idol, no matter if he can sing. But teen idols don't last and seldom have an adult career that I've noticed. Also, sometimes boys just grow out of the tubby stage... something about getting a foot or more taller in only two years. And for all of that, the number of hefty men with professional careers in music would suggest that it's not likely to be a problem.
Didn't see the show, but of the six auditions featured in the links, I liked Sarah Sellers best.
I didn't like Jacee ... all I thought was What if his voice changes during the show?
I feel like such a bad person since I am unmoved by Jacee's performance. It was front page on many sites and I was expecting something like a Paul Pott's kind of performance. I am sure his voice is fine, but as the linked commentary said he "lacks the presence or passion." I thought that made it a poor performance.
I was surprised how much I liked the first two episodes of Idol (the DVR is a godsend). I just wasn't expecting to enjoy the dynamics of the new judging panel but they are lively, decently honest and had me laughing a time or two. I thought I'd be all creeped out by Steven Tyler's aging rock star vibe but he's fairly entertaining. Randy has revealed he actually has some personality and more than "yo, dawg,dawg" in his vocabulary. Jennifer Lopez is believable enough in her warmth that I can forgive her physical perfection.
It will be interesting to see how the young fellow singing Dock on the Bay handles the pressures of the Hollywood rounds.
this is so cool, i cant wait to see who it is. http://www.qualityresearch.org.uk
