That wasn't what first went through my mind. Rather, I thought of all those Arabs who wear long white starched shirts that look somewhat similar. And thought that if this was a President who was trying to minimize his Muslim heritage with the American people, that this was not a good look for him.

Don't, oh please don't, say that. I was just a kid in the 70s, but even so there are fashion memories I shudder at. (Brought back, I admit, by recent streaming of "Columbo" episodes via Netflix, but still ... )
