In New York. That's 17% more votes than originally reported.

And probably 98% Democrat. I'm shocked!

They were completely incompetant at my polling place. Not only was I off the rolls this year (and I have voted in the same place for the last 16 years in every election), but they had a hard time looking up my address because...they (more than 1 person) didn't understand that when you alphabetize, numbers come first, then letters/words...I had to spell my name, a simple name like Smith over and over and over. Smith. No, SMI...S as in Sam, M like Mary...OMG.

Then they had to keep looking up how to manage my affadavit ballot.

It was all new younger people - meaning 30s 40s and 50s. Frankly, they aren't as diligent or as educated as the seniors who usually manage the polls.

Pathetic NYC.

Andrew Cuomo received 196K more votes, Carl Palladino received 12K more.

Before the find, CP had 21.26% oc AC's tally. After the find, 19.35% of AC's tally.

Vote early, vote often.

There is a method to this madness that repeats itself. The Machine creates a confused system that allows manipulation from the bosses whenever it is needed. Uncontrolled democracy hardly ever happens unless the margin of victory by the outsiders is very large. Think of votes as the pea you place under 1 of 3 shells and watch where it turns up next.

New rule: If a ballot isn't present within a week after the election, it doesn't count. This practice of magically finding enchanting, disappearing ballots and forcing recounts until the initial results change is pissing everyone off. And by everyone, I mean that in the way that everyone voted for Nixon. It happened in WA and MN, and it'll only continue to happen so long as it's a tactic that yields results.

Thank God though that the NYC mayor has the citizenry's salt intake under control!

It's not clear from the report whether the initial reports were that full of errors -- CatherineM's post makes me think maybe the pollworkers do suck that badly at counting -- or if ballots magically appeared. Or both.

Screw that. If a ballot is present election night, it doesn't count. This stuff is crap. How hard can it be?

Too bad Obama couldn't have sent some of them over with AG Holder in his failed bid to get the soccer World Cup in 2022. First the Olympics, then "the Kennedy seat," then the 2010 midterms, now this. He's on a roll!

Oh well, I guess we'll just have to watch baseball instead, which is exactly what we would have been doing anyway. I'm sure that it will be vuvuzela-free!

Coketown...You sound like Sarah Palin implying that our political rulers should start playing it straight up. Just wait until Tina Fey and Katie Couric and Karl Rove get through with your ignorant self. Have you no appreciation for the trillions of dollars at stake here?

So did Bristol win after all? Don't leave us hanging!

I mean, now Obama's getting sand kicked in his face (figuratively speaking) by Qatar! How many people do they have living there, about 100,000? And they're going to throw a world-class party better than the U.S.? Oh, how the mighty have fallen!

(Later) Wikipedia says Qatar's population is just under 1.7 million. If it was a U.S. state, it would rank 39th, behind Nebraska but ahead of Idaho.

Why do I never hear about any consequences for the people responsible for the ballots having gone missing in the first place?

Publish their names and party affiliation. Ban them from working future elections. Fine them to help pay for resulting recounts.

[counting votes promptly and accurately].

Bingo!

A couple of further thoughts on the 2022 Qatar World Cup: It will be played in June and July. Average high in June is 106 F; average high in July is 115 F. I hope their stadiums are air-conditioned! Second, Sharia is the law of the land, although alcohol is tolerated to a limited extent. Wikipedia notes: " Under Qatar's Sharia, it is illegal to show alcohol or be drunk in public." One shudders to think what is likely to happen do the run-of-the-mill drunken soccer hooligans under Sharia law, although it is likely to thin the herd a bit.

Mary Beth- no one was fired for screwing up and contributing to 911terrorist attack, Katrina rescue delays, dithering with the oil leak and you want to fire someone for losing a ballot or two?!

[You got my vote! Heh]

The voting this time round was totally screwed up. The votes were scanned and the guy at PS58 fucked up my wife's scan four times before it went through. And he could read it!

Just imagine what that is going to do for Republican votes in NYC in the future.

Trooper York said...

My vote was handled by one of my friend's from Grammer School mother who is about 80 years old.

That meant that Crazy Carl got one vote in my precient.

Waddaya gonna do?

In Illinois, they find that many just under the name, Mickey Mouse.

Wait! What happened to "accuracy that a bank would be proud of"?

The election process needs to be cleaned up. In Bay county, FL. we use paper ballots with ovals to register your vote. No machines to break or be tampered with and a quick, accurate recount. More egregious is the late arrival of absentee ballots. Usually democrat votes Minnesota and Washington being two that come to mind. I like the idea previously mentioned of a time limit. I more like the idea of no absentee ballots except for military.

A few hours after I posted, I received a letter from the board of elections saying that my affadavit vote was not counted because I voted in the wrong polling place. It makes me laugh today, but last night I was furious. I was just going to write back YOU ARE ALL MORONS. If I was in the wrong place, why didn't your brilliant workers figure this out?

Also, there was no one on the ballot from either election district that would have made a difference even if I was at the wrong place. Absurd.

I voted for Jimmy McMillan of the rent is too damn high party because I knew he wouldn't win, and I couldn't stomach Palladino or Cuomo.

OK, now I am pissed off again...
