A "disaster scenario": the Giants, trounced by the Packers, get stuck in Wisconsin.
This looked bloggable, because I thought there'd be some amusing quotes bitching about Wisconsin. There weren't, and I was about to not blog this at all, but I just wanted to give the Giants credit for professionalism, for only letting out quotes like "So we quickly adapted and went right to work." That makes the life of the blogger a lot harder, but I quickly adapted and went right to work, looking for amusing quotes in the political stories, where the spokespeople screw up every day.

I wonder if there are any Giants from NE Wisconsin who enjoyed the extra time in Wisconsin. Beer and brats, baby!
The possibility that NYC would get a significant snow was certainly mentioned a lot late last week, so the coaching staff would have been total morons not to prepare for the possibility that they'd have difficulty getting home.
Couple of the Giants players made it to the Bucks game last night, Eli among them. I have to say I was disappointed in the crowd reaction. Lots of boos. I am a die hard Packer fan but the Giants are stuck in our home, its time to break out some hospitality. They get enough rudeness back home in NY.
"Disaster scenario" = "We had an unplanned one night stay in a fancy hotel". The horror.
Appleton has a fancy "hotel?
I would do Eli in a heartbeat.

One of their backup QBs is Jim Sorgi (who, much like Ms. Althouse, we like to forget about their time spent in Michigan, based on the good they've done as Badgers).
Travis Beckum is an ex-Badger from Milwaukee, and while the Giants starting guard Rich Seubert didn't go to the UW, he is from Central WI.
Haven't seen Trooper around since last Sunday to talk about the big game. Hmmph.
I would love to be a maid for a day in that hotel and bring Eli up some fresh sheets and catching him jerking his meat.
I would be very polite, pull up a chair and just ask him to continue.
That would be hot.
What happened to Mark Chemera?
He was really hot.
That skank from Green Bay ruined his life and don't tell me she wasn't grateful to touch that or be harrassed by that hottie.
I think getting booed by the other team's fans is not nearly as mean as getting booed by your own fans. You're supposed to wear the wrath of the other team's fans as a badge of honor. Anyway, it's all part of being a good sport around here - once the public disapprobation is complete, we can be friends.
Nice to see over the holidays Ann bravely soldiers on.

He's lolling in barbaric splendor somewhere in the Caribbean.
They should have adopted the training regime of Rocky IV when he goes to Siberia.
We Giants fans are not all that eager for their return.
Waaaaaaaah.
I was truly hoping for a Giants / Jets Superbowl in that new Cowboys Stadium. Damn.
Pat's all the way.
When Tommy comes marching home the Giant's owners will ay "we hardly knew you". The players deserve a coach who appreciates and expects their best and appreciates their skills. Not a Tom Coughlan who sends every waking moment blaming the inept and mentall slow players. Sooner or later the players always meet the coach's expectations of them.

"Bloggable" is a funny word and a funnier idea. It's midway (at least in between) "newsworthy" and "has potential as a novel or script," capturing both aspects of blogging -- commentary with an offbeat, often free associating but always entertaining angle. The added condition -- "amusing quotes bitching about Wisconsin" -- suggests the limits inherent in the "bloggable" idea too. Blogging requires thematic focus (there can be more than one) combined with expressive flair. Focus here works even sharply in defining what's to be left out.
It's what we expect from movie makers and novelists more than reporters. And it's what keeps folks coming back for more.
w/v: axionche. Sounds like it should a literary term-de-jour of some sort. Fits too.
You want to see stupid quotes about football, go to a politician talking about it.
The governor of Pennsylvania was shooting off his mouth about how there really wasn't enough snow to justify moving Sunday night's game in Philly to Tuesday night.
Of course he was looking at it with 20/20 hindsight and not the forecasts of 20+ inches.
That skank from Green Bay ruined his life...
I shouldn't really respond, but for clarification, the Chmura incident happened in the Waukesha area; much closer to Milwaukee than Green Bay.
The possibility that NYC would get a significant snow was certainly mentioned a lot late last week, so the coaching staff would have been total morons not to prepare for the possibility that they'd have difficulty getting home.
As late as 24 hours before the start of the storm most of the forecasts were calling for a maximum of maybe eight to ten inches. It was only in the afternoon of Christmas Day that it became apparent that a major blizzard was on the way. By that point it may have been too late to change travel plans, especially with it being a holiday.

Was the Chmura incident the one with Gumby's babysitter? Or do I have things confused?
Chemera, a republican, was innocent, and yes it was with the babysitter who was 17 and a slut.
Unfortunately, and the saddest part of this story is he hasn't aged well.
He would not go to the White House to meet Clinton when Green Bay won because Clinton was a scoundrel and had some other commitments.
He was inducted into the Packer Hall of Fame this year.
He does now have a radio program on espn 500 something. 500 espn's really? Come on.
Chemera was from Deerfield, Mass.
garage,
Trooper went on a cruise, or something. Where have you been? Up north?
Allen, I went to a supper club in Lodi, Wisconsin and the lady who was the host has a daughter living in New Richmond.
Hugs.
Nice comment by Richard Dolan. "...Giants, trounced by the Packers..." does have a beautiful bloggy lyrical quality to it.
Presumably, this is the same NYG official who, knowing a blizzard was coming 48 hours before it arrived, was still unable to plan well enough to get the team to MN in time. Fortunately for them, the Dome collapsed (just like the Vikings' season).
What faces the Minnesota residents (taxpayers), is the upcoming push to build the Vikings a new stadium. A hard sell, giving that the Vikes really suck, but that will probably be outweighed by the Dome sucking even more. Might as well build some more train lines. It's only money, after all.
my packers may have a tough game with on the road with the giants a team in desperate mode for a win as the gmen are still trying to get in the jan party to try to knock off footballs best team but in the 4rth frame I do think the green and gold will pull away and win by 2 touchdowns.
