Is that a properly written headline about improperly cooked eggs? 6 people are dead... Should you write "cracks... eggs"?
And am I a bad person for wanting the detail — it's not in the article — of exactly how the eggs were cooked? Were they overdone? Underdone? Scrambled instead of over-easy? Over easy? Over hard.

Clearly they were laid first..so did they have pre breakfast sex?
No Professor, you are not a bad person for wanting a Julia Child lesson from a murderer...well maybe. I can see a Cosmo cover now, " The secret of how to please your man with well cooked eggs."
Maybe she broke the yolks. Nothing pisses me off more than broken yolks.
I guess I'm a bad person, too. That's the first thing I wanted to know.
I've noticed that the large eggs since the egg crisis aren't as large as before.
Apparently they're not letting them ripen.
Hey, at least he was not one of those real explosive types. He did not kill her for squeezing the toothpaste tube in the middle!
This is not the first time I have read of mayhem surrounding improperly prepared eggs. Wonder why this is a trigger for violence? Is it because cooking eggs is fairly simple and one's egg preferences can be easily made clear and therefore the wrong egg preparation automatically "disrespects" the recipient of the wrongful eggs?
Yeah, a little - it's a little on the dark side. It's not always appreciated, but we all do it.
p.s. Does anyone know - is ther a way to stay logged in on an ipad so I don't have to retype everything each time I want to comment?
Headlines like this are really bad - they imply that if that stupid woman had just cooked the eggs properly, she wouldn't be dead. It's all her fault for not making a good breakfast. Not the fault of the abusive husband who can't control his temper. She made him kill her!
You'd have to be pretty hard-boiled to want to poach a post like that. Although you get the idea that people were probably walking on eggshells around the guy anyway. The way he overreacted, you'd think he was a Muslim! ("What? You burn Koran? Death to America!")
WV: unbac. Like Beggin' Strips, not quite bacon.
There are somethings that just have to be right.
Of course, if he wanted his eggs cooked right, he should have done them himself.
I guess I'm a bad person, too. That's the first thing I wanted to know.
Mee too.
Maybe I'm even worse becuase my other thoughts were now that he is dead he will NEVER get his eggs done properly
No, it has something to do with Appalachia. The trailer reminds me of the trailer the dancing outlaw shared with his wife. He threatened her for mis-cooking his eggs. The dancing outlaw. Awesome dancer.
All this over eggs? If his steak had been overcooked he probably would have wiped out the entire town.

I suppose the writer of the headline wants to appear as if he (or she) is a grade-A, hard-boiled member of the press room, but the yolk's in bad taste. The writer ought to be whisked out of his job for writing such a rotten headline.
No more egg sandwichs!!!...screams Althouse/Crawford.
If the yolks were runny, he's lucky he didn't slip and hurt himself while he was killing them over the eggs.
This is why Meade is so exacting in the preparation of meals for Althouse.
Michael: " . . . cooking eggs is fairly simple . . . "
Nooooooo.
So easy to screw up, so hard to do right.
You probably think that having sex is simple too.
Ky. man shoots wife to death after domestic dispute, kills 4 others, self
When the glimmering outline of individual lives becomes evident, it is just sad.
"Were they overdone? Underdone? Scrambled instead of over-easy? Over easy? Over hard. "
This was the question the wife asked just before the mayhem. Some mysteries are not worth the adventure of discovery.
"I was wondering where the law was" during the ordeal, Steve Smith said.
I know that this is a hillbilly stereotype...but it's amazing that no one else in the trailer park had a weapon.
wv: damnpie...uh-oh...back away from the pie.
"And am I a bad person for wanting the detail — it's not in the article — of exactly how the eggs were cooked?"
It seems to me that all the people who knew the answer to this are unavailable for comment. On the other hand, how did the reporter even know it was about eggs?
Is it newsworthy that a woman is killed by a domestic abuser for some minor infraction? No. The spree makes it newsworthy. I wouldn't assume it's a trailer park, either. In the hills, trailers are in the valleys and notches.
I find more newsworthy the article linked below this one:
Queens mom says 5-year-old son was sexually assaulted at school by four fellow kindergartners
Now that's newsworthy!
Re ironic verb choice: maybe he snapped, then cracked, then popped.
A possible follow-up story, had Stanley Neace not ended his life via blowing his brains out...
Tumor found in the brain of man responsible for last month's rampage. Local medical expert says it was perfectly located to induce uncontrollable rage.
vw dogic--our pet dog's way of reasoning
The wife ran to a neighbor's home. Some of the people there escaped before the husband could shoot them. They probably heard the wife say that he was mad over the eggs. Now, how many other tragedies have had so many jokes told immediately after?

Since this was in Kentucky, I assume the eggs weren't cooked the way the killer gets them @ the local Waffle House. She probably forgot the grits "to boot", an homage to Wisconsin white trash.
Ye....ah. I've been to Jackson, KY. They're very picky about their eggs there. The most dangerous job in town is cooking omelets.
I don't think that eggs are easy. I can do eggs pretty well. I like the yolks broken but the egg done tenderly. My husband likes easy over... the white completely cooked and the yolk runny.
I'll do poached in the pan for Eggs Benedict and half the time between when I holler at everyone that food is done and when I turn back to the stove they go from whites cooked and yolks liquid to yolks solid. grrrr. Hollandaise sauce covers a multitude of sins.
@KentuckyLiz
The news reports state that the shootings took place in a mobile home park and Althouse's link has a pix of the mobile home where four of the victims were killed.
Over. Hard. Break 'em!
And I took the butcher knife and put it up to her neck. I said if you want to live to see tomorrow, you better start fryin' them eggs a little bit better then what you a fryin' em - I'm tired of eatin' sloppy, slimy eggs!
BJM, I'm with Kentucky Liz on this. Yes, the photo shows a trailer, but not a trailer park.
