"... would you want that to be your heartbeat?"

As much as Barry would like her to do so, she isn't going to hitch her wagon to a horse with a broken leg.

Expect her to resign after the mid-term disaster and start campaigning in the spring.

Shame on you and the rest of Republican clan for repeating that meme. How nasty and classless not to mention clueless! Even if it is in jest mocking her ambition and drive, it is still profoundly unacceptable. How come these kinds of things are never said about a man?

pm, where have you been? Are you clueless, or is this lying, false outrage. Nothing good comes from lies. Shame on you and the rest of your ilk for wishing that Palin had died in the recent plane crash in Alaska.

The days of false outrage are over and done with. It is time for big boy and big girls pants now.

I'm not sure why you're republishing quotes that are almost threatening in nature. Doesn't seem like a good strategy for a blogger.

pm317 ...

never said about a man ? really, are you that clueless ?

your knee jerk assumption of anti-women motives behind comments about Hillary shows an unseriousness that borders on fantasy ...

some people think she has ambition, currently that ambition would seem to make a run for president in 2012 a real possibility ... those are reasonable concepts, neither of which comes from her gender ... does anyone think Bill Clinton would not be talked about in the same way if he was actually eligible to run again ??? really ?

You would have to be a better sniper dodger than Hillary to stay in office. Unfortunately, I don't believe Hillary is enough damaged good (yet) to preclude her from seeking the highest office again.

Since the office of Vice President is one that is filled by a national election the Vice President does not serve at the President's pleasure.

What if Joe Biden refused to resign?

Would he never work in this town again, or something?

You obviously were not paying attention during the Democratic primaries as you would immediately realize how absurd your comment is.

Hoosier Daddy said...

Again if you were paying attention in 2008, you would have heard, quite loudly, clearly and repeatedly that Obama was not qualified or experienced for the Presidency. That could easily be translated as being clueless, which, as current events has shown, is quite accurate.

The Hildabeast is as many heartbeats from the Oval Office as she will ever be. If she challenges The Zero in '12, it will just repeat '08.

Lots of people noted how Willie's opponents and people with stuff on him died conveniently when he was Serial Rapist In Chief. It's not sexist, it's a family trait.

I can't imagine why you think this. Barry is no longer the shiney prince of 2008.

How is this remotely threatening?

Trey, I am equally outraged at all the attacks on Palin. But this post is about Althouse on Clinton.

pm317 said...

"3. If Hillary is going to be one heartbeat away from the Oval Office, would you want that to be your heartbeat?"

You all are smart people. What the hell is Reynolds implying here? and Why is Althouse repeating that here? I saw a similar line in another article something about how would Obama govern after sleeping with his eyes open all night. Things like this were said during the GE when Obama was considering his VP pick. There is something really wrong in writing and repeating these things. Is this a joke? Are we supposed to laugh?

Fen said...

Well, Hillary is alot more competent than Bumblefuck Biden. Its like he was picked VP as insurance against Impeachment.

And at least we'd have Bill back near the Oval. He may be corrupt, but at least he's not a total moron like DHOTUS.

Fen said...

Does anyone understand what the hell pm317 is moaning on about?

Fen said...

Oh I get it. If Hillary becomes VP, Obama will perish in "apparent suicide, gunshot wound to back of head" [see: Coroner reports of some two-dozen people who coincidentally crossed paths with the Clintons]

Hoosier Daddy said...

Pm, this is not mean to be snark or sarcastic but how old are you? I'm only asking because the 'heartbeat from the Presidency' meme has been bandied about at least since Bush 41picked Quayle as his VP and most recently when everyone was horrified at the potential that McCain would keel over after being sworn in and idiot Palin would take power.

In other words, this is nothing new.

Bruce Hayden said...

I don't think that anyone really expects that President Obama might be taken out if Hillary! were to become his VP. But he does not always have the best diet, and is in a high stress job, so there is a possibility that something could happen to him.

But, frankly, I would feel more comfortable with her in the second slot than Joe Biden, who appears more clueless and idiotic every month that he is in office.

I do think that there might have been some who figured that George W. Bush was preferable to Neo-Conservative "bomb them back into their caves" Cheney, and that may have been one reason that Bush survived such hate from the left while in office without any apparent attempts on his life. (But, then again, a lot of those on the right, looking back, would have preferred Cheney to Bush).

Hoosier Daddy said...

I meant to say, I got to this part of the article when this sentence jumped out at me.

The secretary of State has been quite magnificent at her job....

Again, not to be snarky but do these people actually reside in the same universe as the rest of us? Then again, the way this administration has been performing, I suppose magnificent could simply mean Hillary hasn't said or done anything monumentally idiotic in public.

traditionalguy said...

Michelle would start to guard Barry very, very close if Hillary becomes VP. No more separate vacations.

And Hillary's ambition has been a long-running joke:

Bill Clinton and Hillary Clinton returned to their home state of Arkansas for a visit and they stopped at a service station for gas. It turned out that the owner of the station was an old boyfriend of Hillary's. As they were driving away, Bill snickered and said, “See Hillary, if you had chosen him you would now be the wife of a guy who pumps gas at a service station.” She smirked and replied, “No, Bill. If I had chosen him, you would be the guy pumping gas at the service station.”

and...

Hillary Clinton went to her weekly taxpayer funded visit with her fortune teller, only to receive a frightful message. “You are going to become a widow and your husband Bill Clinton will die a violent and horrible death.” Hillary asked her, “Will I be acquitted?”

What shoud disturb you is why Hillary has such a rep in the first place.

I'd like to think that I take each issue as it comes and try to look at things reasonably. Hillary is where I draw the reasonable line. I freely admit to a reflexive dislike (putting it mildly) for the type of person/politician that she is. In a den of asps and vipers, she's one of the most poisonous.

It's more than obvious that the 2008 Dem primary that a whole lot of former Clinton 'supporters' thought the feeling was mutual. When you consider her 'stature' in Dem circles you would have thought she would have been a shoe in (considering the lineup) yet she is beaten (soundly) by a junior senator who know one knew jack about (and still doesn't) with a resume thinner than a communion wafer.

If that doesn't spell massive dislike, I don't know what does.

What a noisome message to promote. Does Ann Althouse also think Vince foster was murdered by the Clintons?

Drink Kool Aid much?

traditionalguy said...

Alpha...So who did murder Vince Foster? That is one paranoid conspiracy that actually has legs. And no one is talking on it yet, so it must be very highly connected. Did Hillary's girl friend do it in a jealous rage?

Scott M said...

I have no idea. What I do know is that Hillary, from her own words, would like to have big screens beaming the "best" way to do things at people "wherever people gather".

Read Orwell much?

If he should swap Biden with her and win. It would be wise to get a food taster. I'm just sayin'

Synova said...

VP to Pres is usually a good progression. If she thought Obama was a sure thing in 2012 she'd probably do it, and no need at all for conspiracy theories.

I can't see Obama being that secure, however. And if he is, why would he replace Biden?

I'm not sure how it happened but I've just about progressed to the point where I figure that Hillary would be okay as Pres. She might be evil, but she's not stupid.

Even so, pm's hyperventilating over the horrible insult is sort of cute, isn't it?

Scott M said...

Syn,

You're assuming he's going to run for re-election. I'd be willing to believe that as well, but I'm also not too far from believing we'll start seeing trial balloons next year that he's taken upon himself to only seek one term. Twofold if the GOP wrests control of Congress.

Unknown said...

I agree because I think the guy is so used to sliding into whatever office that if he were up against a real battle, and it looks like he will be, he'd just fold. Hillary Clinton will be 69 in 2016. That's not much younger than McCain (72 I believe) when he ran, and everyone thought was going to keel over the minute he was sworn in. I have doubts that she would be nominated in 2016. I think it's 2012 or never.

I don't think that at all.

I think he killed himself after he had sex with Hillary.

Wait, does that count?

Fen said...

I think its hysterical that the Libtards who wish "Death To Palin!" are clutching their pearls over the idea that DHOTUS should watch his back around the Clintons.

I guess the MediaMatters shills are on double-duty today.

Tro hits this one pretty well. Why on earth would Hillary hitch her wagon to a one termer? The real speculation should be how will she gracefully resign so she can start criss crossing Iowa.

Paul said...

Oh good in that case I'm OK with her holding the world's most powerful office.

More and more it appears that clock counting down to the end of civilization was set the day women were given the right to vote.

I can't imagine why you think this. Barry is no longer the shiney prince of 2008.

It would be tough.

1. Blacks are 1/3rd of the Dem Primary voters, thanks to heavy efforts over the years to get out a heavy black underclass vote in return for the promise of new free entitlements. In South Carolina the Clintons learned that racial bonds trumped the Clinton's solid record of addressing, even pandering to black issues.

2. Progressive Jews contribute half the money that goes in Democratic coffers, they dominate the lapdog Obama media. Obama has given them the progressive, socialist agenda they craved. They love Obama. As Republicans have refused to learn, being "more pro-Israel" than a Dem doesn't get that Jewish vote or the vast money resources swinging to them from Progressives - just the minority of affluent who embrace Zionism and vote overwhelmingly Democrat anyways.

Paul said...

"Stupid evil is certainly the worst possible."

I dunno...smart evil sounds like the most dangerous, but I don't want evil in the White House period. Even though we have that now.

What I want is a fighter who believes in the founder's vision of natural rights for individuals and binding constraints on government power.

Hillary is just another malignant narcissist wannabe totalitarian from the Alinsky school, and one of those in the Oval Office is enough already!!
