Myself & wife spent two nights at the Bad River Hotel & Casino a few years ago. We liked it. I literally bought the T-Shirt. Last year we went to a Casino north of Bayfield. The drinks were cheap and the Casino was poor. Their credit card machine was broken. How in the world can you run a casino without a way to make credit card charges? We played the slots, won $60 on a two dollar investment and felt guilty about taking money out of the place, off of the reservation.
Just spent a futile hour or so looking for meteors, from a graveyard. Hard to enrich a teenager when the phenomenon doesn't show up. Had to bribe him with rap to get him to go at all. I'll be remembered as the boring aunt.
Down here in Florida, I usually stick to the Leonids. We often have cooler nights in November and almost all of the mosquitoes are gone. When it's 84 degrees and muggy in the middle of the night, it's not much fun watching a meteor shower.

What a beautiful pic! Stunning.

My kids are looking for meteors now. So far none seen.
This story is funny, probably not true but what the hell...
H/T to Dan Collins.
Lurvly, I say, saturated with lurvly.
Would you care to view a pic of today's risotto?
Risotto not your thing? How 'bout a very serious fudgesicle?
Ann ... your work with a camera is a wonder but not so much for the image but for the imagination......
Chrisy...i was outside in mosquito heaven for an hour at 3am and didn't really get it that the high level clouds had moved in...
I hear your pain.

Saw the meteor's; a brief streak every three to five minutes. Got up at 2:50 am and was back in bed by 3:10.
I'd say "I can check that one of my To Do list" but it feels a bit like the "excitement" around the Kohoutek comet
And is that guy who you took a picture of "on the edge" now shooting you from a distance?
I would have looked (I'm in PA at the moment), but it's cloudy here, so no meteors for me.
Maxine Waters is giving a press conference this morning.
Maxine Waters, Bad River?
