30 million.
Some time this evening, this blog reached a big goal: 30 million visits. There have been over 50 million page views, but I've always focused on visits. It took over a year to get the first million, and I got to 2 million in less than 2 years. Now, 30 million. How cool! Thanks for reading.

Congratulations! That's quite an accomplishment, and particularly rare for a sole proprietor.
and thank you for staying with it..
Allons enfants de la patrie,
Le jour de gloire est arrivé!
Sing along, you know the words.
Congratulations, and thank you!
That's amazing! You do have great commenters responding to interesting posts. Althouse is where I learned how compelling a blog can be. Congrats and Thanks.
Yea, and Thanks for the incredible energy of doing this every day. I could never pull it off myself. It's quite an accomplishment... and you a law professor.
I hope this isn't a goodbye, but it would be funny if it were.
Can you identify the milestone visits? Who they were? Who was # 30 Million?
It's the photos and the funny word verifications I come for.
Thank you and congratulations! I like your commentary but love your photography more! Before I turn out the lights at night, I check in to see the 'current cafe'!
Thirty million is big F'ing deal. You have out worked them all at a high level of skill and creativity. My sincere thanks to you, LaAlthouse.
I was #30,004,000 and change.
Congratulations on the milestone.
Thanks!
No, I'm not about to quit... or even to miss a day (beginning January 14, 2004).
And, Lee, I am about to put up a café, so hang on!
The 30th million comment went something like this..

Thanks for giving us stuff to read.
lets not forget Meade..
Thnks dude!
I have to go.. see you all in a bit.. maybe.. it depends if there is servce where I'm going.
Congrats!
Of course, somewhere north of 18 million visits were by me.
I've said it before: it is your intellectual honesty - the courage to call it plain on as you see it - that brings me here.
And Lem and Dust Bunny, to name a couple of favorites
(I'll bet Lem never knew I noticed or liked him.)
And the whole Mead thing gives this place a romantic ambiance it lacked before.
Well done all around, Althouse.
You're welcome, and congratulations on your blogging work ethic. This is one of those times the old "if I had a nickel for every..." cliche would actually have some oomph to it.
It would be cool to know how many of those visits are mine.
Cool congrats- I like to look at the world map function. It shows dots on the globe of people on the blog recently. It just showed one reader one from Australia and one from maybe Vietnam.
You are one of the few blogs I check on several times a day. Love the pics and the thoughtful writing.
Keep up the good work.
Wish I were Meade.
Very nice!
Thank you Anne,
It is a wonderful space which you have provided and we are all fortunate that you have been so diligent, fun and superbly reliable.
I hope you see the far side of 100 million, with Meade and a smile!

Congrats! A few tens of thousands of those are me.
God, I've wasted my life.
Well, not entirely yet. Give me time...
Hi Ho!!
Welcome to the Althouse where over 30 million have visited!!
You might get to 40M by Nov. 2nd with the current ineptitude of the One and his band of Merry Pranksters!
Cool.
Fabulous milestone. Well played, Althouse.
I go through phases with blogs but I can't think of another one that I've come back to so consistently over such a long period. And this is the only blog I can bear to read the comments on.
I wandered in somewhere between the 1 million and 2 million mark. Though I'm an extremely rare commenter and a frequently frustrated reader, at least I know what I'll get when I drop by. Congratulations on this milestone.
Thisis the only blog of this nature that I read on a daily basis. I don't know how you do it .... Thanks ...
...oh and the photography. You inspire me...
wv: shboba. I don't know but ain't that a great word
Congrats, Madame, and thank you for entertaining, intriguing, and amusing us, as well as allowing us to share your joy in your romance.
We appreciate all your hard work.

Lest we forget, thank you for your constant reminders that the world truly is beautiful.
I've been lurking for years, occasionally speak but the main thing is that I learn something every day here. Your posts and the resulting comments are the most interesting of any site I frequent, bar none.
Congrats!
"Thirty Million Visitors Can't Be Wrong."
I've said it before: best content, best commenters. Congrats and thank you!
Congrats, and like others have say, thank you. In another year, or so, you'll break Cal Ripken, Jr.'s mark (so to speak).
Congratulations. Quite a feat.
Thanks for inviting us into your salon.
Lee's comments--every one--are dead on. (I refuse to use "ditto", as in "ditto-head").
The 30 million one was the return of Mort.
Damn that guy is patient.
