I'm peeved that the Republican candidates for Governor want to put the kibosh on a rail link between Madison and Milwaukee. I think it's short-sighted of them.
I'm not certain that the link will be sustainable. The secret, though, to a strong economy is multiple ways to move things around. And I think a rail link would spur economic development between the two cities. You might argue that there is a greater need for economic development in other parts of the state -- that's possibly true. But it seems a bit of cutting off your nose to spite your face to axe economic development here because it's more greatly needed there.
I haven't been following all the posts in recent weeks as I have been in and out of town, but I note TradGuy is back (and I went back and saw that you reappeared more than a week ago.)
A somewhat belated "Welcome back." :-) I (and others) were seriously missing your wise words.
Eww. So I searched Andre Thomas to see what a guy like that looks like. I always expect something like a guy with a vage on his forehead, a penis growing out his ear or something, but they almost always look like regular people. The search result in a bunch of pictures of a guy with one closed eye, but they also show this.
More on the Dow today. Trade off may have been triggered by a human entering B accidentally instead of M, according to multiple sources, in a trade involving P&G. On the other hand, it might have also been a black box sell off, a digital cascade as machines rather than humans when computers pick up the selling as stops are triggered automatically igniting a frenzy of selling.
Here in the NC piedmont, the redbuds bloom in late March, right before the dogwoods. Most leaves aren't out then, so both flowers stand out in bare woods. More satisfying to me than the showy cherries, and longer lasting.
In a dsparation tactic the local NBA team will take the floor tomorrow dressesd as 5 Dwight Howard ringers. Before the NBA refs figure it out they will have called 30 non-existant fouls on Orlando thus fouling out the entire Magic Team. In Atlanta everybody loves Dwight, but another night playing the Generals to the Globe Trotters in exhibition basketball is getting old.
Very pretty, Madame, especially the second shot. Looks like a movie location, although the first reminds me of West River Drive back in Philadelphia, and a couple of places in Bryn Mawr.
A big Hoo-ya to the SEALs - all three have now been vindicated. The whole thing never should have gotten this far, but some general, probably bucking for a seat on the JCS, made a big show of putting them through the wringer Hopefully, said general has just ended his career.

You've got to appreciate the racism at play, too. The admin couldn't possibly expect and demand that the Mexican students to control their behavior; it's the speech that must change.
The redbud tree in my back yard is dying. I'm going to cut it down soon. Will it make good firewood or should I take it to the local mulch factory. They take any old stumps, branches, logs and yard waste, then turn them into a 5-story pile of mulch and sell it back to you at reasonable prices (as long as you buy it by the yard and not in bags).
My parents retired long long ago and are now dead. Their retirement home was adorned by some red buds interspersed in dogwoods which grew like weeds and some other stuff which I think was a weed but my dad trained to make a very nice framing.

I bloomed earlier, posting a video with Hawaii's governor lying.
Now, I'm basking in the fact that WND included my video in their coverage of the lie.
P.S. That's not a real lie because, even though what she said didn't happen, in the reality created by the Beltway establishment it happened.
Webpost claims Brown told a constituent that unless Gordon had "a clear majority" he would not be giving up being Prime Minister.

Hope you are doing well.
So glad you're here to smell the magnolias.

Ann, are those pictures of your yard?
Because, I was gonna say that Mead has really worked wonders in such a short time.
Interesting day on Wall Street today.

Is that a drowning Smiley Face on the left in the pond?

@Chip Ahoy: That is one of the ickiest photoshops I have ever seen.

The turtles are happy that winter is over.

What if I'm up first in curling?

California students sent home for wearing American flags on Cinco de Mayo- U.S. flag too "incendiary."

lyssa,
On the teevees this morning, a young student said she felt "disrespected" by the US flag being shown on "their day".
This multiculti crap needs to stop.
It's destructive.
To add insult to injury, "cinco de mayo" is nothing but a PR campaign cooked up to sell Coronas.
Its not even a holiday in Mexico.
You could argue it actually does more harm than good in that it gets a lot of people drunk behind the wheel.
Snow is predicted tonight in west central WI. Boo.

Red buds are nice memories.
VIDEO: Presidential spokesman Robert Gibbs gets caught in a lie.
@Lem: Wow. Sure would like to hear Robert Gibbs explain that. I ain't holding my breath, though.
hey Lem and origian mike
the thread is about Red Buds
get a life. stop playing with yourselves.
There's a killer CD by Gabriel & Dresden entitled "Bloom".
I highly recommend anyone who enjoys really great-sounding records with a progressive (musical, not political) bent find themselves a copy.
That is all.
