"Live Blogging the iPad’s Big Day."

From the long lines at the NYC store(s).

I expect to just drop by the West Towne Apple store and pick mine up easily. We'll see how different Madison is from New York.

UPDATE: Am I pathetic to have searched Twitter to find out about the line at West Towne Mall? And here. I found a picture. I'm not the type to wait outside before the store opens, and since others are, I allow a little time for the door-crasher bulge to process.

UPDATE 2: I got it! A manageable line:

The iPad's future depends on its ability to offer content that you can't get other places.

Any content provider of any smarts won't sign an exclusive with Apple.

Therefore, the iPad will generate a lot of buzz, and then, over time, it will settle in and take its predictable place as the expensive "cool" brand that holds around 15% of the total market.

I'm not much of an early adopter. I've still got my working itouch and'll wait until the 2nd gen ipads to make a decision. It needs a few more features until I jump...

Ann, did you reserve an iPad at the store? If so, you should go through relatively smoothly.

If your store does it like the one I saw in Portland, Maine, there are separate lines for reserved iPad buyers and walk-up buyers. The reserved line was rather short and quick moving. I presume that they were giving reserved buyers preference.

So, what size are you getting 16, 32 or 64 GB?

That assumes that the device is only for consuming commercial content. It also ingores that it's attractiveness is not exclusive content, but rather a superior experience in consuming, creating, communicating, etc. etc.

LOL @ iPad Nano - I am going to start calling my iPod Touch that.

I think I'll start calling my Kindle 2 the Kindle Nano.

I will start calling my Kindle DX the iKindlePad.
