When will my reflection show who I am inside?

There's a heart that must be free to fly that burns with a need to know the reason why...

That's a picture taken a year ago, as Obama was about to take the inaugural oath. It was uploaded yesterday, along with a lot of other nostalgic photos, to the White Flickr site.

***

"Obama's first year: What went wrong."

IN THE COMMENTS: Pogo is reminded of this Magritte painting:

ADDED: Henry does the photoshopping:

Who picks these photos? That one is terrible. It even manages to make him look short.

Reminds me of Magritte, La Reproduction Interdite.

We can see him for what he is. He only sees what he wants to see. It is the difference between projection and perception.

If BHO ever sees what is in the mirror he will not be happy. His wife will be even less so.

Well at least we know he's not a vampire.

At least for sure he is not a vampire- I can see his reflection. Still it feels like a Twilight movie- except the movie series makes more money than it spends.

I feel a photoshop coming on.

Is that a bald spot I see?

On our Messiah? An imperfection?

Tell it not in Christendom!!!

PS Freeman, maybe the mirror acts like the picture of Dorian Gray.

I still cannot understand why the women swoon over this guy. I mean seriously, the man makes Erkel look masculine.

They need to get somebody else to pick the pictures. The person who does it now is obviously in love with Obama and thinks any picture of him is wonderful.

For example, I'm sure this person thought that this picture made Obama look thoughtful and deep. But it doesn't. He looks nervous and small.

Then there was the "James Bond" picture where the picture picture must have thought Obama looked cool when he actually looked like a jerk.

There are plenty of good pictures of Obama out there, so we know that he's photogenic. They need to get someone who isn't viewing everything through an "I Heart Obama" lens to select the photos.

That multicolored one where he's doing his Che pose is especially fetching.

Pictures of Obama on the golf course wearing short pants are always good. Right?

The mind inside that lovely smileing face is the mind steeped in Cultural Marxism. His prism sees all events as a steady and inevitable movement to a new Marxist Humanity that must let all earlier life forms die out and be mercy killed if it hangs around in his way too long. That my friend is stubborness walking. He will never see the good in the American people any more than Castro or Chavez will. A new Congress will need to contain him behind his iron curtain of Czars and thugs until he leaves office.

Remember that a mirror reverses front and back, not left and right.

That's how he can be a leftist in both positions.

I've been reading some leftist political stuff from the past, lately.

The ideas certainly have their appeal, especially if you are destitute, but the coldness is very noticeable. A feeling of your person disappearing is very evident as I read it.

The stuff is great for chanting in a crowd, but it seems impossible to imagine myself in such a world, where I kind of shrink into the borg. Leftist leaders never have to look at it that way; they don't shrink in it - they grow and maintian a capitalist's self-image.

I'm sure that occurs to them from time to time, so you need a kind of messiah complex to explain why you live differently than the masses.

He's not a Natural Born Citizen (his father was never a citizen, and Obama was born a dual citizen, owing allegiance to a foreign power). Could that be the reason that Roberts screwed up the oath that morning?

It looks like he is using some of that spray on hair in a can stuff to hide the bald spot.

Freeman is right. These pictures are not good images. Nervous and small indeed.

Yup. Male pattern baldness. He's human (sort of).

Women are into the metrosexual, de-masculinized, non-threatening, nurturing male. Who would you bring to a fistfight--Barack or Michelle? I think Michelle's punch would hurt. Obama's punch--not so much.

Love Henry's picture.

bagoh, read about the French Revolution too. We're almost there...

So you're saying I should just skip busting my ass at the gym and just buy a man-purse and I'll score?

How many purses does one man need, really?

The French, ha. They can't do anything right. Although the guillotine was a cool machine: simple, effective, hard to screw up, and fabulously entertaining.

Picture interesting...
But why the irresistable urge to demonize and create a diabolical narrative.

Isn't it simpler to state:
inexperienced, over-confident (with an apparent lack of healthy introspection) leftist now coming to grips with how out of sync he is with the American electorate and political motives of his Party members in Congress.

Hopefully he's a quick study (after his rough internship year)

I'm missing something: Why the Disney tag?

Freeman: I think you should select the photos for the White House.

Lance: It links to a "Mulan" video.

Henry said...

We are? Are we going to storm the Bastille and find it empty?

Henry said...

@Lance: It's the Mulan lyric before the photo.

If they would pay me, I would do it.

Unfortunately, I think they would rather eat glass than cut someone like me a check.

Re: "He's not a Natural Born Citizen (his father was never a citizen, and Obama was born a dual citizen..."

Of course he is a Natural Born Citizen or he would not have won all the 365 Electoral Votes that he won on Nov. 4, 2008. Birthers had a campaign to contact all the Electors and ask them not to vote for Obama because of the claim that Obama is not a Natural Born Citizen, and no one of the 365 changed a vote. The Congress confirmed Obama Unanimously.

Why? Because the original meaning of Natural Born was simply "born in the country." It is not affected by dual nationality or by the citizenship of one or two parents. And Obama was born in Hawaii, as his official birth certificate shows, and the facts on that document were twice confirmed by the officials in Hawaii.

Obama is either looking to make sure his suit isn't empty while he gets one last real glimpse of epic fail.

What Freeman said. Who on earth is choosing these photos? Half of them make him look terrible in some way or other. This one... what could be more narcissistic than staring at yourself in the mirror? And people already say Obama is a narcissist - the photo plays right into a political weakness he already has!

Do you think Karl Rove somehow....?
