The image of serial affairs everywhere Tiger went means to Accenture Accountants that Tiger is an image of a serial deciever. That is exactly the image that an accounting firm exists to stop and in its place project an image of an honest business that can be trusted with money. It boils down to a character issue in a free market that serves customers, totally unlike the ethics allowed in a gangland setting. Tiger is no longer a great golfer even if he wins sometimes. Golf itself relies upon honest self reporting of scores. Tiger is now seen as a habitual hider of his Scores.

I thought the message from the failure to remove Bill from office was that compartmentalization works.
As long as Bill did his job his private life was btwng him Hillary and his god.
I would imagine that if you wanted to be a good golfer, you have to constantly practice. What's the possibility, now, that Tiger is able to tell the wifey, "I'm going to head over to the golf course, and practice"? How long is he going to be able to still be a great golfer? What if he takes a year or so off, and then tries to make a comeback, and can't make the cut? What a trajedy of epic proportions that would be.
I'm still trying to figure out what it is "that didn't need to be said" here. By definition, adultery ain't private. According to the whore, Tiger screwed her, and screwed her over, so how does she owe him discretion?
Now, if the suggestion is that whatever she's said will make her look bad, she's already a whore who will sleep with a married man while his father's dying nearby. I'd say she's waaay beyond - and it's more-than-a-little late for - such concerns.
The only answer is for people to treat each other decently - starting with their spouses. (Duh.) Anything less and this is what you've got coming to you - nobody owes you shit.
BTW - I did the same thing to my ex once it all came out: told shit about that slippery sausage queen I'd never admit when we were married, because (why not?) we weren't married anymore! This whore ain't with Tiger, so she owes him nothing.
@Crack I don't think we need to know that Tiger happened to be doing the wrong thing we already knew he did when that particular thing happened. Unless you think twisting the knife of shame is worth doing.
Traditionalguy, Accenture is a management consulting firm. They're not accountants. They're the former "Andersen Consulting", which was the M.C. practice that broke off from Arthur Andersen years ago--several years before A.A. went down on the Enron sinking ship. They've had nothing to do with accounting for 15 to 20 years. It was a pretty acrimonious split, as well, since the M.C. practice and partners earned much more than the Audit & Tax bunch, and they didn't want to share.
When I was in law school, my con law prof told the class that it was sexist for a law firm recruiter to say he was looking to hire “tigers.”
This law prof also taught “Women and the Law” so I figured she must know what she’s talking about.
Yes...because we all know that tigers don't reproduce like all other mammals. They are all male and when one dies, another one springs up out of the ground somewhere...usually India.
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, Tiger, you’re being dumped!
That’s the report from Britain’s News of the World, citing a Woods family friend who says the golf phenom’s humiliated wife is in talks with divorce lawyers but keeping up a show of normal family life through the holidays for the sake of their two children.
Elin Nordegren, betrayed by her husband with as many as 13 women at the media’s last count, wants to spend Christmas with Tiger and the kids in Sweden. After that, her New Year’s resolution is to lose 185 pounds of cheating husband, the British tabloid reports.
John Daly took the long route back to, well, wherever he is today by saying "screw you" to the golf establishment when he realized that they would not come to terms with him and his demons. You might not like him, but instead of just going away, he made his peace with those demons.
The push for scandalous details is getting disgusting. Several media types are now saying that Tiger must "come clean about everything." Why? So Elin can suffer further public humiliation? So his kids can look it up when they get older? So women involved who do not want publicity can be outed?
We are now at the point where the attention to the details tells more about us than about Tiger Woods.
I thought the message from the failure to remove Bill from office was that compartmentalization works.
As long as Bill did his job his private life was btwng him Hillary and his god.
Like Hell.
His job did not include grazing on interns.
He was open to all sorts of blackmail and could have compromised this country's security (like he didn't, anyway). Willie's God was Willie.
If Tigers dalliances rises to the level of a banishment from the commercial airwaves we may be asking mere mortals to be better than the angels.
What's so wrong with that?
This is the old Lefty line of using the word, "human", or one of its synonyms, to excuse bad behavior because, if enough of the hoi polloi do it, they'll need some form of welfare to bail them out.
Alan...Thanks for the info. I always think of CPA firms doing consulting as one side of the coin with Audit and Tax Returns as the other side. Without the inside info from past Audit and Tax work, the consultants would have to start from scratch. But the bigger bills are still the ones paid upfront to save the sinking ship and shift blame as well.
Door #12, Jamie Jungers, appears to be a natural-born conniver, the kind of blind date you drop off long before the stroke of midnight - when things are bound to go from bad to worse.
This thread reminds me of when I'm looking for NewAge info:
I find a bit of truth here, a bit of truth there, but rarely does anyone put it all together into anything meaningful.
Let's start at the top:
"I don't think we need to know that Tiger happened to be doing the wrong thing we already knew he did when that particular thing happened. Unless you think twisting the knife of shame is worth doing."
Yes, I think "twisting the knife of shame" is what's called for. Everyone involved in this (other than Elin) is a depraved whore with no respect for anyone, or anything, but themselves - and, like everyone into this NewAge culture, nothing can or will stop them but (depending on their level of depravity) exposure, shaming, imprisonment, or death. The rest of us don't matter enough; otherwise they wouldn't be in that situation in the first place.
The man was cheating on his new bride when his father died and, after visiting the body, all he could think of was screwing? That's depraved. Reminds me of my ex getting involved with that killer homeopath while arranging her mother's funeral:
Just the lowest of the low - and a MAJOR mindfuck for his spouse to live with.
"The push for scandalous details is getting disgusting. Several media types are now saying that Tiger must 'come clean about everything.' Why? So Elin can suffer further public humiliation? So his kids can look it up when they get older? So women involved who do not want publicity can be outed?
We are now at the point where the attention to the details tells more about us than about Tiger Woods."
It certainly does:
It says we're not all inhuman. It tells the depraved ("women involved who do not want publicity can be outed") there's no place to hide your betrayal of innocents. It gives Elin ammo in court (I'm still amazed, four years after my supposed "no-fault" divorce, how little support others give to the betrayed in this kind of situation) and, yes, let's the kids know, unequivocally, who destroyed their family. Or do you think it's better that, maybe, eventually, rich-and-popular-assed Tiger will be able to twist things so it looks like their mom had some role in the break-up? That's not only unfair to the totally blind-sided spouse who (no matter how together she may appear) is probably in shock, has already been betrayed, and had her life forever altered in a manner almost beyond comprehension.
One of the reasons I've become such an extreme hard-ass is because I now know how little others care about the consequences of their actions - you, David, are more concerned about something as shallow as appearances (what do we look like?) than the reality of the harm done to Elin, or the effect this behavior has on social order - I've lost my wife, friends, career, money, social standing, a lot of respect for humanity, and my former verve for life itself, all because of shit like this and you're worried about "women involved who do not want publicity can be outed"?
That's not just cold but cruel beyond belief - meanwhile, you think you're being "sensitive".
It's utter madness and one of the surest ways to destroy society from within.
"This is the old Lefty line of using the word, 'human', or one of its synonyms, to excuse bad behavior,..."
Exactly. One of the "tricks" of NewAge thinking is good ol' solipsism:
sol⋅ip⋅sism [sol-ip-siz-uhm]

1. Philosophy. the theory that only the self exists, or can be proved to exist.
2. Extreme preoccupation with and indulgence of one's feelings, desires, etc.; egoistic self-absorption.
AKA "It it feels good, do it" or (Nike's) "Just Do It". As Tiger proves, that's not being human:

That could be a pretty good ad slogan for Trojan.

Just thought I’d pass that along.
If you're in the sack with a hooker when you're dad kicks the bucket do you get, like, a bereavement discount?
Sweet!
oops, just "your"...

What was that old joke: Tiger's revenge by Claude Balls or Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon...?

New type of golf cart for Tiger?
Lem, it's pretty simple - his former image served their purpose; his current image no longer does.

Report: Elin Nordegren to leave Tiger Woods

We are now at the point where the attention to the details tells more about us than about Tiger Woods.
However, John Daly had to hit the bottom first, because it was only from there that things were looking up. Tiger is still falling.
I'm looking forward to Tiger's ads for Viagra such as:
You don't want to be holding up play when you are the only guy in the foresome!
Don't be pulling out your putter when what you really need is your BIG DRIVER!
Timing, as they say, is everything.

Axe Grinding:
Didn't Accenture's contract with Woods simply expire? Making their statement tangential, and mean-spirited.
