I'm winding down the evening listening to Jane Monheit. Here's Jane's wonderful rendition of A Case of You. It's as good as Judy Collins' original, and Diana Krall's sexy version as well.
I'm thankful that Ann and Laurence married. I don't know why I typed that; perhaps it's because of the mellowness of the evening where I am.
The Althouse blog has changed since their marriage. It has become richer.
The photos now are more often of outdoor settings, plants, trees, rocks, lakes, and ponds, and less frequently of cafes and restaurants. One senses that Meade's love of the outdoors has taken Ann more frequently to places where nature can be photographed.
Anyhow, that's how it looks tonight from where I have happily spent another day above the sod.

I think it's in our nature to feel happiness projected either by friends and family or even total strangers and to draw some of it into ourselves.

Interesting point. Many of the photos were dark and moody, now they are sunlit; before we didn't see that incandescent Althouse smile very often, now we bask in its warmth and joy.
A reflection of Ann's soul these days.
Meade, you do good work.
WV "iniardo" What Ann says when someone is looking for Meade.
Woodcocks are actually a closer match than Turtledoves, with Mourning Doves a close second.
We've been graced with a pair of Mourning Doves nesting in our crab tree for the last several years. They use the same flimsy looking nest over and over.
"The Mourning Dove is monogamous and forms strong pair bonds. Pairs typically reconvene in the same area the following breeding season, and sometimes may remain together throughout the winter. However, lone doves will find new partners if necessary. With two squabs per brood...both parents incubate and care for the young. Mourning Doves eat almost exclusively seeds, but the young are fed crop milk by their parents."

Thought for a second it was Tiger Woods, cut down to size
My how a year has flown by! The Thanksgiving decorations are out again.
"Thanksgiving decorations are out again."
That's because some of us give thanks year round, victoria.

And her brilliant take on Over the Rainbow.
Looks like my wife's knee after a bad night's work.
WV "sucomodo" I don't know either, but it's got something to do with Maureen Dowd.
Cypress knee. Boy, learn something new every day. This calls for a nice hot bowl of oatmeal.

It's totally Zen these days. I love how Ann looks in her photos, so at peace, especially since I know Meade is the one taking them.
A banty hen sitting protectively upon her brood.
vw: karyar. What the banty says when you get too close to her babies.
We once had a banty who adopted a clutch of baby ducks. She was soooo upset when they went into the water.

My first thought was "turtledoves", which would fit with the banty hen and marriage mellow comments.
Apparently the Cypress Knee Cafe is where one sucks up to Althouse and pretends to be part of her personal life.
Awwwwwwww.
My internet connection is wonky tonight. I might just get to bed early.
Michael, thanks for the links. She's quite the singer.
Always a learning experience on Althouse.
To Suck-up: To behave obsequiously towards, ingratiate oneself with,
Obsequious: Characterized by or showing servile complaisance or deference; servilely compliant or deferential; obedient; dutiful.
Curmudgeon: a bad-tempered, difficult, cantankerous person; Crusty, churlish, disagreeable.
Awwwwww. Looks like curmudgeon edges out suck-up for accuracy of application.
Meredith Baxter is a dyke.
Does anyone else find that troubling?
I always thought of her as the model mom. Now I picture her chewing carpet.
How very sad.
That photo looks like two birds nestled up together to me.
Michael, I am sorry those renditions sound liberal to me and therfore I can not appreciate.
I hope you understand.
And Meredith Baxter is a dyke?
What is the world coming to.
Lord help us.
Who's next June Cleaver? Doris Day? Oliva Newton John?
