Lem... I have a question for Machos, care of you. Would you ask him if he would be willing to saw off his nuts to save you from alcohol poisoning? Because if he would, he's a great friend.
You don't need me, Lem. You've got Machos. He's a wrestler (or at least an aficionado of Mexican wrestling). And he's rich. And he can spell. He's a great guy.
anybody ever says "secretary gates says" ... they are probably making it up.. thinking that nobody ever listened to the secretary so it is totally safe to make quotes up.
because it was the anti-bush gig that allowed some quaters to hang their hat as it were that Obama was the "change" candidate and that their vote for him had nothing to do with his race.

The linked part is a quote from the opinion column by Bone.
Prior to 2001 there were crusades to bring the horror of life for women in Afghanistan to Western notice... of women jumping to their deaths from apartment buildings because they weren't allowed to leave without male escorts, of the fingernails pulled from little girls for wearing polish, of the worst sort of things. The Taliban enforced rules that denied women the right to gain medical knowledge and denied women the right to be seen by male doctors... and they, and their babies, died.
Now we're told that the Taliban isn't the enemy... and maybe it's not our enemy but where are the voices for those women now? There are clinics, there is training for mid-wives, progress has been made in Afghanistan compared to before.
But Bush isn't president anymore. Maybe western feminists can convince Obama that we need to stay and need to win and that the Taliban are not nice people.
btw Althouse's opiates disclaimer may have been told in jest but as my own council i believe she has given me a free spech protection otherwise not afforded by the laws of common exchange.
The fire of Western feminism has quietly died away, first as a victim of its success, lately as a victim of cultural relativism, of anti-Americanism and reluctance to be seen to be condemning the enemies of the enemy.
Am i wrong to assume (many lawyers here) that if you break a pledge that has signified an award, like the Nobel, any interpretation other than that broken pledge is fair game..
as a matter of logic I think i'm right.
its how baseball works. you write down the rules, the rules are are at some point disregarded (Pete Rose) if you do not enforce those rules, the result of the breaking of the rules becomes the new rules.
in other words the Nobel peace prize award IS NO LONGER AN ACHIEVEMENT AWARD, it is a beauty peagent, a high school presidency contest.
Its like something out of a movie that Obama felt compelled to repeat the oath for real. the oath that only a year into his privilege to observe he is so willing to stretch and push its envelope, cozing up to our, by words if not deeds; enemies.
remember how drudge brought down the house of Clinton but with a loose lip confidant.
there is no telling as to the damage that can be done if we are to let it be known of our effort to engage the house of obama in a foreign unanticipated union.

you know as long as we have the ability and the freedom to express ourselves there is a chance that we can make ourselves the 'persuers of happiness', the happiness mentioned in the declaration. that is really all we need to have a fair shot at. a even shot at persuing happiness.
the first thing is the freedom and the ability to put into words that something whatever it is.
liberals and conservatives are the categories, the patterns that suits a given necessity to how a persuer sees it at that moment. a snap shot.
because it is the the 'persuing of happiness' (a moving target) in the end that makes it all worth while is the reason for all this.
an why we must not have it any other way.
wv briersti - sometimes you cant help but be long.
thats another thing most of the time "a leader" is the first person to get in the way of the persuit of happiness.

it was explained to me (by a lawyer i dated btw) that it is because controversial and otherwise repugnant speech exist the reason why the first amendment exist. in other words if there was no repugnant speech there would be no need to have a first amendment. yes.. she explained to me the difference btng private and public/government and how the first amendment only covers what the government cannot forbid you to say.. yadi yada.
but the road to .. begins with only but a step.. in the direction of the persuit.

The anti-American right wing is in full swing here I see. I've refrained from commenting until all the silly howlers have had their say and in the end they said very little except to demonstrate that winning the price and the reasons for it are way way way over their heads.
Obama ran on a platform that now only gave him victory it gave the rest of the world hope that we wouldn't elect a numbnuts fool in the mold of Bush and that he would lead the country in the right direction with ethics instead of Rovian delights.
He won it, boys and girls, for his stand on American values and how those values could improve the world. In a country full of nasty and lying fools he took a stand and won and defeated the awful direction this country was lurching toward.
We were a joke to the rest of the world because Bush and his policies were a joke and offered no hope to anyone who looks to us for leadership. McCain was little more than a doddering fool 'bomb bomb bomb, bomb bomb Iran" ..remember?
In a time when we should cheer that our President wins this prize there should be congrats instead of the boorish behaviors exhibited here and elsewhere.
Further, if you don't believe in the Prize then what should it matter or is it jealously that those you have supported will only win a trip to the doghouse of history.
So far, it seems that the concensus is that Obama didn't actually do anything to warrant winning the prize. But he's not Bush.
Since Obama's only real "accomplishment" during the nomination period was his murder of innocent kids as part of the extrajudicial, targeted assassinations that he ordered of suspected terrorists sitting out in the middle of nowhere doing nothing, I don't really understand the argument that Obama is somehow a paragon of humanity and compassion compared to the last president (who had someone in his administration who said he would hypothetically torture a child to get time-sensitive information necessary to save American lives).
And just to give all the latecomers a fair shot at answering, I'll repost the question I asked yesterday afternoon:
Can any of the Obama defenders point out anything in particular that Obama did before February 1st, 2009 that qualifies him for the prize?
The only thing of any note that I can remember him doing in that time period is a missile strike on Pakistan that killed some innocent civilians.
But shouldn't winning the Nobel Peace Prize require doing more than just bombing a sovereign, peaceful nation and murdering its men, women, and children?
The Bone article doesn't offer any arguments, it just poses rhetorical questions. You offer up Bush, but you don't address why under Bush we allowed sharia law to be enforced in Iraq after our invasion, and as Iraqis started holding elections. Bone mentions clitorectimies - to when end I'm not sure, but there are feminists actively working to stop that practice, both women in the countries where it is practiced and in Western nations - one thing they've done is to seek refugee status for women who've fled their nations to evade being subjected to the practice. The V-Day organization (part of the whole Vagina Monologues thing) is in Congo this year, addressing this and the plague of rapes that's accompanied the Congo wars. Feminist Majority has been active in Afghanistan and Pakistan on women's health and education rights. There's a lot going on. You can look around and find that out for yourself.
The rhetoric around our invasions of Iraq and Afghanistan used the issues around women and the Taliban to gain support for our actions, and I believe the boots on the ground - men and women in our armed forces - have had an effect as they interact with the people. But on the national level, not just with Obama but with Bush also, it was just rhetoric. Look to more grassroots organizations for real action.

sorry i had to go for a beer run
oh darn .. you guys have a gay thing going on here?
make love in public?
no wonder you dont want to talk to me..
my experimentation days are long over.
i had a thing for having a girl insult me. and she had to be convincin.
it got to the point where i was allways disapointed.
there are only so many insults that can be genuine when you are naked.
Now, if that nice little Machos guy.
i didnt pick up on that.
i need to read titus more ;)
Machos and Montana play lib conservative on a blog?
i think its romantic.
i tried to figure Maxine but shes all stuck up.
no open comments on her blog.
means no time for anybody but herself. selfish coldfish.
wv enders - yes dead enders. I miss secretary don rumsfeld.
anybody ever says "secretary gates says" ... they are probably making it up.. thinking that nobody ever listened to the secretary so it is totally safe to make quotes up.
if i were to give advise .. ah let me just do it.
add some people with a flare for a turn of frase.
evrything coming out of this wh is boring.
believe me i look.
wv - cowear - and mats.. see Chip
i mean do they have a dom runsfeld in this wh?
who?
Obama has to do all the heavy lifting.. it would be helpfull to him to have somebody strong in there h can play off of.
He neutered Hillary so shes out
thats what made Bush Bush.
he had people around him that could speak for themselves.
could you imagine obama having a loose canon like general Powell?
Obama ran so effectively against Bush aproaching everything as thou it were a Bush thing handicaps him big time.
because he has to be as it were both a perceived Bush problem and the anti bush coming in to save the day.
the play its so convincing and looked foward to it earned an award from the Nobel people before the end of the first act.
the you are not Bush play.
the problem is.. allow me to use an illustration.
After world war 2 i dont believe you had people running for anything in terms of im not that guy or thank god i'm not a nazi.
if it were not for the other "externality" totally monopolized by the black candidate the anti bush thing would not have been as effective.
why the anti bush thing not as effective?
because it was the anti-bush gig that allowed some quaters to hang their hat as it were that Obama was the "change" candidate and that their vote for him had nothing to do with his race.
it was Bush who played the black guy running for office in the 30s.
as it were. (mind you he was not even runing as black or white)
in a way we can argue as to the legacy of Bush prevailing well into the next administration so well as shape policy.
dont fool yourself anti-bush still bush.
give you an example.
so well as to continue to shape policy
you guys need to get in here and read along with me as i develope waht im thinking.
wv ducti - yes i'm im all like my president diction talk speech telepromter.
Beth, it's not just my opinion.

Pamela Bone has died but in her last years she lamented, or wondered, at the spectacle of women and feminists side-by-side with those from cultures that deny women and girls even basic human rights... just to protest the "enemy".
the example..
when 9/11 happened bush did not send hundreds of thousands of troops into afganistan.
Obama is told to send the troops to afganistan that Bush mistakenly sent to Iraq.
the problem is not sending troops to afganistan has allways been a good idea.. it was a Bush idea.
example no 2
if you as the first african amreican president still need the white president to make your legacy, to hold your hand.. what good have can you possibly acomplish other than continue the legacy of the past?

I'm not saying althouse is responsible for my drunk screed.. I'm saying as she so eloquanly said "i'm not responsible"

im kidding.

thats a good quote.
hi Synova.
btw we or i havent red amba in a while.
where is amba?
if someone here tonight poses as amba let him/her come foward.
its like i'm talking to a ghost.
maybe thats the allure of this thing.
we are ghost.
Elvis got snubed by the Nobel comedians?
Unchained Melody .
Im not surprised.. he may have been too good for them.
Am i wrong to assume (many lawyers here) that if you break a pledge that has signified an award, like the Nobel, any interpretation other than that broken pledge is fair game..
as a matter of logic I think i'm right.
its how baseball works. you write down the rules, the rules are are at some point disregarded (Pete Rose) if you do not enforce those rules, the result of the breaking of the rules becomes the new rules.
in other words the Nobel peace prize award IS NO LONGER AN ACHIEVEMENT AWARD, it is a beauty peagent, a high school presidency contest.
a joke.
if you take for examle the gold glove award.. there is allways contention there ..
but ther eis never a contention that the person that got it didnt make any game saving plays..
never any question about that.
the oath of office.
you would think something so simple why do it?
do you think that the Nobel people have an oath?
there is no oath, there is no oath!
and id there was its no longer in effect,
i recited the oath when i became a citizen in 1986.
I solemly swear that i will faithfully protect and defend the constitution of the United States against all enemies foreing and domestic and i will
ill be honest i'm a little fussy on the rest but its not like im in office or in the field fighting.
Its like something out of a movie that Obama felt compelled to repeat the oath for real.
the oath that only a year into his privilege to observe he is so willing to stretch and push its envelope, cozing up to our, by words if not deeds; enemies.
if only we were as in a play.
and our words had still value more than the swords that gave meaning to the words of our forefathers.
we would find a possible groom for Mali.. we would seek titus council of course.
we would entrust our future to the gile of the young.
we musent let drudge find out or it will all be for not.
remember how drudge brought down the house of Clinton but with a loose lip confidant.
there is no telling as to the damage that can be done if we are to let it be known of our effort to engage the house of obama in a foreign unanticipated union.
we must sworn, our solicited hard won brother in arms, MUST SWEAR to an unmutable, unshakable secrecy the secrecy of the house of Lem.
I can and only i must carry this burden.
its for the good the people ;)
i must have on my desk before noon tomorrow all the names of the co conspirators.
no ifs ands or buts.
you have your orders.
i'm looking for something to play but is as if i'm bloked.
if Obama getting the prize is an artistic expression it can only be caractresied as 'deconstruction' in my book.. which is a fancy way of saying fake.
i got to find fake in song.
the opposite of Bush?

Show me
Show me the meaning of the word
Show me the meaning of the word
'Cause I've heard so much about it
They say, "Hey, you can't live without it"
Welcome to the human race
With its wars, disease and brutality
You with your innocence and grace
Restore some pride and dignity
To a world in decline
Welcome to a special place
In a heart of stone that's cold and gray
You with your angel face
Keep the despair at bay
Send it away, and
Show me the meaning of the word
Show me the meaning of the word
'Cause I've heard so much about it
I don't want to live without it
I don't want to live without it
Oh, I want love
I want love
I want love
Welcome here from outer space
The Milky Way is still in your eyes
You found yourself a hopeless case
One that's seeking perfection on earth
That's some kind of rebirth, so
Show me the meaning of the word
Show me the meaning of the word
'Cause I've heard so much about it
Don't make me live without it
Oh, love
I want love
I want
Love
I want love.

Theres nothing you and I wont do
Ill stop the world and melt with you

Dream of better lives the kind which never hate
(you should see why)
Dropped in the state of imaginary grace
(you should know better)
I made a pilgrimage to save this humans race
(you should see why)
What Im comprehending a race that long gone bye
(Ill stop the world) Ill stop the world and melt with you

Tainted Love
Sometimes I feel I've got to
Run away I've got to
Get away
From the pain that you drive into the heart of me
The love we share
Seems to go nowhere
I've lost my lights
I toss and turn I can't sleep at night
Once I ran to you (I ran)
Now I'll run from you
This tainted love you've given
I give you all a boy could give you
Take my tears and that's not nearly all
Tainted love
Tainted love
Now I know I've got to
Run away I've got to
Get away
You don't really want any more from me
To make things right
You need someone to hold you tight
You think love is to pray
I'm sorry I don't pray that way
Too Drunk to Fuck
Went to a party
I danced all night
I drank sixteen beers
And I started up a fight
But now I am jaded
You're out of luck
I'm rolling down the stairs
Too drunk to fuck
Too drunk to fuck
Too drunk to fuck
Too drunk, to fuck
I'm too drunk, too drunk, too drunk to fuck
I love your stories
I like your gun
Shooting out truck tires
Sounds like loads and loads of fun
But in my room
Wish you were dead
You ball like the baby
In Eraserhead
Too drunk to fuck
Too drunk to fuck
Too drunk to fuck
I'm too drunk, too drunk, too drunk to fuck
Too drunk to fuck
Hmm
Too drunk to fuck
I'm too drunk, too drunk, too drunk to fuck
we are really lucky that Althouse in her hart of harts is an artist first and a lawyer second.
its a perfect.
the law in her does art good.
btw all of you "i got deleted by althouse" isint that wonderfull...
the easiest thing in the world is to get deleted by althouse..
where is the challenge in that?
its like when JC goes back to check on the crew and finds them all sleeping..
"all this time you been with me and you dont know me".
ok.. i should say 'asta luego'.
les amo mucho.

Jesus Fucking Christ, is this drunken, hare-brained old bitch still at it? Someone fetch me a box of wine...

for a "slave" you sure dont know your place.
Police state analogies might be a good idea for someone who clearly needs to "STEP AWAY FROM THE KEYBOARD".
The reason that "Ghandi" (sic) never won the Nobel Peace Prize is that people couldn't spell his name correctly!
G-A-N-D-H-I, Gandhi!
For a quick mnemonic, just think of Gandhi waving hello to you. You can't spell Gandhi without H-I!
Thank you.
Dayem.....how much did you have to drink last night/this morning Lem?
Do you need a ride to the hospital for a good old-fashion stomach pumping? LMAO.
Is this where the right wing imbeciles hang on every word from their fat-faced Nancy Grace lookalike?
So far, it seems that the concensus is that Obama didn't actually do anything to warrant winning the prize. But he's not Bush.
Since Obama's only real "accomplishment" during the nomination period was his murder of innocent kids as part of the extrajudicial, targeted assassinations that he ordered of suspected terrorists sitting out in the middle of nowhere doing nothing, I don't really understand the argument that Obama is somehow a paragon of humanity and compassion compared to the last president (who had someone in his administration who said he would hypothetically torture a child to get time-sensitive information necessary to save American lives).
Real child murder = Nobel Peace Prize!
Hypothetical child torture = War crime!
Ad hominem, projection, ad hominem compressed into a single non sequitur. You've learned well.
To answer your nonsense, no, it's the place where even the likes of you are tolerated.
Heh...Chip Ahoy...thanks for biting. Are you a Focus on the Family member?
Nice blog Nancy Grace has here.
Synova,
The Bone article doesn't offer any arguments, it just poses rhetorical questions.
