"Primiti Too Taa" on YouTube, at last!
I loved this when I saw it at some animation festival years ago and am so pleased to find it — Via Metafilter — on YouTube:

Word verification gone wild?
Years ago. Years and years ago. Back in the day. Way back when. It's hard to even pin down the memory of the first viewing. It's lodged back of the mind, jostling for space with all kinds of other first-of-a-kind memories. More cool things have been forgotten than any of us will ever know.
(That's a little game I like to play w/ my hipster friends.)
((Not that I think you're a hipster.))
Or a friend, for that matter. )snark(
Loved it.
Reminded me of the improvisational, make-believe language my brother and I used to goof around with. We actually had conversations.
ME: Mappel blat dixin corpal garbbl seen.
HIM: Kabben yop?
ME: Nex, nex. Shorboon pal, nixee plammenplaxen. Bleezen torp beegans likkserbon. Dorpel til feemel blane.
HIM: Ah! Shamun plix tabben kor, jakke sil maggens neen!
Please don’t ask me how old we were when we would do that.
Suffice it to say we were both well old enough to sire children.
Yikes!
wv = perat. That's one I don't think we ever used. But who knows?
P.S. To get the full effect, you had to make it real animated.
Good times.
Sound poetry
Not sure I could take a full evening of it.
WV is sound poetry.

I thought we were supposed to avoid encouraging Ebonics.
Sounds like when the teleprompter isn't being used.
OK I'll be the outsider and say that this was the dumbest waste of two and a half minutes I've spent.
I cannot wait for my son to wake up from his nap. He is obsessed with letters and the sounds they make. He loves to spell things out, real things and nonsense, to read aloud. He will love this. (Wake up, wake up, wake up, wake up...)
I consider it to be a significant sliding off in my aliveness that I burst into nonsense sound less and less as the years go by.
To be picky, it's
eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee bo
with a b, not a p.
The response to Kabben yop? could just as well be Yag, yag, as Nex, nex.
"To be picky, it's
eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee bo"
I was standing on my head.
There are a number of other version of the poem on Youtube some with more interesting animation but similar idea. It has a kind of attraction - you want to sing along, but...well kwiiiee.
"Ann Althouse said...
I was standing on my head."
Then it's:
¡oq əəəəəəəəəəəəəəəəəəəə
Does anybody do traditional frame by frame film animation anymore?
I fear an entire artform is lost.
Ebow
The EBow or ebow (brand name for "Electronic Bow" or Energy Bow) (often spelled E-bow in common usage) is a hand-held, battery-powered electronic device for playing the electric guitar, invented by Greg Heet in 1969. Instead of having the strings hit by the fingers or a pick, they are moved by the electromagnetic field created by the device, producing a sound reminiscent of using a bow on the strings.
OT
If anyone in the market for a Gauguin ebay has a woodcarving starting at $1,000,000.
Free shipping.
That was just the hit with my son that I thought it would be.
I miss animation festivals.
I keep waiting for Mike Scrimshaw's two cartoons (that I know of) to appear on the 'net. They may be too obscene for YouTube, tho'.
I guess you had to be there.
I strongly suggest you check out the Alvin Lucier recording "I Am Sitting in a Room" if you haven't already.
