I was on my Barcolounger recliner raft today at the lake, with a paddle, and went out into open water and laid back and watched the clouds build themselves up into huge storm anvils that someone east of us is going to be moistened by.
I had a chip ahoy moment today. I was driving on a two lane road from Prestonsburg toward Goble Roberts, in a narrowish valley in the mountains, and a big black dog ran across the road further ahead of me (not like I had to brake for its safety or anything, not that close)...the dog flat out bolted across the street. Didn't see where it came from or where it went to.
Like chip ahoy's animated mystery black dog of the forest
I immediately thought, chip ahoy animated that in. How clevah to do it IRL!!!
Consider the lilies of the field. They neither weave nor dye nor sew, but your heavenly Father clothes them in beauty. Have no anxiety about your clothing. Jesus in the Sermon on the Mount, Matthew Chapter 5, paraphrased.

High above a daffodil
I couldn't hardly reach it
Said I to me I think I will
Get it for my teacher
I climbed to reach the daffodil
Out on a limb so thin
I tumbled down like Jack and Jill
And skinned my little chin
The Little House is not there anymore.Goodnight Ann girl and Meade boy..
My mother grew up on the South Dakota prairie. She said that clouds such as those in the photo portended a windy, windy day.
But then, she's not at all romantic. She told me she thought this Harvey Dunn painting was very bleak indeed.
Crop to be announced.
Ah, Willa Cather would be proud.
THIS looks like a job for . . .

What an absolutely beautiful photo. Thank you.
My sentiments were so sincere I had to express them twice. LOL Sorry. I thought the first one didn't take.
I just went to my 20th reunion this weekend. Now that causes some reverie, let me tell you.
Ann, can you go back to that spot and take a photo in six months? It will make the summer one that much more amazing by comparison.
That is a great photograph. All four seasons there. Please.

Thanks for that, liz.
When people I know send off the "happy"? Well I guess I need to give them a big hug back.
I agree with Old RPM Daddy's mother. Looks like a good day for a sail.
