I am about to go play golf in nice 90f and 50% humidity, and I was remembering 1962 on the 4th working at a YMCA daycamp the temp was 104f and the humidity 100% and we were happy. But the Global Warming Myth is looking lamer and lamer as the temps cool down around us. The #1 item at auction in the lobbyists salon done by WAPO was the CAP AND TRADE humongous tax revenue stream set to be "invested" into the pocket of every crook in America and all over the world. Meanwhile silly Sarah Palin just plans to drill here and drill now and lower everybody's taxes. The silly beauty queen can only see Russia and common sense from so far away in Alaska. I bet she was not even thought worthy of an invite to DC for WAPO's scam of the century party being held like a Chicago speakeasy.
Ann, would you consider a special label for all your "at the such-and-such cafe, do such-and-such..." entries? They're very amusing, poetic, and witty. It would be cool to search on them all.
This will be a quiet Fourth for me. I'm recovering from knee surgery that took place a week and a half ago, and I'm still not to the point of driving yet, much less walking a really long way to see a fireworks display.
Still, it's great to finally be on the road to recovery (after waiting nine weeks between accident and surgery) and, since this afternoon, to be able to sit down with my leg at a slight angle instead of locked out, like it is when I'm walking.
I've missed a lot of the discourse the past week or so, but happy to be back in the vortex again.

Reflect yourself.

Happy 4th Everyone!
Happy 4th!!
Happy 4th of July, pond scum!
Starkweather Creek. I thought we might get some butterfly pics from Olbrich Gardens. It's really a magical place.
This comment I left yesterday at the Golden Reflection Café probably goes better here.
Auf des kleinen Teiches stiller

Wunderlich im Spiegelbilde.
Alles auf dem Kopfe stehend
In dem Pavillon aus grünem
Und aus weißem Porzellan;
Nothing for the 4th of July yet.
That's best left to Charles Ives.
Sorry I had to delete. The first post of this had a bad link.

Hey, they would make a great "coffee table" book, too. Your photography is book-worthy, and so is your insight and wit.

Everybody have a great Fourth!
Hey, Kev, you too! Great to see you're recovering. Er...should I say, "Break a leg?"
