Didn't the eco-loons on the left express sympathy for the pirates because Europeans had poisoned all the sea life off the coast of Somalia? Apparently the dolphins didn't get the memo.
Looks like the dolphins were off duty in the Gulf of Aden.
Somalia: Pirates Seize More ShipsPirates have captured four more ships and taken more than 60 crew members hostage in the Gulf of Aden in the last two days, following the death of three pirates in a standoff with the United States Navy.
I don't get that "dumping ruined their fishing" thing either. I mean, I can see that happening, what with Somalia being without any means of enforcing any sort of law in its territorial waters.
But it's much easier to believe that the fishermen see a million dollar payday with every low-decked boat that wades by.
It's outrageous that the Pentagon has somehow manipulated President Obama into this!
Clearly they've been engaged in nefarious dolphin-mind-control research, and now they are unleashing the poor, manipulated dolphins on the poor, Somalian eco-defenders!
I don't understand how these toxic waste/radio active waste dumping claims make any sense.
To get from Europe to Somalia you either have to go through the Suez canal or go all the way around Africa. Wouldn't dumping in the middle of the Atlantic be a lot easier?
Also, aren't the fishing claims and the dumping claims mutually exclusive?
dbp: "Also, aren't the fishing claims and the dumping claims mutually exclusive?"
Of course they are.
Big fishing operations are pulling massive amounts of fish out of areas where the locals fish to sustain their communities. (This isn't a new story, it's been reported for years.)
As to the dumping; what would WE do if shipping firms were dumping toxic waste, etc. off the shores of California or our Eastern Seaboard?
And again, before the usual suspects accuse me of somehow siding with the "pirates" - I could care less of about them, the ones who died deserved to die.
I just think the situation has to be resolved or this will go on and one and everybody loses.
-One thing that picture of Dolphins made me think about is the Gulf Coast of Florida' fishing fleet. The fishing fleet in Destin, Florida would gladly take a run at capturing the merchant ships and tankers coming in and out of the Mississippi from Baton Rouge at 3 million a ransome. That would be a Stimulus Plan like none other since Jean Lafitte's Plan 200 years ago. Remember the rules: no weapons allowed on the Ships running the gauntlet, and no raids allowed on the Destin Harbor Docks. Then Destin which calls itself "a quiet little drinking village ruined by fishing" will prosper again like a Chicago Acorn Executive.Only problem is that the Navy Seals training base is at Eglin AFB 10 miles away.

I am surprised he is not ranting, raging, and frothing at the mouth over the death of those poor, cute little teen age pirates. I will bet he can come up with a story of how those kids only had toy guns.

Oh, shoot. Now the Chinese have formed a military alliance with the bottlenose dolphins. We're hosed now for sure!

They did it on porpoise.
Not even dolphins can be everywhere.
This is obviously a false story as there wouldn't be any dolphins due to all the toxic nuclear waste that's being dumped there.

Pick yourself up a map, dipstick.
The oceans are really big.
But don't give up, it's even funnier every day.

Father Martin Fox,
I just couldn't read your comment without thinking of this

That pic looks chopped. Even it it was real, I doubt the context is what the Chinese claim it is.
I think Obama called to the dolphins with his magical healing aura. We don't need bullets, we have dolphins! Lightworker!
We don't need dolphins, we have seals.
SteveR-Most stellar post!!
