Meanwhile, speaking of reorientation, this is the occasional comment where I laud a Republican for having some class.
Being behind by 399 votes in the recount, Jim Tedisco conceded earlier today.
He could have done like Dino Rossi or Norm Coleman (and yes, like Al Gore) and lawyered up and dragged it out through the courts but he rejected some advice to do exactly that and instead he comes out of a very hard fought campaign with some integrity left.
Al Gore never ran again, Dino Rossi ran four years later in a rematch on an 'I wuz robbed' platform and lost big (no recount necessary) and Norm Coleman's career is effectively ended by now because he will be remembered primarily as a sore loser. Tedisco in contrast, conceded with class and probably gains something with the voters.
My experience is that if you lie down anyplace, your dog lies right next to you, though on a bed the dog prefers his head to your feet so as to keep watch for intruders.
Watch out unintentional paw pokes to the eye. Face direction management is a skill to be practiced.
'Round about now most Fridays is reorientation time. Not a good week for me, businesswise, but come Monday I'll be oriented and ready to go (no, I'm not flying to Japan).
News of the day: The Garden of Eden has been re-discovered by a Law Professor in search of a reoriented heritage in this good earth. The world rejoices at the coming of love to Eden again. But the snaky Tax Assessor is rumored to be re-assessing the FMV of Eden because of its new inhabitants now prove how prescious this place has now become.

Shifted positions...
Investigate?
Lucky Meade! More bellies to scratch.
You're really 58? That picture doesn't look like 58. Not even sure it looks like 38.

Lovely photos.

Eli -- Lie on your back. Instant facelift. (Not that Althouse needs any help looking youthful.)
The dog's thinking, man, I love this part!
Already I'm in love with this dog, but I'd love to know his name. Have I missed that in some thread somewhere?
o/~Some folks search hard,
Lookin' for something,
They could see so plain,
In that dog's tail thumping...~\o

Donna B: I'm guessing that's the-dog-previously-known-on-Althouse as Holly. Meade: Correct?
Is Holly a hunter?
You know, I think the Meades were annihilated by the Assyrians after they lay down with dogs.
Oh, wait, that was the Medes.
Silly me. Still, you're a grown woman, Ann. There's deportment to consider. Who do you think you are, Tonya Harding?
Here's another caption for the photo:
Two Bitches.
LOL
Just kidding. I kid because I love.
