Kittens, inspired by kittens....

Now, that was cute... wasn't it? Wasn't it?

  1. This is why I don't have kids. At least I can stop [at] a YT video....
  2. At first I was all "WTF?!" Then I chuckled. Then a creeping feeling of inexorable dread washed over me and I began to despair of the world and the future and I knew, in the core of my shivering, embattled soul, that the universe was cold and empty except for hideous, immense, eternal beings who do not notice our existence and will destroy us without a thought like gods of old, Ba'al, Chalmecatl and Wodan, who people tried to appease with human flesh. Then the video ended and I felt better. I think I'll go have a cupcake now. Mmmm... cupcakes.
  3. Cute. I laughed. Also, WTF is wrong with you people?

Very cute, and nicely done. She had very expressive voice.

But did that little girl have a tatoo on her left forearm?

(See final seconds of the video.)

Something tells me that this little girl will grow up to be some kind of lawyer, or teacher, or both. I wouldn't put it past her to also have a blog.

Um... my uncle was a commercial photographer back in the old days (around the time it looks like that book was published), working in advertising and calendars and stuff. He told me lots of stories about the tricks they'd use. One was that they used to stuff kittens and insert a skeletal structure of bendable wire. That's how they get them into all those cute poses like wearing aprons or swinging from swings. Hate to break that to you...

WTF, Awesome! You're saying the kittens are all dead?????

Sorry! Though it does tend to lend support to #2 above.

Annoying.

re: Awesome comments, I don't trust animal photographs to not use questionable methods to obtain results.

Where do all those 'adorable' animals come from?

What happens to all those 'adorable' animals once their usefulness is exhausted?

Animal explotation is a filthy business.

Cats may be gone soon. The plan for cats under the Great Obama Depression (GOD) Administration is uncertain. To save money, all life forms that eat must be state approved. How many votes do cats have? The GOD will issue regulations to save the people from hateful cat feeders who take money out of the GOD food budget for Illegal purposes. Cat food factories will switch over to make Elder Person Bars, and the Vets will be drafted into Elder Care Clinics under GOD regulations. Neighbors will be rewarded for turning in secret cat lovers when a meow is heard. Eating is a priviledge and not a right under GOD. At least dogs have a real purpose.

Screechy annoying voice that could cut glass.

I've been next to horrible brats like this in restaurants where the parents not only tolerate this horrible behaviour, they actually encourage it. "Shut up!!!"

How would you like to be in the next row on an airplane listening to this for hours? aaaaagh!

Oh, number 3 for sure. She was in a state of "flow"! Don't you remember when you could play in an uninhibited manner?

That said, I would never want to actually live with her.

How else do you expect her to hide her needle tracks?

I, for one, was charmed.

And appalled by Awesome's info. I did not want to know that.

#1, except I have children. But I wouldn't want THAT child. Mine aren't that screechy. Or that precociously cute in a staged way.

My question-- does this violate copyright? OR is her use of the pictures considered 'parady' and thus fair use?

I have 3 little girls. They can all ad-lib like that all day if given the chance.

Still, it is cute.

At least dogs have a real purpose.

My cat kills snakes, gophers, mice and ground squirrels plus the occasional tweety bird. Very useful.

And....unlike a dog who leaves giant steaming turd piles all over the yard, when she poops outside she at least tidely covers it up in a big sand pile we have leftover from a construction project. She also doesn't dig up my garden and track mud into the house.

Just exactly what is the purpose of THIS :-D

And one wonders why animals have psychotic breaks?

DBQ... I love cats too,and you are correct that cats are easier to keep. The wife recently purchased a new Sign hung in the kitchen the kitchen that says,"Women and cats do exactly as they please, and Men and dogs should just get used to the idea". So me and the Cocker Spaniel have to stick together politically.

Saw this first a couple times this last weekend on The Soup on E! Entertainment TV. The show can be quite humorous as it pans TV, and esp. reality shows.

Irritating little bitch.

Yes! Also very useful at infecting people with T. gondii!

Cats also lack all that annoying affection, loyalty and intelligence that you get from a pet dog!

Awesome may be right, but note that the average lolcat picture is most certainly not a stuffed-and-mounted dead cat.

Not all of 'em. My two cats are like puppies. Cooper waits at the door for my husband to come home each evening. Alice will follow you from room to room just to be around you. She's the most affectionate cat I've ever known or heard of, but we think she has some brain damage. She's deaf and has no apparent sense of smell, so we're not sure she's all there, IYKWIM. But she sure is a sweetie.

As for the video: Little girl voices are alarmingly shrill, aren't they? Nails on a chalkboard, unless you're living with one, in which case you're innoculated against the effect. It surprises me just how many octaves my daughter's voice has dropped over the years -- I'm always caught off guard when we watch home videos of her toddlerhood. (ITA that most kids can riff this way off books that they read often. While entertaining, it wasn't exceptional.)
