Voices that died.

A music collage.

Oh damn. That reminds me that I forgot to watch the CBS Sunday Morning show this morning where they probably went through the people that died this year. Always one of the best as they take their time and add interesting people you've never heard of.

I had a death-related dream last night. Then after the discussion I went outside to find my car covered with flyers and adverts glued to my car whereupon I flew into a rage. Then woke up angry, which is a little bit weird because I drive a truck.

But I choose not to dwell on these unhappy things, about the dark and cold of December days, grave yards, and deaths. Because today is my older brother's birthday. I sent him this card, he's and admirer of poorly made puns, addressed it directly to him, but his wife took it to be a Christmas card for the both of them, apparently they open each other's mail and share all things. I have always maintained it was a drag for my brother's birthday to be so close to Christmas, but I never imagined his own wife would usurp his card! It wasn't exactly fun setting her straight. Next time I'll have to actually write something on the card so specific it will not be confused.

I'm kind of bummed out that muscians of my generation are dying real deaths instead of self indulgent, rocknroll deaths. When you're young death is kind of poetic. When you're older it's just scary.....Chip Ahoy: You are probably the greatest pop-up card artist of your generation. Some guy can hit a few catchy chords and he dies beloved by millions with millions in the bank. Chip will probably die in obscurity with his great works stored in some forgotten trunk in some dusty attic. Where's the justice?

Far away across the field
The tolling of the iron bell
Calls the faithful to their knees
To hear the softly spoken magic spells.

Rest in peace, Richard Wright.

The difference between Heaven and Earth is that in Heaven Bo Diddley, Pink Floyd, The Dave Clark Five and Yma Sumac can all be on the same tune...and it would be cool. Here it's a strain to keep members of Pink Floyd from disemboweling each other on stage....

He's also an excellent cook. Or at least he takes really good photos of food, and posts them with very amusing comments.

You really can't dust for vomit.

Was the NYT injecting a bit of Spinal Tap humor by inserting a laundry list that is indicative of a disproportionate number of deceased former drummers?

Marty: What happened to Stumpy Joe?

Derek: Well, uh, it's not a very pleasant story..but, uh,

David: He's passed on.

Derek: he died. uh...he choked on..the ac- the official explanation was he choked on vomit.

Nigel: It was actually, was actually someone else's vomit. It's not....

David: It's ugly.

Nigel: You know. There's no real....

Derek: You know they can't prove whose vomit it was...they don't have the facilities at Scotland Yard....

David: You can't print, there's no way to print a spectra-photograph

Nigel: You can't really dust for vomit.

Wow, nice to see the NYT give Eddy Arnold a second and a half.

I know, right? Everyone should have been given equal time in the collage. That's how the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences does it.

But this is coming from the newspaper that trashed "It's A Wonderful Life" this year.

And, Odetta died?! I loved Odetta! I heard nothing about that.
