Is hearing humor in tone of voice a lost art... among lefty bloggers?
And I remember the conference call McCain did with some of us bloggers on when he said:
"Listen, I'll never forget you. You were the only guys who would listen to me for a couple of months. Do you think I'd ever forget you?"He said that spontaneously and sincerely after someone thanked him for continuing to do the phone calls with bloggers.

By the way, I've apparently been crossed off the list of McCain's preferred bloggers. Quite aside from anything like conference calls, I don't even get email from the campaign anymore. I used to get several emails a day (mainly pointing me toward favorable news stories and blog posts). And it's not as though the Obama campaign sends me anything. Have they all heard of my vow of cruel neutrality? I still like to get tips about bloggable things.

Lefties have no sense of humor. It's especially noticeable around here.
Haha!

McCain hasn't done a blogger conference call for several weeks.
The only humor I detect on the Left is the nasty, snarky and even vicious sort. They remind me of high schoolers, in many ways.

I came really close to posting that quote in the comments over there...but then I figured, ehh, why do that? It would just attract a whole bunch of snarky vermin over here and spoil a perfectly good Sunday.
And I'm sure that my fellow Dave Barry fans would agree that "Snarky Vermin" would be a good name for a rock band.
(But down here in Dallas, I am a big fan of an actual jazz-funk band called Snarky Puppy.)
John Amato said: I’m giddy with the thought that [John McCain] isn’t very fond of me.
I hope he won’t get so downhearted he needs a therapeutic abortion when it finally dawns on Mr. Amato that John McCain doesn’t even know he exists.
There's no trouble getting email from Hillary and anybody she's sold her list to.
I read a lefty retort that cracked me up. Ad hominem of course and added zero to the post but it was funny as hell. On Roger Kimball's July 4th post, a commenter says that Huntington, cited heavily in the post, has perceptions that are amazing. Then another commenter remarks, "Yes, Huntingon's ideas do indeed amaze–in the way that people living in houses build of rusting hubcaps amaze. Ha ha ha ha ha. See? Now that there is funny. It fails utterly to add anything but it is funny. In that dark, bleak, misanthropic way that characterizes.
What amazes me, distresses actually, it keeps me home because I invariably meet these people then get all sad from having met them, is they think themselves terribly clever and funny by running into the ground neologisms that suffer from overuse at birth. Do they really consider this original and clever? They say it like fifteen times over there on crooksandliars.

Are you suggesting John Amato is carrying McCain's lovechild?
