The composition of a summer reading list.

Anna Williams thinks the creation of the list is an art in itself.

Most people I know have reading *piles*. They have books acquired that live in piles of various heights and structural integrity about the house. The primary pile is usually next to the bed.

The idea of composing a list and then sticking to it is outside of my cultural milieu.

Creating a list certainly doesn't bother me, I'm currently working through a list of American classics. I read the article and I just boggle at the time available to the author. I'm sincerely jealous.

Synova expresses perfect understanding when she says "the primary pile".

Indeed. Indeed.
