"These accusations that Bill Clinton is a racist I think is just wrong. I just don’t agree with it."
Said President Bush today. What's so funny about that is: It's exactly the way the Clinton campaign would waft an insinuation.

Who know what a racist is these days.
It attaches only to narratives.
An actual racist would be fairly benign by comparison.
Conversely, however, it's not obvious what Bush is denying, except perhaps that he rejects whatever narrative has been offered.
It's time for broad parody of all this.
There is no longer a singular definition of a racist. A racist is anyone who someone else calls one based upon a certain action or actions.
I do not beleive Bubba is a racist. I do beleive he will pimp and pander to racial prejudice to get Hillary elected. He will do and say anything to assure that the first Black president does not get elected before the "only" so called qualified first female- his wife.
Obama played Bill big time and has reduced Hillary to using tears to get votes.
He just may be slicker than Willie...
You're a racist, I'm a racist, all God's children are racists.
The UN is racist, Clinton is a racist, the word "niggardly" is racist - and should not be spoken in polite society, and so is the phrase "black sheep".
Are you suggesting that Dubya just deliberately misoverestimated Bill Clinton?
These accusations is wrong!!
But is are children learning?!
And I thought Dan Qualye's command of the English language was pathetic.
For Bubba to use race as a tool by no means makes him a racist. He views everyone through the same lens, we are all tools and he is Narcissus. Some tools, however, are power tools.
What's so funny about that is: It's exactly the way the Clinton campaign would waft an insinuation.
Clearly the Clintons just aren't as bright as you on how to make a proper racial accusation.
I hate you, you hate me, now let’s all hate Hillary…
It's only racism if it uses secret code words.
The thought of getting back to the White House had Bill Clinton more motivated and energetic than since he was Prez.
The sinking of Hillary's candidacy may kill him more than it kills her.

“I know him well,” Mr. Bush said. “I know his convictions. I know the principles that drive him. And no doubt in my mind he is a true conservative.”
Bush must think he is one, too. Not exactly reassuring.
This article contains the greatest quote yet on the running-on-empty, complete lack of substance Obama campaign. Apparently his handlers believe that they can continually "shuck and jive" the American public to sleep (Huggy Bear!) with sound bites and phrases that avoid anything close to a solution:
He also criticized Mr. Obama’s foreign policy positions, saying, “I certainly don’t know what he believes in.” That brought a retort from the Obama campaign, whose spokesman, Bill Burton, said Mr. Obama “doesn’t need any foreign policy advice from the architect of the worst foreign policy decision in a generation.”
???? WT* kind of substantive answer is that? What does Obama believe - anyone? ANYONE? Kum ba yah? What is laughable is that if you ask two different Obama toadies the same question, you will undoubtedly get two different answers! Don't you just feel safer?
Bill Burton obviously thinks he's Homey the Clown.
Just wait for the General Election to begin. When the Karl Rove clones get hold of Obama - he's toast. Thank God.
Mr. Obama “doesn’t need any foreign policy advice from the architect of the worst foreign policy decision in a generation.”
Its a bit premature to suggest that, esp when Iraq is stumbling toward Democracy and AQs popularity is crumbling in the muslim world due to word spreading from the Iraqi street. The cascade effect is just beginning.
Contrary to the views of most counterterrorism experts and most Democrats, the war against Islamic extremism has probably seen a pivotal victory in Iraq. Unlike 9/11 or the bombings in Madrid and London, the Second Iraq War, with its ferocious Muslim-on-Muslim violence, has actually provoked some deep reflection about holy war among the faithful in the Middle East. Although the situation could still unravel and Al Qaeda in Mesopotamia could get a new lease on life, the fight against that organization, and the Sunnis' second thoughts about their zeal against the Shia, have shaken Arabs' easy characterization of this war as a war against American occupation.
Although Senators Obama, Hillary Clinton, and Joseph Biden would rather burn in oil than give George Bush credit for his insistence on linking the war in Iraq to the battle against Islamic extremism, the president has damaged al Qaeda--and al Qaeda has damaged itself--more in Mesopotamia than on any other battlefield. Al Qaeda will live on in the forbidding mountains of Afghanistan and Pakistan, and from there it may do horrendous harm to the United States and its European allies. But if al Qaeda is ever to evanesce, it will be because its jihadism lost its ethical appeal in the Arab heartland where it was born. American and Pakistani paramilitary successes against al Qaeda will never be sufficient to demonstrate the organization's evil to Muslims worldwide. Indeed, Pakistan's ineffectual attempts to assert control over tribal border areas have been counterproductive, giving bin Laden a fillip of hope at a time when his jihad is facing decided difficulty in Iraq.
Its a long read, but the short version is that Obama is an idiot on all things re foreign policy. Thats why he's limited to talking about etheral Hope [tm] and Change [tm].
Bill Clinton is not a racist.Hes a model father and a good husband. He have color persons working in their home.

And:
The al Qaeda emir also stated that:
“The Islamic State of Iraq [al-Qaeda] is faced with an extraordinary crisis, especially in al-Anbar province. Al-Qaeda’s expulsion from Anbar created weakness and psychological defeat. This also created panic, fear and the unwillingness to fight.
“The morale of the fighters went down and they wanted to be transferred to administrative positions rather than be fighters. There was a total collapse in the security structure of the organization.”
But don't worry Al Queda & Iran - Hope [tm] and Change [tm] is on the way. Saint Obama will sit down with you for crumpets & tea and talk about how to resolve our differences...
It is odd that Bush brought this up for no reason and then offered Obama an opportunity to hit him.
Can it possibly help Clinton to receive even slight approbation from W?
It is odd that Bush brought this up for no reason and then offered Obama an opportunity to hit him.
Bush stated an entirely reasonable, rational point - literally tens of millions of Americans would like to know a little bit more of Obama's actual belief's.Can Obama give a direct answer?
Again, as Shelby Steele pointed out in his book, A Bound Man: Why We Are Excited About Obama and Why He Can't Win, Obama will be admired by all, but cannot not win. He is a "bargainer": he has an implicit agreement with majority white America to not hold racism against them in exchange for it not holding his being black against him.
He has yet to discuss openly any real policies that he will implement (his website for example doesn't count as "openly" - who really goes there to check it out except sycophants?).
If he gets the nomination, he will be called out on issues, and he will then have 2 choices:
- hide who he really is behind the "lofty rhetoric", which will not counter charges of "no there, there", or
- engage in actual policy discussions, which will spell "old liberal"
Either way, when any Karl Rove clone gets a shot at him, he's toast.
It is odd that Bush brought this up for no reason
Obama would rollback the Bush doctrine by abandoning Iraq, erasing all the gains of the last 6 years. Thats reason enough.
and then offered Obama an opportunity to hit him.
Nah. Bush's numbers have bottomed out and he's only got 11 months left. He's immune to any attacks from Obama.
Dear Barack,
If you let me manage your money, I can quadruple your wealth in 6 months [not going to give you details or explain how though]. Deal?
Anyone? If not, why not? I spent my youth playing on Wall Street.
Okay, I'm stupid.
What is it that Clinton (either one) said that was so bad? The only things I could find in google were normal spin seasoned with a dash of realpolitik.
If people (and Obama's campaign) can't handle that, how are they going to deal with the republicans?
Face it, no one does dirty campaigning as well as they do.
I know I'm a contrarian by nature (and not a joiner and immune to dubious charms of youthful idealism) but the whole Obama-mentum thing kind of creeps me out.
I'm reminded of a big party on a bus headed over a cliff.
Obama's campaign will use the race card all the way to the convention but he should be careful. Once you pull it out of the deck it's hard to get it shuffled.
Is Barack Slicker than Willie?
That's the problem with being a master. Eventually a student comes along and bites your ass.
Again, as Shelby Steele pointed out, Obama will be admired by all, but cannot not win. He is a "bargainer": he has an implicit agreement with majority white America to not hold racism against them in exchange for it not holding his being black against him.
And this is a problem how? As a "bargainer", Obama joins Michael Jordan and Tiger Woods as black superstars. White CEOs line up to get these men's autographs. Those who embrace Steele's alternative end up pigeonholed as impotent identity politicians like Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton.
Obama would rollback the Bush doctrine by abandoning Iraq, erasing all the gains of the last 6 years.
You mean 4,000 American dead would spring back to life? And we wouldn't have to see Cindy Sheehan on TV any more. Good deal.
If Bush is the loser in Iraq, what is Saddam? Does anyone think AQ would consider Obama a peacmaker and adjust their tactics accordingly?
