If you want "American Idol" blogging on the girls' turn last night....
... go back to this old post and scroll way down to Trooper York's comments on each of the singers. Personally, I hated everything in last night's show and could barely tolerate the show passing through my brain once. I'm not giving it the extra time it would take to write about it. Man, I hate that kind of singing.

Busted.
Yeah. It's gettin' so a guy can't hijack an old thread anymore....
Did you see the gore and violence on CBS last night at 9? Idiotic story line, wanton sex, foul language, no character development, bad acting. I was so happy when the program ended.
She is a harsh blog-mistress, fair yet harsh.
The song selection/limited song lists/themes have made the last few rounds really crappy. Maybe if we could see them sing what they want to sing and consider themselves good at, we might have something.
But I must admit the Emma Peel jumpsuit with the thigh boots with the stilleto heel is a good outfit for a blog diva. You have to take the good with the bad.
Welcome back to music, Althouse!
I think it's time for AI to switch to an acting competition. Let the stars act out scenes from classic movies and plays. They could also improvise one week, do a web video the next. Try out all the different mediums. Even classic commercials. Who will be the next Mr. Whipple? Find out next week!
Might be kinda crazy but at least: No more bad music!

Available at Troopers Emporium. All sizes available. XXL men sizes extra.
Completely agree. I was totally bored last night. The girls sucked. I could barely watch them.
Thank God for Project Runway but I will miss Chris.
This is hilarious, Project Hilary from the San Francisco Chronicle:

It was on Sully's blog.
Hagee endorses McCain.
McCain stands right there with him, side by side, and accepts his endorsement.
McCain standing side-by-side with Hagee is less offensive, I'm told, than Obama saying of Farrakhan, "I have been very clear in my denunciation of Minister Farrakhan's anti-Semitic comments. I think that they are unacceptable and reprehensible."
Is there a huge double standard here? When will we get a 5000 word post about McCain nefarios embrace of a hatemonger? When will Russert grill McCain about this?
Never.
Most of the bloggers who attacked Obama for condemning-Farrakhan-not-aggressively-enough will say NOTHING (not one word) about McCain's embrace of that pig of a man, John Hagee.
Because we are talking about important things on this thread: American Idol and Project Runway. You have three other open threads discussing this politcal tripe with all the uber-nerd comments you could want. Please cease and desist raining on our little bit of non-political fun. Thank you.

Fair enough. I apologize for the intrusion. Just wanted to post where someone might see it.
By the way, cool new photo professor. Very Ellen Barkinish.
Thank you Verso. You seem like a very nice guy. Although we don't agree about anything political, I really appreciate your courtesy in your comments. You are ok in my book.
For a commie. LOL!

Thanks, and I will say I enjoy your posts as well.
Plus you can comment on American Idol. After all one of the main competitors is named Castro. It gives you a rooting interest.

Hardee har har. I'll have you know I will be logging into work momentarily and getting some things done before watching Lost at 9:00 pm ET.
How come Althouse doesn't blog Lost? It would be soooo much more interesting than this American Idol stuff!
Well she has a short attention span and can't follow serial drama. Plus I think she hates polar bears. Or AL Gore. Or both.
Hey I just realized that the post referred to by the professor cuts off halfway through and you miss most of the comments from yesterday unless you read it through the "insert" comment page.
Crap. I was going for the record for the most useless posts on one thread. Now Lucky still holds the record.
I watched for the first time this season and thought it was some of the worst singing I've ever heard.
And what is the deal - they're all skinny little 17-19 year old twits. Are you telling me there were no fuller figured 20-something women out there who could do as well if not better than these birds?
Awful, awful awful.
They call beautiful full figured women who can really sing: backup
singers. Didn't you see Dreamgirls dude.
The fun is in the competition and the snark. It good clean all american fun.

Absolutely. But first she'd have to catch up on previous seasons. Somone who just started watching now would never figure out what the hell is going on. Actually, I'm not sure the writers know what's going on anymore.

This is why intelligent people have avoided this show from Day One. I'm amazed you have not.
I can't believe that a comment section blows up after 216 comments. Whats up with that.
...and I notice it only displays the 1st 200 comments. Very odd.
So who got the boot? I've been outside playing in the snow. Guess I'll go look. Please let it be Jason with the kid.
Oh crap. Amanda Oversinger (love that nickname, Trooper) lives to torture us again.
I don't know whats up with the comment section. I wanted to post the entire season on one thread.I thought I saw posts with a lot more comments displayed but I guess I was wrong.
At lease we got rid of Jason with the Damien demon child in the audience. I did sprinkle the set with holy water, just in case. The Alexandrea was sent off for her poor song choice. She didn't have a tribe backing her up. She should have went the young kid route but there were younger kids so that was closed. She had a good voice but seemed strangely overconfident.
Then one of the interchangeable blondes. I can't focus on which one she was except that she wasn't the annoying hippie horse faced Carly Simon singing twat. Good riddance. Finally the Axel Rose douchebag guy is out. As you know he went on tour with Britney. Face it dude, you got beat out by K-fred
man, you are a loser.
Maybe we can hook onto this thread and beat it into the ground until the season is over.
I watched it this week for the first time this season and there were not really any singers I liked. Kind of depressing... I can usually find somebody who can hold my interest. I might hold off watching it until the final 12.
Well knoxwhirled, there are few people who seem fun. Ramiele Maulbay the pocker venus has a really big voice and can really bring it.
Syesh Mercado also has a big voice and a sultry and sexy attitude and is an actress so she is real good at being a phony, which is a prime resiqute to win.
Michael Johns is a soul singing good lookin' white dude for the ladies.
David Archeleta is the tweeners fave and is the one to beat so far.
I think that's the final four.
