Why does teaching in New York put me here today in Madison?

Because it's Rosh Hashanah for everybody!

So alternate side of the street parking is suspended. That's what the radio stations were always saying when I listened in NJ. I have no idea what it is, other than that it's a Jewish tradition.

No wonder you were on hold with the airlines....it's Rush-a-home-a
...have a great holiday.

I'm celebrating with hardcore Madison indie coffeehouse cappucino and free WiFi.

My Half Price Books calendar tells me Ramadan began at sunset last night, too. But school's in session in Madison, right?

So what's the feel of Madison after time in a totally different place? Anything stand out? Anything feel especially new even though it's old?

One word : telecommuting. My workplace is 500 miles away, and I've never been there.

The official company phone directory status is ``home office.''

Good thing you split for Madison...I thought I saw Mort standing outside your apartment holding a Boom Box playing Peter Gabriel songs...but I might have been mistaken.

Indie coffeehouses are great. We have one here, that we go to while visiting the Farmers Market on the weekend.

No WiFi though.

Ann, what do you think about Hillary Clinton having Sandy Berger involved in her campaign?

Never explain pilgrim, it’s a sign of weakness.

Madison must feel different as I'm not there today.

"Notice how she multiplied her usual blog output just by being home?"

Better coffee!

"I think I prefer Madison Althouse to Brooklyn Althouse [they could be her nieces]."

Yeah, both my cities are trendy girl's names (not used in the actual cities, though).

Ann try Damico's coffee on Court and Degraw to buy coffee beans...although it is not a Wifi joint...but let me very strongly recommend Manhattan Special Expresso coffee soda...it's the best you will ever have and beats the hell out of any frappacino bullshit....trust me if you like coffee...you will love Manhattan special

Sorry, I don't buy coffee beans. I go out for coffee. And I want free WiFi and some ambience.

"Quick, somebody call an ambience."

I thought that was the brand name for a sleeping pill...why would you go to a coffee shop to wash down one with a cup of joe.
