"Clearly Sen. Craig is watching TV and making decisions based upon what he sees."

Says "a top Senate GOP aide."
"We want to make sure that he understands that we think he’s resigned. There is no question that our leadership wants him to stand by that decision."
Larry Craig's life is all about the ambiguous, deniable signals. Get used to it!

Craig must resign. His thoughts of unresigning is just another example of how politicians lose touch with real life after being in office for so many years.

Craig is another example of why we need term limits.

Why is it that the Democrats make all of their bad behaving politicians leaders (i.e., Kennedy, Robert Byrd, Gerry Studds, Barney Frank, etc..) and Republicans end up out of office?

sloan, maybe you should ask Senator Vitter that question

And just to add: The headline on the linked story is just hysterical.

MadisonMan's absolutely right.

"Craig wide legal stance leaves wiggle room."

Gives me the willies.
Oops.

Good point. Odd how he prefers to signal with his feet and hands and yet doesn't recognize the kick in the rear and finger the GOP is giving him just now.

What bad thing did Vitter do? Be specific, name victims and court cases.

I will. Maybe he should resign along with Ted Kennedy, Patrick Kennedy, Byrd, Frank, etc...

Geez, are this old queen's 15 minutes almost up yet? This story, and this Senator, are getting a little tiresome.

I will note that now aides claim that Senator Craig can apparently read the writing on the (toilet cubicle?) wall and actually is resigning.

I laughed out loud at that. It has to be the funniest (and most apt) single sentence you've ever written on this blog.

Are you really suggesting that a politician has pulled his head out of his ass long enough to see which way the political wind is blowing and acted accordingly?

Thanks hd.

Actually, I think if Craig came out and said he would resign when Ted Kennedy, Patrick Kennedy, Barney Frank etc.. resign. That would make the media reinvestigate those stories and compare and contrast. It would make for an interesting debate.

So, Craig is sliding his foot under the stall of resignation?

I think this is going to the next hot reality show...

Craig must resign just because you said so. I say he shouldn't, mustn't be forced out of office. I hate to tell you that bathroom sexual encounters fit into the definition of "real life." If I were Craig, I'd say, "Screw yourselves! Hypocrites all of you!" I'd let the shit fly, to keep the bathroom metaphor going! Until the day Ted Kennedy resigns, I'm staying put on my toilet seat, er, I mean Senate seat. Go fly a kite, or open my fly! Your choice!

I agree with you Trumpit. Craig should Challenge the Kennedys, Franks, etc to resign as well.

Yo Sloan....

I know you can't just stick to a subject without the "ya but..." answer but the reason the others stay in office is they don't lie to their constiuents. If you ask Barney Frank if he is gay he will readily admit it. If you ask Kennedy if he has an alcohol problem or has a history of womanizing he can't and won't deny it. Gerry Studds came clean and his district re-elected him over and over.

Senator Craig lied through his teeth, when caught and confronted, he continued to lie. No one cares if he is gay or for that matter likes sex with dogs. I don't and most intelligent people just don't care. Intelligent people do care about liars though and this flipflopping of resign, not resign, perhaps resign, i'm innocent, i plead guilty, i didn't do a thing, is just bullshit.

But then again you are bullshit.

Lied about what?

Craig didn't lie about anything. He's just a normal married straight man who happens to enjoy anonymous rest room sex.

Oh, and Michael Weiner (Savage) is not really right-wing; he just plays one on the radio. He's an old Berkeley liberal who realized that Rush Limbaugh was making a buttload of money, and figured he could grab his share. He enjoys seeing how far over the top he can go.

hdhouse said Craig "lied through his teeth."

What were those lies?
