"If the truth doesn’t set you free, maybe being a crazy bastard will."

"The American psycho meets the German kook."

UPDATE: The movie is "Rescue Dawn," directed by Werner Herzog. I talk about it a bit in this new vlog.

Surprisingly creepy, that youtube video. Huh.

Hey, Maxine! Some of us REFUSE to cut and paste a link.

You'll get all the value under the curve if you do it this way:

*a href=http://maxinesplace.blogspot.com/>Maxine's Place*/a>

Just replace "*" with "<".

Love, Bissage

I think Maxine has been told that before.

I think it's part of her shtick that she doesn't do it.

My loss, I guess. Oh, well.

The best part of the video at Maxine's link is her comments underneath. What are you, an interior decorator?

What follows must be read out loud, in the style of William Shatner, for full effect:

Gahrie’s . . . comment . . . tempting.

Must . . . not . . .weaken.

Must . . . resist . . . temptation.

Must . . . not . . . cut . . . and . . . paste . . . Maxine's . . . link.

Y . . . e . . . e . . . a . . . r . . . r . . . r . . . r . . . g . . . . h . . . !

Oh is that how it's done? I had know idea. I really need help with links. I've been begging for years for someone to teach me html language.

I'll try.

Yes, that video----ineffectual, lazy mother who couldn't care less. Wealthy show-biz father--away from home. Daughter relatively normal , 'blue' room notwithstanding.

The typical family of today.

Oh, Maxine! I'm so glad.

And I'm so sorry we quarreled.

Please, forgive me.

Love, Bissage!

(You've made me so very happy.)

Really!

I'm with Bissage.  Cutting and pasting links is so 90's.

I know, I know, it's Maxine's thing, but....

If you can't deal with all that "href" garbage, there is a pretty cool extension for Firefox, known as ScribeFire (formerly "Performancing"), that does it for you.  No more keeping track of right and left carets, no more groping for the "=" sign.

No, all you do is select the text you want to make into a live link, copy and paste the URL into the handy drop window, click "OK," and voilá, you've got a live link.  You do have to remember to paste the HTML version of your comment into the comment window, but you can easily click between a plain text and HTML version of the emanations of your fevered brain.

ScribeFire has its problems, but it's a whole lot better than wrangling spaghetti-like URL's.

Plus, nothing says "loser" like an un-linked URL.  You just know the person lives in a trailer, has dial-up, and is using an 8-year-old Windows 98 box for a computer.
