Meade--Interesting site. As a woodwind instrument maker, I think pruning boxwood in any way other than to encourage the largest, straightest possible trunk is a crime ;-)

Of course! The Boehm flute -- The Standard.
My great grandfather was a plantsman. Perhaps he grew straight trunked Boxwood for your great grandfather.

I like that they have different brick patterns at the Centennial Gardens, and they identify each pattern by name.
