They use lists to communicate. However you do it, communication is the key to successful marriage, especially communication that encourages you to think about the wants and needs of your spouse.
Reader_iam: Some people really enjoy telling others how to run their lives. They also enjoy defining what it is exactly that makes a good marriage (and ridiculing anything that does not appeal to them). These people lead such perfect lives of unremitting wedded bliss that they feel it is their moral obligation (and right) to render such public judgments with abandon.
Personally, I'm kinda superstitious. The moment I say something is working for me, it's bound to breakdown. I'd elaborate, except I've got to go wash my car.

Perfunctory to-do-list sex. I don't remember Alex Comfort indexing that one. Sounds about as hot as sex with 72 virgins accompanied by their mothers.

I know people for whom this approach works. For others, it wouldn't.
However people manage to say married (who want to stay married, of course), more power to them.
