Radio morning.
I've just finished the "Week In Review" show on Wisconsin Public Radio, which you should be able to stream here sometime soon if not already. Now, I'm passing half an hour, sitting in a café and chewing my way through a glass of orange juice before going back to the radio station to do a Milwaukee Public Radio show called "Lake Effect." So I'll be WUWM 89.7 at 10. [NOTE: Recorded for broadcast next week.] We'll be talking about blogging and related things. I'm recording a Bloggingheads.tv show in the early afternoon too, so I may not talk again until Monday. Or will that statement cue demands for a podcast? You know, I want to do a podcast!

Is it possible for one to tumble into one's own vortex?
Since you don't often have open threads, I just wanted to bring up two issues you may wish to blog about, or not. I don't mean to threadjack, I think these issues are of interest to you and your readers, and just wish to remind you of them.
A few weeks ago, Simon (I think) brought up an interesting question: with the Dems in control for about four weeks, how come they haven't repealed don't ask don't tell? Similarly, you were pretty hard a month or two back about the Dems and the AMT.
I think those are both interesting issues that Dems should be held to account on.
Can you update us as to what is happening?
I believe mac users will be able to stream the Milwaukee show here.
Direct link if that one doesn't work:

I'm finally settled in to a new office after the chaos I noted yesterday. I didn't get to listen to the cardin show earlier because of the move, so Milwaukee is a lovely way to get a rain check. :)
Reality Check - that was me, yes - although I'd qualify the comment by noting that I don't ask that they repeal it, only that they try. Bring a bill to the floor, make a serious effort to pass it - that's enough for me to take them seriously, even if Bush ultimately vetoes it.
Disclaimer: This comment expresses no view on the merits of don't ask don't tell, or whether it should continue in force.
Ruth Anne: ouch! No, not freudian at all, just a typo... Sorry.
I've been waiting for a podcast about the meeting we had in New York weeks back. I want to hear how wonderful we all were! Too wonderful for words it seems!
Since RealityCheck's kind of converted this into a coffeehouse thread already, let me add this: hold onto your hats, folks.
Topical thoughts on the DC Circuit's Second Amendment ruling, perhaps.
In view of the comment in another thread about preferring punk to prog, an explanation of how Pretty Vacant is better than Heart of the Sunrise. ;)
I actually tried my hand at a podcast a few months back - it's not as easy as Ann makes it sound at all. I have the MP3 (can't remember the topics - opus dei was one of them) filed away for a rainy day. ;)
I would like a podcast, but won't demand one.
Since we're making requests (whether or not you're taking them), I'd like a podcast where you get mean about the stupid people attacking you for not defending the poor, victimized Yalies.
In light of Madison's superior walkability, I think you should make a podcast while you're out walking around the neighborhood.
(Note that I don't even know if this is feasible).
I forgot about the radio show until after is was over, but enjoyed the streaming rebroadcast. Kinda hard to listen closely while "working", but it seemed like a reasonably civil discussion (except for maybe one caller audibly grinding his ax).
(Note: the blurb "Hear what the left and the right have to say about the week's big issues on Joy Cardin's Week in Review" on the Wisconsin Peoples Radio website does NOT prove that Professor Althouse is only pretending to not be a right-wing lunatic. I think some of Lueder's gratuitous party-line throwaway comments establish his bona-fides on the left, however. Not that he isn't a Journalist and seemingly an intelligent, cultured fellow anyhow.)
As to podcasty goodness, I get enough discussion of TV shows I don't watch already on the radio, and print media, thank you, but speaking of music and/or dancing about architecture are both okay with me... Campus stuff, Madison kulture, art, travel, politics, looking out the window sipping a glass of red wine, it's all good.

I'll not note that the left and the right may not refer to none of the callers that call in.
This is off topic - way off topic - but I don't know where else to write this.
If you are able, try to catch a replay of the Washington Journal show with Brian Lamb on C-SPAN that aired on Friday March 9 with guest Pamela Hess, a UPI reporter. She talks about what she saw in Iraq. What she says is beautiful and amazing.
Actually, this is not that off-topic. Althouse is a smart chick who does media gigs, and this Pamela Hess is a smart chick who does media gigs, too. So actually, it is right on topic!
