A year in the life of the blog.

This is a New Year's Eve eve tradition -- see? I did it last year -- to select one blog post from each month. What is the basis for the selection? Oh, it's just the post I like the most, the one that represents what I consider to be the essence of what I'm trying to do here. It will take me a while to make the choices, so I'll start with the months followed by blank spaces.

January: When a judge writes a memoir.

February: Mysteries of the Althouse house.

March: Simulblogging the Oscars.

April: Live-blogging the Bloggership conference!

May: "We're emenies on account of we both loves Olive Oyl."

June: Blind item.

July: Two lawprofs, vlogging.

August: Arches.

September: Yes, it was a tad ridiculous to pay $8 million for it...

October: Think. Respect....

November: What happened last night?

December: That conversation about a whole lot of blood.

Ah, yes. The Althouse house. The house you had to put on the market in order to motivate yourself to clean.

How does it look today? Are we still living light in the loafers? Okay, that's not the right metaphor at all really. But have you re-cluttered? Done lots of shopping in '06?

No Chuck, it sure isn't the right metaphor, as you and I well know. ;-) But it rated a definite laugh (and the seemingly obligatory second thought these days, "Wonder how many people will be offended?")

BTW, I'm interested in your question as well.

Another good year of blogging, Ann. I enjoy checking out what you have to say each day.

I clicked out of "Red Tide" so fast I sprained my wrist, flipped out of my chair, and knocked all the pizza boxes off my BowFlex.

Well, my favorite from this list is probably Ann & Tonya vblogging, although "Think. Respect" (but most of all inform) is such an exceedingly close second that it probably depends entirely on my mood at the time which is first.

Maybe there's a post in letting the different avatars discuss the past year! With word balloons!

Maybe this is the correct post to comment that I think I'll stop reading now. The entire blog. For a while.
Not sure what the tipping point was but the whole cringe inducing Libertarian faux dustup was sooooo annoying. And I think Libertarians are stupid. All of them. Without exception. But they really got the better of Althouse

But someone needs to call Althouse out on this tired trick of coming just short of an accusation and then wondering why the subject was led to believe such an accusation was made. I'm no lawyer but I think that's passive aggression.

Now every other post is entitled Diva something or another like Althouse is craving the extra attention. And then-there is-am I completely missing something here or was she sympathetic for Sadaam? Wow. Talk about a loss of perspective. I haven't felt this disappointed in someone since right before I stopped reading Andrew SUllivan.
