"It sounded like the mountain exploded, and the whole thing crumbled."

In the Philippines, 1,500 persons are buried under 30 feet of mud too soft for heavy digging equipment: "Rescue workers dug with shovels for signs of survivors, and put a child on a stretcher, with little more than the girl's eyes showing through a covering of mud."

Extraordinarily sad. God bless 'em.

Although, I admit when I first heard about a catastrophe in the East, I thought, not Indonesia again.

Indonesia must be the most cursed land on earth.

Cheers,
Victoria

The tragedy happened in the Philippines though, not Indonesia.

My awkward syntax made it seem like like it was Indonesia.

But what I meant, is that upon first hearing of it, my thoughts immediately turned to Indonesia.

Not just about 2004/5 either. Krakatoa etc.
