US sells 30-year bonds at highest borrowing costs since 2001~ WSJ

'Yields have jumped amid concerns over mounting public debt and persistently high inflation'

The long bond is coming for all the mistakes that have accumulated since 2001.

Empire gets paid for! Americans will be lucky to get away with austerity instead of apocalypse.

New York will earn all the fees; the Heartland will pick up the tab! So surprising that the yokels ever thought it was going to be any other way.

Accurate.

The rest is pure theatrical fatalism dressed up as insight.

Still enjoying Mom’s house in the smokies with the grandsons. They are going to be fine men. Today the bros had a pissing contest in the woods. No one told them to do it. 4 year old bro just had to go, and amazed himself with the robust stream. The 3 year old had to get into the action. Immediate competition. The male essence.

Sunrise a few days after the 2026 Dem primary In Wisconsin.

People in New Hampshire are asking me to explain. "Well, you see, election officials in five different places pressed the wrong button on five out of the seven major vote tally machines; and then the media reporting ended while the election officials went to press the right buttons; and so then, the election officials counted again without any coverage; and then the front runner lost and won't challenge anything that happened. And so, Wisconsin moves ahead of California in the Advanced Forms of Vote Counting Sweepstakes."

Anthropic backers eye $2T valuation for IPO this fall ~ LinkedIn

$2T x 20% return because the risk is gargantuan = $400B in annual free cash flow / 25% free cash flow margin to be incredibly generous = $1.6T in revenue required.

Assume annualized revenue of $100B by the end of 2026, so they need to grow revenue by $1.5T, on top of SpaceX, OpenAI, Google, Meta, Microsoft, all of the Chinese AI companies, Mistral, and every other smaller AI company plus all of the hardware makers like Nvidia.

For those of you running companies, how many of you are forecasting doubling your IT spend every year for the next few decades and are backing that up with supporting revenue growth or expense offsets?

By way of comparison, total current global IT spend is some $6T. This likely includes what's going into data center builds now. These AI values need another $10T+ in incremental revenue plus perpetual growth to justify the planned capex. So the world is going to more than double IT spend and grow that forever.

If you thought inflation was bad now...!

US bonds don’t have to be stronger than the bear. They only have to be stronger than the next economy. or do you see a better low risk alternative IEE? Germany?

You haven't been pulling cash out in the last 5 year as things have spiked?

My accountant father taught me about compounding and time, thankfully he also talked to me about pulling money out when at historic highs. About to pull the last of what I need for the remaining 3 years of child college so the rest can just build.

The last years in the market have been great, but late into Republican Presidential terms the market goes to shit.

Visiting Angels is a big Fox News advertiser. But lately they have been running help wanted ads. And the actors playing the Angels are all over 60. Is this how we are going to get out of the care problem: young elderly taking care of old elderly? On the bright side, they must be doing this because the migrant work force is drying up. CC, JSM

94% coverage for a solar eclipse is about 1% as impressive as 100%. It’s a mildly interesting anomaly.

As time goes on, isn't anybody else as sick and tired of the lies of the left and their corrupted intel agencies that performed what can only be called a coup on President Trump and his administration??? WHEN are we going to see actual justice, and not just talk???

"The declassified documents identified Republicans, including other high-ranking officials such as former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and the late Lindsey Graham, as conduits for Russian misinformation. At the same time, figures such as George Soros, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, former President Barack Obama, Joe Biden, Hunter Biden, and former Secretary of State John Kerry are “targets” for Russian disinformation.

What is bizarre is that the FBI was aware by that point that Clinton had secretly funded the Russian collusion hoax and helped launch the greatest political hit job in history with a cooperating media."

Wow. Wendybar, thank you for that link at 3:19.

I've read that the age of Aisha is one of the major disputes in Islam, dividing Sunni and Shiite. That's what A.I. is saying now, and I've read that elsewhere. AI says that a Sunni Muslim believes that Muhammad married at 6 and consummated the marriage at 9. While a Shiite Muslim thinks she was 19. Pretty good discussion on this reddit thread.

Here's the report from the RAIR Foundation.

A 15-year-old son of Iraqi refugees turned a free Viennese schoolgirl into his Sklavin, forcing conversion, the hijab, and repeated rape while invoking Allah’s name to threaten death, exactly reproducing the Quran’s category of ma malakat aymanukum, “what your right hands possess.”. Horrifying.

Honestly my experience with Muslims in the USA has been nothing but positive. I knew a Muslim attorney, who would go off and pray secretly five times a day. Nice guy. I asked him once about Sufis and he got so mad. He really did not like Sufis.

In film school I knew a guy, a refugee from Afghanistan, I actually never knew what his religion was. Might have been a Christian, for all I know, or a Sufi. He was a sweetheart of a man, very humble, he would make a little prayer gesture with his hands whenever anybody showed him any kindness. I helped him with his English on his screenplay, and acted in one of his movies. I asked him once, by e-mail, if he was a Christian or a Sufi or what, and he kind of ducked the question. To me, he was a very spiritual guy, and I had a lot of respect for him.

(I like the Sufis because Rumi, the famous poet, was a Sufi).

I think in the USA we have been very careful with what countries immigrants come from. So we haven't had seen the rape networks that have rocked the UK and other places.

I'm not saying that we have had no crimes from Islamic people here. Obviously we have. 9/11. But we've also had a lot of great people who have added to our culture. Muhammad Ali, Ahmad Rashad, Dave Chapelle.

I think our immigration policies are significantly better than what Europe did.

A note for the older readers here, from an eggman.

I worked with a very loquatious eggman overnights at Kroger. They're having a serious southwestern salmonella outbreak there -- killed dozens in one state. He says the FDA guidelines are useless because the affected area ships their eggs to fast food places and restaurants all over the country, to places not on the FDA list, and add them raw in pre-baked bakery items shipped around the country, including for thing like brownies and meringue that are not cooked to temperature. Or worse, Ceasar salad dressing and Carpaccio.

He spent his working, and perhaps leisure, life thinking about eggs. He subscribed to an egg farmer newsletter. He said to be very cautious of farm to table eggs, because even the well-intentioned range in knowledge. I learned all there is to know about eggs from him (I thought chickens breastfed their offspring: I did not tell him that). He delighted in showing me cracked and broken eggs and describing the trajectory of the way they broke. He taught me all the layers of eggs; their cultural significance to different people around the world, and the inherent, yet different dangers affecting both factory and free-range eggs.

There is nothing I love more than a person who embraces his work so thoroughly. There is learning all around us. Don't get me started on the produce guy. Education is where you find it.

Mandami and all the other dolts opening "socialist" grocery stores will fail brutally. Atlanta tried that food desert crap years ago. The black lefty grad students and activists (redundant) made off with mi!lions in grants, aka tax dollars and not a single "store" remains.

…Marty Zweig did a bunch of work on high correlation events like Presidential cycles and as a student I did a deep dive on the couple dozen high correlation events a number if high profile economists have written about. I don’t recall any such relationship- it sounds purely political. I know you won’t listen but I’ll give you the most robust relationship- the third year of a Presidential cycle is up and up usually up big. Combine that with avoid markets when the Fed is tightening and you’ll do very well in equities…

We have never been here before - this is outrageous. No wonder Minnesotta is in so much trouble. Vouching for 8 people? No ID required? What the hell. Well done to James O’Keefe & Cam Higby - hard to believe they pulled this off with that terrible accent! But such an important story. If you did not see it with your own eyes, you would struggle to believe this could be true. What happened to the constitutional standard for elections? Since elections are critical infrastructure this affects the entire government & should be treated as a national emergency.
