"Minnesota Governor Tim Walz was warned about massive fraud in a pandemic food-aid program for children, yet he failed to act."

"Instead, whistleblowers who raised concerns faced retaliation. Because of Governor Walz’s negligence, criminals — including Somali terrorists — stole nearly $1 billion from the program while children suffered.”

Said House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-Ky.), quoted in "
Treasury, House panel launch probes into Tim Walz’s handling of $1B food aid fraud — and they could make criminal referrals" (NY Post).

I’ll believe there will be “criminal referrals” when I see them materialize. Comer is half a clown.

'Negligence', they say. How kind.

Governor Gavin Newsom was warned about...shoplifting...

Governor Kathy Hochul was warned about...COVID-19...

Woke = willful blindness per ideological/religous beliefs. Birds of a feather.

I don’t want referrals I want convictions. Also I want the money cut off. I will get neither…

…just let it be a lesson to you complacents- the usaid transfer scheme has infected every budget in the federal omnibus. This is only one more data point.

Over $1 billion in fraud - that puts Timmy in a rare league.

Every welfare program in the country is going to look like this.

60-70% of all money in homeless/food programs go to people making over 100,000$ a year.

I’m dubious about the “children suffered” bit. That’s probably bullshit. We’re in the midst of a childhood obesity epidemic. The “school lunch” sacred mantra of the DNC is a money launderer’s dream. School lunches are trash, nutritional nightmares. Nobody should eat them. Training for diabetes.

Between this and the autism care scandal, how is there one penny in the Minnesota treasury that hasn't been transferred to Somalia?

Hard to believe a treasonous bastard with a history of stolen valor would be guilty of failing to act. How much did he get out of this?

Wince said...

Whether it's Comer's fault or not, I beginning to think a "Comer investigation" with "possible criminal referrals" is a kiss of life rather than death.

Yeah Good ol' Forgetful Tim. Got warned but, y'know put the memo at the bottom of pile, and forgot about it. Did nothing.

Yeah, right. We need to know how much of that $1 billion ended up in Democrat Pols pockets.

RCOCEAN II said...

Obviously, if $1,000 million was stolen; thats $1 billion that didn't get to the kids. And kids were hurt.

And even if they weren't, its a good way to ensure outrage.

DC Republicans always talk a good game, and then do nothing. For example, they still haven't got Boasberg up before Congress to ask why he was signing off on spying Congressmen and Senators. Among other things.

I look in the mirror and wonder how it came to be that I no longer expect anyone except token players to pay any fines or serve any time. In an age of open lawfare, you'd think that actual crimes might be prosecuted aggressively. I really am astonished at how cynical I've become, but I guess the bigger question is why it took so long.

Jess said...

There was a huge number of public employees complaining, and being told to keep quiet. The fact they're not quiet any longer tells more than some realize. Those involved with trying to keep a lid on the activities will be prosecuted long before the governor, and those that tried to expose the corruption will be witnesses during the prosecution.

I wonder who in the Democrat Party elite decided to cut Walz loose. They protected him for years, and now they're broadcasting this scandal in the NYTs'. Wonder what he did. Not enough enough trips to the Wailing wall? Or just outlived his usefulness? Maybe they don't want him to run for Senate or POTUS.

Progressives believe government programs don't have enough fraud, waste, and abuse to concern themselves with, as billionaires have all the wealth needed to provide everything for everyone if only they were properly taxed.

Kevin said...

I wonder who in the Democrat Party elite decided to cut Walz loose.

He was perfectly acceptable to the moneymen during the campaign, because this massive fraud made him easy to control as long as they retained power.

Then Trump won and they couldn't have this scandal coming up during the mid-terms.

Bye, Felicia!

Further proof of Kamala's excellent judgment and decision making. She's fierce, and smart!

Democrats need to start primarying their own crap. Its not acceptable to lose taxpayer money like that.

Their party is eventually going to run into problems, as our 6% deficit means we can't accept crap programs that don't work and spend billions.

I don't think they have internalized this lesson yet.

Once they do, they will instead start "mandating" shit.

Don Surber opined on the Minnesota-Somalia scandals. Good as always but he had a great line about Tim Walz being "Rip Taylor without the confetti"

Don inspired me to make this video of them side by side doing their acts.

I would add that Rip Taylor contributed to America. Walz seems more like a barnacle.

of the BILLION DOLLARS of fraud, that they've admitted to (SO FAR),

how much of that circled back to the DFL (minnesota dem party)?
AND
how much of THAT, went DIRECTLY INTO Walz's pockets?
Millions? TENS of Millions? HUNDREDS of Millions?

@Aaron: Democrats need to start primarying their own crap.

They did criticize other Democrats before TDS set in. During the 2020 circular firing squad Democratic debate, they realized they'd lose if they followed their personal values/ideals. Tulsi destroyed Kamala. Everyone destroyed Bloomberg.

Then, the puppetmasters put up "safe" and sleepy Joe and ditzy Kamala. The puppetmasters did everything after that. It only works as long as blood enemies can play nice.

Bribes to the Democratic Party are almost certainly a line item in a fraud of this size. Check the political donations of everyone involved.

The Somalis stole a lot of money because either (a) no one was watching or (b) the watchdogs were muzzled. The latest incident involves a guy in the town of Pelican Rapids, Minnesota, a small town out in the western part of the state. The guy claimed to be providing more meals each day than the total number of people who live in Pelican Rapids, but he got paid. The smart money is on (b).

During the George Floyd riots ignited in Minneapolis, the city burned, the police station burned, entire city blocks burned, people lost their properties, businesses, lives. And Tim Walz kept huddled in a closet somewhere for two days before coming out and saying/doing nothing.

I was shocked at the lack of leadership and direction, both by the Mayor of that city and by Walz, the Governor. Imagine my shock when I saw that Minnesotans reelected both Tim Walz and Jacob Frey.

Walz was who the Democrats decided was the best man- after looking at their bench around the country- to show how masculine and regular Democrats can be.

What we know for sure after time spent watching Tim Walz, and now reading these reports: We know how utterly fake and corrupt Democrats are, in every possible way.

That's not true. His wife said that she kept the windows of the governor’s residence “open as long as [she] could” to smell the burning tires from the violent 2020 riots. I'll bet she sipped a little Chardonnay with that.

Over $1 billion in outright theft and export of taxpayer cash to foreign lands, and by golly it's made those Republicans so mad, they're almost ready to say something.

My girlfriend is a Medicare fraud investigator in our state. She has made several recommendations to the organization that funds (fraudulent) providers only to be told that "they are not going to restrict access to healthcare". The agencies that allocate funds are complicit by virtue of neglect.

Interesting article at Gateway Pundit. What I find especially interesting is the comments section.

People wonder why Nick Fuentes, Tucker Carlson, and Candace Owens are the most popular thought influencers on the right and Zoran Mamdani and AOC are the most popular politicians on the left.

There are multiple generations of people under the age of 40 who have just been straight up fucked by the system currently built.

This is inevitable. You don't to agree with it to see it coming.

This tsunami of low-life immigrants from turd world countries like Somalia isn’t going to stop unless the money flowing to them and their DFL/Lutheran Social Service co-conspirators stops. The Trump DoJ needs to set up a Special Counsel in Minnesota immediately and make some examples along FA/FO lines for Walz et al. Just saying.

When you come to the point where you see the Democrat Party as an organized crime ring, so many news stories like this one make a lot more sense. Why didn't Walz stop the fraud? One possibility is that he was in on it. Another is that he's so incompetent that he didn't realize what was happening despite being told. It would be interesting if many of the leading politicians and bureaucracy heads were subject to in-depth IRS audits. Who know what might be revealed.

Peachy, dear, it is possible to be concerned about the disproportionate influence that partisans of Israel have on American policy, foreign and domestic, without hating all Jews. Especially since that influence seems to be obtained by a combination of economic carrots and reputation-destruction sticks. In Latin America, they speak of "plata o plumbo" -- silver or lead. The Zionists are a bit subtler here, but only a bit.

Once again, utter silence from our resident leftist horde. Nary a word spoken.

My local newspaper has a story on this today. The leftists in the comment section are not even pretending to be upset by the fraud, nor the fact the fraud is taxpayer support of terrorist groups in Somalia. They only shriek "But Trump!"

I thought that smart politics would be to shriek "But Trump is bad, and look at us to see how much better we are!" But our leftists are not even pretending to be "how much better." They just openly commit crime, fraud, support evil, and scream OrangeManBad as if it somehow is justification for their own crimes, and also as if it makes people want to vote for Democrats.

Why would anyone who is convinced that OrangeManBad want to vote for Democrats who seem determined to be even worse than whatever crimes the left claims Trump is guilty of?
