"Counterpoint: If they're that afraid, they can resign for their safety. Since when is the safety of Brett Kavanaugh more important than..."

"... the lives of teachers and their students? The lives of women? People in Buffalo who simply went to the grocery store? People who go to church? How many people feel unsafe because of transphobic laws? Why should the Supreme Court feel safer than the general public? Why has the Editorial Board decided the justices are entitled to some sort of elitist protection? They can live the same way they have decided the rest of us should live."

Says a highly rated comment on the Washington Post editorial "Supreme Court justices should be able to feel safe at home." The Editorial Board comes out in favor of a Senate bill that would authorize protection of the Supreme Court Justice's family.

Notice how the lefties/democraticals/NeverTrump-FakeCons are so very very very adament that your kids really arent your kids, their "safety" requires conservatives be disarmed and censored, and conservative ideas and words are literal "violence" against them which justifies any physically violent action on their part.

Gee, its almost as if these lefties et al are actual Maoist fascists or something.

It’s not elitist to believe that ALL OF US deserve peace and privacy at home. Protesting at a private residence should be illegal everywhere. If you feel that unsafe in the United States there is an entire PLANET of other countries you can move to.

See how dumb that sounds?

Democrats need to understand that we're not going to base our public policy, Constitution and Bill of Rights on the crazed rantings of the hysterical among us. We're simply not going to allow these people to terrorize us in order to get their way politically. That's TERRORISM. And we put people to death for terrorism.

And there you have the voice of the Left today. Any questions?

By the way, to answer one of his questions (and yes, I'm sure it's a he. Or at least a Zir.): "How many people feel unsafe because of transphobic laws?" My answer: Approximately 200. Maybe 289. But don't worry, the 340,000,000 other Americans will tread on eggshells so as not to disturb their auras.

No sane person advocates against safety and for violence. One never knows wher it will stop. It has been all too common in recent times that we are seeing liberals ignoring this when the target is someone they disagree with. In fact they are quietly encouraging this to sway decisions in violation of law and decency. You either live within the system or you do not. Mark my word if a conservative justice is harmed things will go rapidly down hill from there.

The same terribly flawed logic argues that we should not have the Secret Service to protect anyone else serving in the federal government.

When we want somebody to fill a role in the federal government, and that role exposes them to heightened danger, the federal government should provide some protection against that danger. For a lot of employees, that's a security briefing and workplace security. For very senior roles -- like the President, VP and Supreme Court -- that should include a protective detail. When there are specific, credible threats, security should be stepped up.

The argument made by that comment is quite blinkered in a partisan way. It ignores that there is elevated risk for some people specifically because of the job they do for the country.

What a lot of people ignore at their peril is that the assassination of a Justice could very well be the action that causes the resistance to go kinetic, and the gun safes across the country be unlocked. We have Schumer advocating for assassination of wayward Justices, FJB refusing to enforce laws against protesting in front of their houses, and Pelosi refusing to allow a vote on a bill increasing their protection. They are essentially green lighting intimidating, if not killing, Supreme Court Justices. Their sanctity is so essential to our form of government, that I don’t think that it will be pretty if something happens to one of the Justices.

The lives of teachers and students are at greatest risk from social contagion, blades, blunt force, chemicals, then guns, in that order.

The lives of women are at greatest risk through immigration reform, in socially liberal climates, and the wicked solution a.k.a. planned parent/hood to keep women appointed, available, and taxable.

The transphobic laws are found in political congruence ("="). The greatest risk to trans/homosexuals is from other trans/homosexuals in bad drug deals, from people of color gang rapes... rape-rapes, pathogenic transmission through the back... black hole... whore h/t NAACP, and trans/bisexuals socially excluded from trans/homosexual games, who have taken a measure of the community pulse.

Counterpoint: If they're that afraid, they can resign for their safety. Since when is the safety of Brett Kavanaugh more important than the lives of teachers and their students?

In most States, if someone did to a teacher or fellow students what the left is doing to Kavanaugh and ACB, they'd, quite properly, be arrested.
So this is at best a non-sequitur

The lives of women?
How about the lives of unborn babies? Is it perfectly right to murder any politician / judge who supports abortion, on the grounds that their position means they're not entitled to protection from threats?

People in Buffalo who simply went to the grocery store?
So, what this person is saying, and what the up voters are saying, is that they believe they are in sole obsession of the One True Way to "protect" people, and that they have the right to murder any heathens or heretics who disagree with their religious belief.

People who go to church?
Gee, you mean like the people going to ACB's church? no, you want to expose them to threats and violence

How many people feel unsafe because of transphobic laws?
How many people feel unsafe, and are actually made unsafe, by "transphillic" laws that let men into women's bathrooms, locker rooms, shelters, and prisons?
Oh, those people don't matter?

Why should the Supreme Court feel safer than the general public?
They shouldn't.
Neither should President Biden, Nancy Pelosi, or any Democrat members of the House or Senate.

Which means you need to stop shining about how "J6" threatened those people, because we've just established that they're not the least bit more important than all the ordinary citizens threatened by the George Floyd / BLM riots

Why has the Editorial Board decided the justices are entitled to some sort of elitist protection? They can live the same way they have decided the rest of us should live.

If your'e on a jury, it's against the law for someone to come to your house and try to intimidate you to rule a certain way.

Why are you trying to deny Supreme Court Justices the same protection that every juror is entitled to?

Says a highly rated comment on the Washington Post editorial "Supreme Court justices should be able to feel safe at home." The Editorial Board comes out in favor of a Senate bill that would authorize protection of the Supreme Court Justice's family.

I find it amazing that people who eagerly disarm themselves are nevertheless desperate to have a civil war, and a society where violent intimidation is accepted and appropriate?

Are they really just so stupid that they think it won't ever rebound on them?

it's like "being on the Left" is a brain disorder. Garland is not on SCOTUS because Democrats changed the rules, and the GOP enforced the new rules. With all the screaming about that, is it truly the case that they just couldn't figure out that ideas have consequences?

I will confess I'm surprised that no one has yet done a drive-by shooting of the protesters in front of one of the Justices' home.

By which I mean pull up at the end of the street with someone in the back seat with a rifle, shoot off a magazine into the crowd, and drive away. Shooting down the street means no risk of the bullets going into the house, and to use the language of the Left, anyone outside, including any cops who aren't arresting people, is "complicate" in the threat.

My guess is that the belief that we're going to win in November, and that the intimidation won't work, are the only thing keeping the bloodshed at bay

"Drago serious question. Do you believe/understand that there is a significant segment of the population that thinks Trump is a danger to our democracy but are not leftists?"

Anyone who believes that is delusional.

Trump was the President MOST respectful of the proper bounds on Presidential action since the end of the Cold War.

During Covid, President Trump, rather than trying to rule by "emergency" measure, told the Governors of the 50 States to each make their own choices, with the knowledge that the Federal Gov't would back them up.

NY claimed they didn't have enough hospital beds, so Trump sent them the USS Mercy. He didn't force them to use it, and Cuomo decided to murder thousands of elderly by sending them back to nursing homes while they were still contagious with Covid, rather than "give Trump a win" by using the USS Mercy, but Trump did his part, then stopped.

The same was true at pretty much every level. He used his powers to clear away problems, NOT to force solutions.

So if you see Trump as an "authoritarian", a "dictator", or a "threat to democracy" (when he was the one fighting for honest elections, which are the base requirement for any democracy), you are a delusional nut, or a dishonest partisan hack.
