from Scott M:Did they have to jump out of their car to see the street sign?
from David:"Get over there Meade and spiff up that garden."
email from MJB Wolf:Saw the bit on "Althouse St." and have a question. How does Ann pronounce her last name, with a hard T or a soft TH (assuming the OUSE part rhymes with mouse)? -- Mike (not original Mike) a/k/a MJB WolfPS - I really enjoy most of the comments but the flame wars between Inga and Shouting Thomas or Inga and Edutcher or Garage and everyone else do grow tedious. I've wanted to ask this question (above) for some time, but never put it in a direct comment until now.
email from MOVW:With two cats in the yard.
from TvB:Serendipity...just yesterday, while doing genealogy research, I was checking out Google Maps to look at the house in which my grandfather was born. It's in East Rockaway, NY, on Waldo Avenue, just a couple of blocks away from that village's Althouse Avenue (which I immediately spotted on the map and thought of you/the blog). East Rockaway is one village away from Woodmere. All are part of old Hempstead.
from Astro Mathman:Looks like it deserves the caption/song title: 'Don''t Fence Me In'.
"With two cats in the yard."Yes, that's the idea. Our house is a very very very nice house...Alt house is a very very very nice house.... With no comments for now...Life used to be so "wow"...Now, everything is screwed up cuz of you know who....
