I thought the most interesting story of the afternoonn was that NBC (GE) decided to edit "Under God" out of the Pledge of Allegiance in 2 different spots in a patriotic promo for US Open.

"Under God" was added by Eisenhower, back in 1954.

I learned the Pledge, which was recited daily, while I went to elementary school. So, my tongue always skips over "Under God." It's not how I learned to say it.

At least, back in 1942, when I was only 3, school kids had been saying the Pledge, using a Nazi salute. (Whew. I never even saw it done that way!) But school kids in the 1930's did.

Oh, at Ebbets Field, men would take off their hats, and hold there hand over their hearts. Because a ballgame didn't start until after everyone stood for the flag salute.

Experts say it's extremely suspicious and indicates probable tax fraud. Additionally, Anthony Weiner refuses to allow anyone to examine his fraudulent tax returns even though we pay his salary, so that's also highly suspicious and goes to his credibility.

It's pretty obvious what's going on here. He's cheating on his taxes and the NY Post has caught him.

On the other hand, a deduction on your personal taxes has to be an actual personal expense, not one that you already paid via you campaign funds or a Cingressional expense account. For example, let's say your home address is listed as your offical political address. You pay part of the expenses there with political funds, well then you can't double claim those expenses as personal...

The Pledge is stupid, June 3 1999 John and Ken show real audio 31 minutes.

It starts slow with an interview with a lawyer and mom whose kid didn't want to recite the pledge, but after 10 minutes angry callers call in and it gets good.

I think the Pledge is stupid too. Who would think conservatives would have that as any kind of litmus test.

It has to do with liberals like NBC removing the "under God" part from it.

Our nation was founded, under God. The Declaration of Indepence says the word God in the first paragraph.

I went to my parents cottage for Fathers Day. It is on Lake Delton.

Drove through the Dells-that place is such a red neck tourist trap. It is just so absolutely horrible but I was loving gawking at all the undersirables, so hideous and non exempt and uneducated....but I loved it in a fucked up kind of way. Also, I saw more colored people walking on the streets of Wisconsin Dells then I have seen the past 9 months in Madison. The thought of dipping my manicured toes in the same water as the vermin is enough to make me barf.

Went to a fabulous, yes fab restaurant callled The Cheese Factory-no not Cheesecake Factory. It is vegetarian...in Wisconsin Dells...surrounded by Paul Bunyon and Pizza Warehouses.

All the employees in the Wisconsin Dells are of eastern european persuasion-definitely some hot ones too. They are the thin ones too.

The rest of them are fatty cheese heads and minority Chicago trash.

Here's what I am noticing.

Well managed companies work really hard at lowering their fixed expenses. Most have long been partnering with suppliers who are also interested in keeping costs down too. When they all put their heads together, they might try to start up in a new location with less regulation and taxation that makes better sense to the manufacturer and the supplier, but more importantly, satisfies their customers...Quality product at lowest cost.

From what I've been reading in my local paper, these companies are offering nice relocation packages too. These companies really WANT to take their experienced workers with them. The comments section seems to support this as fact.

The Lefties usually get their way when someone's been "offended" at something everyone else has been doing for years. Either that or a couple of parents decide their little darling will be traumatized for life if (s)he has to at least stand respectfully, if not join in, on something like the Pledge.

Litmus test? When Teddy Kennedy pushed to have MLK's B-day made a national holiday, anyone who didn't want Veterans' Day demoted from being a Federal holiday or who thought making one ethnic observance a national holiday was a bad idea was automatically raaacist.

Actually, that is the MG&E power plant just a few blocks east of Downtown, located in the Capitol East District (a slowly but assuredly an area that will see much economic development activity in the future). This plant is converting from coal to gas later this year, early 2012. The nice wall you see was put there to help keep dust from the coal piles from blowing into the neighborhoods and bike path.

Royster-Clark plant is a 2-3 miles further east from this location along the bike path.

Don't misunderstand, I LOVE Althouse's photography of Madison. Frankly, it's one of my primary reasons for coming here. But honestly, you have to see what Andrew Sullivan has going on with his commenters who submit pictures taken from inside their homes around the world.

But the present is to be enjoyed.

Including what my dad loved ... just a day driving around. Destinations didn't matter. He just loved being in the driver's seat. In a car that had both a brake and a clutch. Neat memories for a Father's Day.

That's kind of the problem isn't it? I mean we are but to many people we aren't and never will be. I was around back in the 1960's and 1970's, and I know what race relations were like and I know how badly polluted the environment was.

Note the "was."

Maybe the biggest problem with liberalism is that it was successful. Why have unions declined in membership, if not the fact that they really aren't needed anymore?

But if you read the African-American columnists who publish in the Washington Post the United States in 2011 is no different from Mississippi in 1951 (the reality that there is a genuine African-American as President notwithstanding). And the earth is as polluted as its ever been. And deep down inside every goy is a snarling anti-semite just waiting to burst forth.

One gets tired of all the drama, but let's face it -- drama is fun. For the liberals anyway, not for the rest of us who have to pay for their fantasies and then clean up after them.

Royster-Clark was bought out a few years ago by Agrium, a huge Canadian fertilizer company, that seems to be trying to lose R-C's business here in the Southeast. My employers used to buy most of our product from them, but service is down and prices are up, and the Agrium rep is a damn yankee jerk.

The Times is reaching out to Thomas.. they believe that because Thomas is black he cannot possibly think for himself. So they want to know.. I've read that racism is incapable of taking in and adjusting to new information.
