"It's like the president's not our boyfriend anymore."

For the netroots, it's like waking up in a cold tent alone, instead of in his arms. Well, you shouldn't have drunk all that Kool-Aid.

See? No rape:

They willingly went along with it.

BTW - how about you?

Did he respect you in the morning?

Obamagirl gave him a B- about a year ago (he never called her). Maybe that's a C+ by now (she was on Hannity with the complaint that she thought he would call her and never did). She should have backed Weiner.

I didn't drink the Kool-Aid. I went into the voting booth with my eyes wide open. Just to refresh your recollection, there was a choice between Obama and John McCain. There was no way to remain chaste. We were going to get fucked one way or the other.

LOL!!!

I don't buy it (we don't know what would've happened with McCain) but that's your best dodge to date!

tachyonshuggy said...

Yes, we really dodged a bullet with that McCain. Better to try our luck with the red diaper cypher who speaks in pleasant generalities about being better.

Can't believe that didn't work out.

The fact that so many on the left want a boyfriend as president is really telling.

In hindsight, I am glad Obama won because his performance hastened the loud public debate of big vs small govt.

Obama has been so incompetent, he serves as the ideal poster child for what is wrong with big govt.

I may feel raped by Obama's policies...but that is not rape rape.

And I did not have any wine coolers either, others did and voted for Da One. And while Ann claims she was sober when she made her choice, we would have been fucked far less by the old man.

And I suspect having Sarah Palin as Veep would be delightful to those of us who enjoy Schadenfreud.

Since you do not have a cafe, I am going to go off topic here with this montage of Weiner wood*.

Choose always whoever will gum up the works, structurally. Counting on gumming up the works based on ideology, platform or character is a fool's game.

So, federally choose whatever will keep the government as divided as possible. When one party has both branches, filled with "mandate", which I can only believe is some sort of long-acting intoxicant, they'll do all kinds of silly stuff.

In the 2008 national election, given nearly certain Democratic party control of house and senate, the presidential "choice" was McCain. Sadly, he ran the most inept national campaign in recent memory.

I'm Full of Soup said...

And like Hoosier said yesterday, these liberals seem to be mostly un-attractive so why would expect any boyfriend to stick around?

I had the opportunity to listen to the last half of the interview of White House communications assistant Dan Pfeiffer by DailyKos editor Kaili Joy Gray on the Left channel on XM last night.
I've never heard anything quite like it.
It was a hostile interview in front of an audience and the groveling, misdirection and bald-faced lies by Pfeiffer were fascinating. His answer to "When will President Obama keep his promise to close Guantanamo?" was worthy of Baghdad Bob. It didn't go over well.

The lies were repeatedly met with "I see's" and "Um-humm's" by Gray. The sort of "I see's" you might have gotten from your Mother when you told her that it was the dog who raided the cookie jar.

The whole thing is available on Cspan. Anyone who has doubts about the integrity of the current administration should give it a listen.

You had a choice between bad and worse, you chose worse and he delivered. Congrats!

This recession should have been over long ago, and it could have been easily, with anyone else. In fact, having the Presidency vacant would have produced it.

Conservatives tend to want to have a relationship with principles, not people. That is why a Congressman who sends a picture of himself without a shirt resigns, and Weiner drags out the drama. The Republican Congressman's future in politics is dead, and we are already discussing how Weiner will make a comeback. The left love their rock stars. Unfortunately, Obama is as ethically challenged as his supporters are, and he has a monster bus. "Honor among thieves" is just a myth. When the money is on the line, odd man out loses.

Yawn. Let's face it, the netroots aren't happy unless they're FUCKING OUTRAGED about something. It's emotional exhibitionism, intended to show the world that they just care so much more than everyone else.

You still picked the wrong weiner. You've already seen how Urkel fucks you, me, and everyone else who isn't glad handing him some goodie. McCain, would at least had a modicum of integrity and honor because I think that's the guy he espouses to be. We already knew the kind of gutter rat Urkel was, but you went into the booth with eyes wide open to vote for a gutter rat. Bravo to you.

You know, I normally don't bust peoples balls for how they vote. I really don't, but when I here the half-baked justifications for why they voted for Urkel, and to see how they can easily be dismissed even back then, I become a little angry about it.

Put it all together, it spells primary challenge. Even the Lefties are getting fed up.

If Hilla called Willie now, the organization would be up and running by tea time. And we have 4 or 5 months before she has to file.

And this time, the Hildabeast would not be calling the shots.

WV "hasmo" What The Weiner says about almost everybody else.

About the only conservative independence you will see is when another conservative says something not 100% supportive about Sarah Palin. But that's it, they let their leaders and talk radio do all their thinking for them.

AllenS said...

I have news for you, Professor. You didn't have to vote for either of them. Simply skip the POTUS race and vote for the other elections taking place on your ballot. Seriously, if you really felt that you were going to be fucked either way, then, why choose?

Trooper York said...

But you see if McCain had won he was too old and cranky to get it up. So you could get into bed with him and not have to worry about getting fucked so badly.

He never would have been able to pass anything through Congress. And that would have been a good thing.

The last thing I want in my tent is a government representative, but I'm sure someone in this administration thinks they need to be there ... to help me.

Oh come on, that's a cop out. You and Jane Hamsher both voted for Obama. WHY you did is hardly germaine to the question of WHETHER you drank the Kool Aid.

You drank it, Ann.

It dribbled all down your shirt and left a huge red stain we can all see that's still there.

Ok, I really like Ann, but she's for sure not the one to criticize Obama voters.

A little more self-relection would be in order here.

McCain had been a leader in dire situations.

Obama was handing out your tax dollars as a community organizer.

Yeah.....that's a tough choice!

Ambrose, I alerted Ann in the historic novel thread with a link to the photographic proof. Boehner really is a bone head not to get the message.

Boehner? Bone. Boner. Did you see the Weiner NY Post montage I linked above?

But we won't stop busting on her for voting for the inexperienced, doctrinaire, present-voting,community organizer who never had a job in the real world.

To think starry eyed Obamabots like Althouse and their white guilt shattered the dream of Sarah Palin in the White House. Gathering valuable world experience as she preps herself for the next step, the Presidency. America would have fallen in love with Sarah.

Instead, we're going to get Obama for 8 fucking long years. Way to GO, Althouse!

Would a President Palin make us buy energy efficient light bulbs? HELLS NO! Just one example of the tyranny Obama has inflicted on us.

Unflippinbelievable.

I'm Full of Soup said...

Does anyone beside Garage see a big gap between Obama's knowledge base and Palin's?

Obama is so smart& informed he has said:

I can't speak Austrian.
Corpse man.
You can keep your doctor.
It's doctors removing legs and tonsils who drive up health care costs.
I have been in what 57 states.
It took me two years [and $880 Billion] to learn there is no such thing as shovel-ready jobs.
ATM's are one cause of high unemployment.

My 20/20 hindsight has never been mistaken...I am damn near a perfect person when reliving my decisions. Obama did get us out of bondage to eternal White Guilt left over from MLK's heydays. That Obama turned out to be a narcissist and a serial liar dedicated to looting the Americans who have any savings left and then abandoning us to our destruction has yet to be dealt with. That is why a Palin would be better than a Romney. We need a President willing to tell us the truth.

Everyone knows liberals are going to get back in the car. They are not going to call the police or run home to mom. What are they going to do? Vote Republican?

Look Obama only slaps them around because he is under a lot of stress. And he doesn't want to have to do it again. So liberals need to shut up and get back in the car like the good little abused girlfriends they are.

The coming controversy over the War Powers Resolution would give Hillary Clinton a perfect opportunity to resign "as a matter of principle."

"Yes, I myself urged the President to use military force to save the lives of people opposed to a brutal dictator. But I expected, as did everyone else, that he would do it in a way consistent with the Constitution and the War Powers Resolution. Had he consulted Congress he would have had the authority to act. Instead he violated the Constitution and put Americn lives at risk in an illegal war. I regret that I can no longer be a part of this administration."

And then she could challenge Obama, and likely win the nomination.

But will she?

Hell, I don't know.

Indeed she did. And as much as I like Ann- she, as someone who tends toward the center-right, was somehow still seduced to vote for Obama- the obvious left-leaning cipher that he was. Which makes snark about "boyfriends" particularly tone-deaf.

Ann is (unfortunately) a perfect representative of the failure of critical thought -- of the the millions whose votes put us in the position we're in now.

Another thought...

Ann actually knew better, but decided to vote for Obama as positioning for her blog. You know- confounding expectations + added political wiggle room.

If I were her, I would also see things through the lens of the blog, given what a huge success it is. I don't blame her, really.
