Undergraduate forever.

You've heard of the "perpetual student," but it's usually a grad student, collecting degrees, isn't it? This UW-Whitewater student has more 100 more credits than he needs for a bachelor's degree and he's avoiding graduating. He's going to be on Letterman tonight.

Roger Zelazny's "Doorways in the Sand" had as it's hero a 12 year undergrad.
His late uncle's estate will only support him up to the moment when he is awarded a degree. One of the interesting bits of the book is how his latest advisor, who felt it was his duty to get Fred to graduate, actually managed to pull it off.
